Would you be able to set up an IC connected to the gas tanks to vent undesirable gases in the future? I see they have network ports like most of the other items in the game. Also, for your power, how about a coal silo right next to your generator? Set it up to automatically be fed stacks of coal every so often, if possible. With uranium, is there a nuclear power option?
Coming from Satisfactory, that sorting system looks so much more complex to set up. I was thinking it would need a computer for all silos to define everything! Is there a way to set up a combined output of all your printers to a separate silo system, so that all you'd have to do is order up whatever parts you need, and collect them from a silo? Or is there a way also to link all the inputs to a system to allow for shared ingots to be distributed as needed?
@jasonknop973 yes there is, you can set things up so as you dial in a part at a printer, the materials get called from storage bins and delivered to the printer. The output can then be sent back to another storage bin or just outputted. It is complex and challenging to set up and needs a more in-depth understanding of the MIPS programming and programming of the printers. This is something that the developers are actively working on at the moment to try and simplify things. There was a recent update to the printer codebase to help with this. You have to remember this is still a game in active development so things are changing and getting better.

Check the shelf if you haven' t already outside. I think you have a passive vent stored there from a few episodes back. I'll keep watching as I find myself entertained by your way of playing. Also, now that you have a few large dual solar panels, why not recycle (if you haven't already by the 34th episode, as I'm watching in order) the flat basic panel for its parts?
@jasonknop973 You don't really get anything for recycling them so I just leave them in place for now. They generate just as much energy as the Heavy solar panels, when in full direct sunlight, it's just that they take damage from storms.
Am I the first to notice some odd beeping in the room? It seems like there is something asking for attention, or some warning...
@jasonknop973 do you have at time stamp? No one else has mentioned anything.
@jasonknop973 if you mean the ping every couple of second it is the battery operated homing beacon, beside the small leaf solar battery charger. You hear it ping when you're close to it and in a preassurised area.
@@dragonflygameruk4094 oh my. That would drive me up a wall. So, par for the course in a game where the player has to code things manually, and can't have a much nicer inventory system. I kinda get where they are coming from making it more realistic, but....change a tool, swap materials, build xyz, then swap tools again.....
@jasonknop973 you quickly learn to tune out the ping and to be honest you do have to be quite close to hear it. Plus, there is a station beacon which you can connect to your electrical supply, so no need to change batteries every 15 minutes, and I don't believe that one pings. I'm going to have to check now. The constant changing tools can get a bit annoying but you do get used to it. It would be better if it just did it autonatically as long as you had the tools and materials in your inventory. You can also fill your normal inventory with backpacks which gives you a lot more storage but it's a bit unrealistic. Mind you so it using 2.5 grams of steel to make a 1 meter cube frame.đ€ That said it is still one of my all time favorite games with over 600 hours played. You have to actually think about what your doing which is what I like.
Don't know how long it takes you to read these comments. I wonder what kinds of things you can build in the game if it has a sandbox mode. I've played a bit of Subnautica, Icarus, and some very basic Space Engineers. Is there any chance of you making a video on a super base if you haven't already? I'll keep watching this series to learn more about the game. Can't play it or buy it for the moment, though I am interested in trying it out when I can. I also have played a fair bit of Surviving Mars, and from what I've seen so far, this game is a solid blend of that game and Space Engineers. Pro Tip: When your suit yells at you, I would recommend taking care of that thing pronto. I imagine you could actually have a character pass out or worse from the survival mechanics I've seen so far.
@jasonknop973 Hi, There is a creative mode which let's you spawn anything into the game and fully assemble kit with a magic stick, can't remember what it's actually called. Yes you can pass out if you ignore your suit for too long. But it starts beeping at you way too early, at 50% it will flash amber, at 20% it flashes red. I'm fairly comfortable pushing the limits on the suit đ
@jasonknop973 by the way, what do you mean by super base? Just big or one with everything in it?
I mean one that has everything in it and room to spare. I don't know what all this game allows or if it has a sandbox mode.
I am pretty much on the way to doing that now, at episode 34, I'm working on enclosing most of my base and pressurising it. My base is significantly bigger than it is in episode 3 and most things are now under cover, of not yet under pressure.
My condolences for Mr rocket.. I wonder no feasible it would be to create a warning program that if the rocket is below both or individual warning for when the rocket is low on fuel and/or battery, a red blinking lights or speakers with warning sound off when it happen⊠Is that possible???
@srg08 You kow, I've never tried. I might look into it if I get a chance. I don't normally let my rockets run out of power.
@@dragonflygameruk4094 I know and it could help that one time it happen to prevent it from happening. Iâm like that too when playing satisfactory or any of theses types of game with their overwhelming amount of stuff you can do and never enough time to do it.

