Great job and nice to see you two collaborating! Thankfully the cold is not something most of us have to worry too much about in Australia. I chose not to get the heat pump or heated back seats in my Polestar and I didn’t even want the sunroof because of the heat. Although a couple of times this winter, I did get a warning message from my Polestar saying the battery was cold and that performance could be affected.
What do you mean by Charge fox? Is this only in Australia?
Perhaps a sillly question, but is there any technology being developed to address this issue? E.g. Just as I understand EVs now have cooling systems for the batteries (which were absent from the Nissan Leafs), is a heating / warming system required for colder weather?
I'm not an expert, but I think it's possible. Resistance in electrical circuits generate heat, which can be used to condition the batteries. As a matter of fact I think that's how battery management systems prepare batteries during fast charging. I'm probably getting a lot of things wrong here, so you might have to take this comment with a little grain of salt
what would be super interesting is a look at living with an EV when you dont have a driveway , charging options ect . Fabulous content by the way !

All ebikes are speed limited in Australia to 26kmh
I had a baby last year and also found myself gagging when I smelt exhaust fumes during pregnancy. We bought a PS2 and it's been great for our little family.

Being a cyclist and an EV owner and previous ICE owner, it just stuns me that one of the biggest benefits from an EV and one that isn’t talked about enough, is that ur car isn’t poisoning future generations that are getting pushed along the road side in prams by the exhaust fumes at pram level

Just do it. There are so many reasons to do it. This little car and the owner shows that you don't always need a car with 500km range. Look at what your real needs are and then look around. I got a Model Y as I'm a tech geek. But your actual needs and wants will determine what you choose. Go and do it and enjoy.

Love smaller Evs, and this does look good. I'm not sure on the AR in the centre scree for navigations though, but as a tesla owner, will everyone tell you how bad the central speed display is? /s My OCD is telling me to keep pulling at that strap piece of trim on the dashboard in front of the passenger.

That display is a game changer. Super clear OLED, and I didn't know about the AR directions. So cool. My partner is put off by the "big circle TV on the dash" factor, but I think it's great.

With Australia's proximity to China, Japan and Indonesia and our non existent car industry and the fact we get some of the most sun in the world, we could be an Ev import power house. Instead we have strict regulation and tariffs to keep us on the fossil fuel industry tit for as long as possible...While we get to buy back our own gas at international prices, you couldnt make up a better story for how well we have been stitched up by those who pretend to serve us.
Hello Sarah and Philip. I own a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5. It is a wonder car! I enjoy driving it around Seattle. I get around 260 miles on an 80% charge. It is nice hearing from a real owner!

I love the Nissan Sakura - Japanese Kei class car, simple, light efficient and around the $30k mark new.....but they are currently Japanese market only and someone recently put a ban on privately importing various new Kei cars into Oz.........Look the sakura up - we need more of these!

The 1st gen MG ZS EV has android auto/carplay but doesn't have any over the air connectivity to worry about. It's range is only about 220-250km but that's plenty for most cities. It's a good used EV for well under $30K. It was the best option we could find that wasn't a clapped out Leaf.