On future playthrought will you be exploring other planets?
@srg08 - Yes I will be running future series on other planets. I started with Mars as my channel is to show newbies how to get into the game and Mars is the easiest starting location. Do you have a suggestion on which location to do next?
@@dragonflygameruk4094 I just picked up the game 3 days ago. And right now the 2 hurdles are the furnace and automating the solar panel.. (the solar issue come from both me being a newcomer and many CZcams vid on this subject are old and no longer relevant), me being a complete âLoonâ I started on moon so no atmosphere mean i have less step to do when comes to airlock but also no wind turbine⊠All in all I wonât ask any planets in particular since all of them will be a interesting playthrought and at the moment iâm at your 4th episode of the 3rd season⊠but my other question for you is have the game change things since you started this 3rd season playthrough ???
@srg08 Ah okay, so things that might help you with the solar tracking. The orientation of the solar tracker is important, if you rotate in either the horizontal or vertial plane you get different readings, I suggest laying on a flat horizontal surface. Make sure all of the solar panels are facing the same way. What issues are you having with the furnace? In answer to your question, yes but I have covered them in the videos as they are released. There's no major changes that would make my Series 3 obsolete, they've been more about improvements to programming, but unless you're a programmer I wouldn't worry about it. Also changes to pipes but nothing fundamental. One thing that has changed, which I cover in my videos, is the change to using the Tablet with the ore scanner card. You no longer need to use the Ore Scanner (barrell shaped device) for the Tablet to work with the Ore Scanner Card. Using the Tablet will help you find ores early in the game.
@@dragonflygameruk4094 my main issue with furnace was I dinât take into account the difference between pressure and temperature so more often then not I end up with reagent mix and not the desired ingot⊠but now that no longer the case since you explained it in the video I have watch⊠now I have to wait for the one that deal with automating solar panel lunar version :p
@srg08 on the moon the sun is at 88 degrees in the sky so more or less directly over head. As such you don't need to worry about the Horizontal tracking. As long as you have the solar panels orientated the right way, so that they tilt from East to West you just need to track the Vertical angle.

The chute umbilical rocket side was backwards, the arrow points to chute connection. The âsmallerâsquare opening is to connect to the the tower. Personally, I like doing my small items last, umbilicals avi etc. they can go nearly anywhere unlike the large items, fuel tanks. batteries, cargo etc. Also nice idea of making the runway a U shape to save space

That marker works exactly like an approach marker... sweet! Being an avionics tech, that makes me smile tremendously. You have a regular ATC there now. Sweet.
@lonniefennel4024 all we need now is a DRDF and some proper ILS beam antennas. Although now you have me thinking about making simething like an ATC tower with the Comms dish on the roof and windows all around đ€đ
video is privat, plz fix it.
The video was private as it had just been uploaded, I made it public late last night. You should now be able to see it.
I started on Mars with brutal starting conditions and only cooled down my greenhouse with convection and passive cooling, because i had no clue how to setup an air conditioner. Now i know, thank you. I have all essentials done for surviving with potatoes only, so no more brutal, but i have no idea what i can do next. I have breathable filtered air, drinking and small farm running and solar panels with simple tracking and a weather station. Its all packed in one single greenhouse room, totally mess filled up with ores and items everywhere. But still a nice sweet home. So whats next? Traders, advanced furnace and high end gear is all nice to have, so i probably will come back to watch all your series to learn how this works. Good work, keep it up!
Hi, thanks for watching and leaving a comment đ From the sound of it you're meeting all of your imediate needs but I am guessing that you currently have a finite amount of resources. Next it is time to expand and to do that you need ore, which you don't want to have to keep mining yourself. There are a few ways to automate this, you can set up deep miners, which need cetrifuges to extract the ore. Then threre is the AIMME bot which you can set up and get it mining for you. If you want to be a bit more adventouous you can make some rockets and send them off exploring the local space enviroment and mine asteroids. Finally you could buy the ores you need from traders, but what do you trade in return? You could also look at automatig your farm with the Harvey and getting the oven to cook more advanced foods which gives you a hydration benefit. For all of this you need the tier 2 printers and space, and if you're that way inclined, some basic MIPS programming for the IC10 chips.
so which game is better especially in terms of automation: Icarus or Stationeers?
@tutkarz I'd probably have to go with Stationeers, the IC10 chpis and MIPS programming allow you to do things that you could never do in Icarus. However, for new player playability I'd go with Icarus, it's more intuative in how you play. Stationeers on the other hand is quite a complex game in which you need to spend quite a lot of time learning how things work and interact with each other.
@@dragonflygameruk4094 maybe I could ask it differently. I already own stationeers and I love it thanks to it's complexity. I only miss there more machines, some production lines, vehicles and transportation. I don't own Icarus and I was thinking if it's worth owning too but I think this game miss even more of this what I'm looking for. I don't really like walking around and collecting, I prefer to construct machines for this.
In that case definately Stationeers. I am guessing you have Satisfactory, which by the sound of it would be ideal for you, or Factorio. The most automated you get in Icarus is the deep miner which saves you having to mine ores all of time, most of the rest is manual. You can get a cart with an tamedanimal to ppul it, which helps with the transportation of goods but you still have to go and mine/harvest/collect them and lead the cart back to your base.

Crikey! What a bugger.
Great video btw. You explained this very well. I duplicated what you did EXACTLY on Mars, keeping the pipes off the wall however the temp in my little 2x2 base still kept climbing? Temp in my pipes are about -10, Air-con set to 10. and the room temp is over 20 and climbing? What could I be doing wrong? It's not as though there is a hell of a lot to follow, pretty straight forward but I've gone over your video like 4 times and I've copied it to a T? It's hard to find good videos on very simple air-cons for Stationeers, most are like building a 'real-life oil refinery'. Not interested in build such a complex system for such a small starter base but I can seem to get it to work. Frustrating. But thanks anyhoo! ***UPDATE*** BUGGER ME! I got it working. I didn't have enough pressure in my base. It was only about 10kpa. As soon as I got it up to pressure it worked. Brilliant. Thank you! Again, this is probably the best video to easily explain how to cool your base. Nice!
@wriker36 Thank you for the support. It can be lonely making these videos, and I appreciate your comments đ When I read your first part, I immediately thought of pressures, whether in your base or, more likely, in your coolant line. I am glad you got it sorted and that my video was of help. I know how complex and frustrating this game can be, so I try to explain things simply so people can follow. Keep going, there is so much to do in this game.
@@dragonflygameruk4094 I've got like a thousand hours in this game so you'd think I would have nail air con by now hey. Apparently not... UNTIL NOW! Cheers dude. Keep the videos coming.
I think the ideal water temp is the same as the ideal growing temp for plants. I could be wrong.
@dacoz I got the water temp up to 300k (or 27 degrees C) which seemed to do teh trick.

@@dragonflygameruk4094 Thank you! Just out of curiosity, why do you put it in an exterior housing instead of just putting the chip in the machine? Does it make writing the code harder?
@robloughrey you need to use a scredriver on the IC Housing Pin D0 and set it to the Combustion Centrifuge. You can see me doing this on some of my other videos. What line 2 is doing is setting the ON status of the device connected to pin D0 to off. The 's' means save, the 'CC' relates to the device connected to pin D0 as defined in line 1, 'On' is the on/off variable of the device, '0' means off, if it was a 1 it would turn the device on. Things you have to be aware of. The Combustion Centrifuges power and network connections have to be on the same electrical network as the IC Houseing and it's network connection.
@@dragonflygameruk4094 here a specific question for you. If you add a second combustion centrifuge because you have 4 deep miner will you need a second ic chip for the second one or both can be run on the same chip??
@srg08 to keep things simple, I'll go for a separate IC. Use the labeller to label your combustion centrifuge for easy identification.

You probably double checked but the max runway is 20 long 3 wide, the reason the extra piece (61 total needed) is the runway trader waypoint, it looks like a antenna. And the max landing pad size is 9x9
@charlesheath7571 Thanks, the runway length was the first thing I checked when I finished recording the video. I figured it doesn't matter if I have a few wxtra blocks at the end, I can always find something to stick there.
Edit, I was wrong a runway must be 3 wide, a 1 wide will work, as well it doesnât have to be straight just total length is 20 and due to a bug with the largest trader itâs better to have the runway 21 long or 20+threshold
@charlesheath7571 That's okay, it'll be fin to have an massive runway.

Lvl 10 first picks, advice only :) crafting bench...stone furnace...Anvil. no anvil no metal tools or weapons :)
@arthurcarkeek258 Yep, I'm already there my friend.
For making mud pies (crop mounds) just use your shovel and "Right" click, they will disappear after each use so if you want to be a farmer you best use crop beds or you will spend all your time digging
@arthurcarkeek258 I thought there had to be a catch, they're a one shot wonder. Still they're new to me and I like to experiment and show people what is available.
congratsw on being able to play on this map. I lock up on this map after spending a few hundred hours on it and building a nice base. was a complete waste of time.
@ladyponfarr5479 I had a similar issue a while back, but it was due to the number of parts in the base and an update to the game, and i think they said it was a memory leak which was fixed. Anyway, this is a clean install after a rebuild of my machine and so far it's behaving itself and load times are much improved. However, time will tell.
to sell/buy, gas/liquid you need a equivalent storage specially built for trading. and (i could be wrong on this) it needs to be attached to the landing pad. the quantity they want/offer is listed in Litres (or Liters) and is sold/bought without a container
Thanks for the info, I'll check it out.
To answer the question of bulk gasses/liquids-landing pad atmospherics kit with that the landing pad is NOT insulated and WILL I intermix ur gasses and liquids. So if you want to sell X gasâs ur Y liquid you must do them one at a time or they will get contaminated. The ship repair is easy to make, check the cardboard contents requested. Itâs usually 2 ea of 10 cables 10 plastic 10 pipes 10 sheets and a welder with either gas fuel or 100% small battery. Easy to make. Runways-the max size runway is 20x3 +1(+1 for the landing guide [it looks a mini antenna]) and for end/start of the runway use only ONE landing threshold and place it in the center of the three lanes last thing, coca is a tropical plant meaning it needs warn/hot water (20-30C)
Thanks for the info :)
another way to clean water is boiling it (as of right now it doesn't leave any dirty remains)
Thanks, this is likely to change in the future.
once again a good episode, things are moving along nicely. Suggestion only and this is not the rule but, I have found in the early game I gather only the barely needed supplies. As the yanks often say, "You are carrying too much junk in your trunk" LOL keep your inventry to the bare minimum: eg: dump all the seeds early when gathering, there is plenty of them to gather later when you really need them if you want to be a farmer. I work hard on getting to lvl10 as early as possible for the stone upgrades and will often live in a large stone until then or build the smallest useful wooden base I can get away with until lvl10. The next urgency I have found is metal tools, so from about lvl 7 to lvl10 I store my points for tier 2 use. for gathering at lower tier or new start I work on only , wood, oxite, stone, food and fibre. of course this means I kill, kill, kill :) for those points, Again this is only how I like to play in early game. For talent points I go for stamina then speed then carrying capacity (the wood line is also important if you want to evade the time wasting "Picking up" of wood and getting to the auto pick up faster) Keep with it I am enjoying watching your slant on the game. đ
@arthurcarkeek258 Thanks for your feedback. I agree that I do usually carry to much crap in my inventory, I have to admit to being a bit eclectic in games and pick everything up đ€Ł I also agree with the getting to level 10 as quickly as possible but what I have found from previous series is that people don't really like watching you going in a hunting spree. So, I try to show people a breadth of things that can be done in the game, not just the most direct route to the higher tiers. As you'll see I do go for stamina as my main talent upgrades, but I cover increased weight, I need to carry all that crap somehow, health, and spread the rest across useful things. Again, it's all about showing what can be done in the game. Or new things that have been added since I last played the game, like dirt piles and dirt foundations, they're new to me. I have the next video ready to be edited and uploaded, probably tomorrow, in which I hit the magic level 10 and get access to the Crafting Bench and start smelting iron. Anyway, thanks again for your reply, it is always good to get someone elses insight into these things.

If you go to "settings" you can stop the respawn of stuff, I usually do that especially close to the house. (fire you know lol)
@arthurcarkeek258 Thank you for the information. I will check the settings. I may have changed it previously without realising it! I agree, having all those trees and foliage around yoru base is asking for trouble during a lightning storm. đ„đ„
@arthurcarkeek258 I found the setting you mentioned and have now disabled the respawn of rocks and shurbs.
@@dragonflygameruk4094 Thats great glad you are doing this series it is fun to watch someone else make the mistakes i made but be able to rectify them far faster :) keep up the good work and I will continue to follow your adventure.
Thank you for yous support. đ
FYI Iâve been having problems with that engine mainly it crashing. I wonder if you landed it well how did you land it, mainly cause the (for me) the volume pump was being hard to control, a pressure regulator wouldnât keep up. I have been FINALLY be able to land easily with the use of a PID controller in the volume pump. I know u make ur videos for new players and a PID controller is not easy. Thankfully I was able to get help from the discord. Plz let me know how landing went
I've had no issues with landing so far. I am guessing your problem is that when you switch to landing mode and ramp up the pressure from 15MPa in space mode to 50MPa for landing mode, the volume pump can't keep up with trying to increase the engine input pressure while trying to land at the same time. I always make sure the engine pressure is up at the highest pressure before I initiate the landing, so 55MPa for me. The engine input pressure will drop initially as the engine fires at maximum, but as it descends, it automatically starts throttling down, and the pump can then recover the small pressure drop.
@@dragonflygameruk4094 i stoped the âfuel saverâ idea and its a pure PID control, target press is 57 now Edit I also need to change the mining program as well so if itâs on the ground it turns off the pipe analyzers. Itâs set now that if the eng is in the pump and analyzers are on, auto shutoff turns em off and I kinda need those analyzers on all time kind of
@charlesheath7571 I deliberately kept the control mechanism as simple as possible. The only measurement I take for the engine input pressure is to read the small fuel tank pressure, no need for an analyser. If the small tank presurre drops below 55MPa the pump turns on. However, when the engine shuts down the pump automatically shuts off without any input from me. It does mean I have to make sure to turn it back on before igniting the engine. It sprt of a pre-ignition check list. Pump on, small tank pressure at 55MPa, engine on.
@@dragonflygameruk4094 at first I used that script, slt 57000 pump on it worked for a while. After I made the rocket larger 4 fuelsages and a nose come (about 15kN weight in take off) it kept crashing with that script.

A cross between a Horse and a Boar, a Boarse I would say. đ
Boarse, I like it. I might have to use that in future đ
to save inside space I place the drying wrack outside, will work just as well
@arthurcarkeek258 thanks of the tip đ I never thought of putting it outside because in my head it would attract bears and wolves and how's the meat supposed to dry in the rain.
@@dragonflygameruk4094 As you may know, the worst animals are not interested in dead meat...it's your arse they want lol.
