LINKOnline Webinar: More Birds in the Bush - Findings from a 5 year Endeavour research programme
Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research researchers have been working with partners in an MBIE Endeavour research programme to discover the most important interventions to protect our iconic native birds.
We have new understanding of how food resources, climate, and management affect predators and bird outcomes, and developed models for improved outcomes for native bird species in different forest types.
In this webinar, Susan presents some highlights of what we’ve learned, and extends an invitation to attend a full 2-day online wrap-up webinar in June.

LINKOnline Webinar: Leaching losses from diverse pasture
zhlédnutí 33Před 28 dny
Leaching losses from livestock farming are impacting New Zealand’s freshwater quality and represent a loss of valuable nutrients that could otherwise support production. Use of more diverse pastures is one potential approach for mitigating leaching losses that is supported by ecological theory. However, there are few measurements to verify their efficacy for reducing leaching. As part of a proj...

LINKOnline Webinar: Soil Quality, Water Quality and Land Use Pressure
zhlédnutí 63Před 2 měsíci
The general relationship between soil quality, water quality and land use pressures has been recognised at a local level - but how do we measure or use this relationship to help predict impacts of changing land use at a broader scale? With the availability of national land valuation data, and several years of soil quality monitoring data the team saw an opportunity to test linkages between land...

Kia ora Katarina, which harakeke did you use please? The best variety for making a putiputi?
Typical, just found this video. I suspected this disease is man made, looks like it is. It’s evil
Wasp is very bad
Where is this amazing patch of Harakeke?
Katerina that's my middle name,.where are you from ?
but... what else is disappearing? thing(s) we need and want? And, some say that ragwort is helful bedicinally - what to do with that info?
Is there captive breeding of the two endemic bird species so that they are preserved ex situ as long as the island is infested with mice?
Thanks
Dear sir, Actually I want to classify tree species from high resolution image (12.5 cm). First of all I tried to experiment for individual tree crown segmentation using YOLO-8 model but in my case I have found multiple polygon for each tree instead of a single polygon. Can you please advise me why it happened?
Excellent work, great talk, very informative. 👍
Bring on the shrooms....They are better people than us.
Great Video, good to have some remarks about carbon credits
I was analysing your CZcams channel. Your content is amazing, I really enjoyed it. I noticed one thing: according to your channel, your channel videos are not viewed and subscribed. You Need to optimise your channel and do video SEO to reach your target audience. Otherwise, if you upload videos to your channel throughout the year, none of your videos will get viral views. If your channel is optimised and if the videos are SEO then your channel will rank very fast and your channel will grow. And monetization of your channel will be on. I look forward to hearing from you.
You have done an excellent demo mam.It is very useful for me.I will try with my falm leaf.
What did you learn and what can we learn?
Hey, can you please the model which is identifying the trees. It will be very helpful to me. Also it's great work. I really like it. Thank you
This is a good series of videos. I think I think you could do to improve things is put a mike on your speakers. Because with the stationery mike they volume goes up and down a lot as they move around when speaking.
Kia ora 😀 Wonderfully inspiring kōrero Melanie i'm so happy that i came across your webinar this afternoon.

So how will this be used? Is it about protecting biodiversity by scaring the cats away?
Scientists now have the entire genetic sequence of the stoat. I am thrilled . . .
you're doing a good job. Is it possible that I can get your codes and datasets, just for practice ? thank you
Can you add the link to where we would find the Q&As and further information that was mentioned?

Hallo Bird/ Nature lovers ! I’ve had noticed since last year Swallows in our garden ...morning/ evening greeting us with her beauty ❤ Westauckland
Dr Ofenmu's CZcams channel is great . He has been very attentive to my health issues . I have had complicated health problems and he has addressed them all . He is very kind and patient . I am very grateful for him..
This is such a great idea. What a cool and fun activity to have with your kids too. There's so many ways to make this a little more fun and exciting by having a little competition with the kids to see who can spot the most birds, fastest to spot the birds, who can spot the rarest bird, who can name the species of birds etc. It's also a really great way to encourage kids to care about the other animals we share this planet with.
Thank you 👍🇳🇿
Horehound is EXTREMELY beneficial. It cures an array of lung issues. It also aids in digestion. You’re idiots.
Examination of Moriori Skulls there is a direct link to melanesian influence in the Chatham islands. Why is this not examined especially as it would explain a lot of the invading maori tribes genocide of the moriori.
😂explain how malenesian influence of the Moriori peoples genetics m supposed to invoke genocide and how was it a genocide when they're alive and always have been....If 2 of many tribes in Aotearoa(New Zealand)can admit their wrong doing In causing nothing but tyranny against a peaceful people what do Colonizing European settlers in Aotearoa(New Zealand )have to say about the fact their government created deceitful facts about the moriori people being extinct due to Maori warfare all in order to having the Maori slandered as Savage and Barbaric land thieves to uphold the notion that English colonizer is superior..A projection non the less used against the oppressed .
Trying to get rid of Himalayan balsam in Porirua too. Will there be a connection between verified records on iNaturalist and Landcare databases? It can be useful for picking up new and invasive species.
Should be giving free vaccine for pet rabbits

Does NZ , have any shitake type mushrooms , or reishi types ? Puff balls , when young , - all white inside , can be eaten by people , as a steak , depending on the size - test for ripeness before picking , should remain solid .
Cool
There is a small percentage of teenagers in the PNW of the USA who have tackled this beast and HATE IT. I'm here because I'm one of those grown up kids. Do y'all use weed wrenches and yank them out of the ground? I hate this stupid plant that's eating the dune land in Oregon. Everytime I go back to the place I took them out there are more plants- and I am without a weed wrench

how about putting you loss rate as a % of hives lost, also how about listing reasons attributable to those losses ( AFB / Varroa ) esp, and list those losses as raw numbers or % ages

Kia ora whānau i found a fungus basket today on Motueka spit amongst the lupin while we were doing weed control but it smelt like a sweet and salty caramel smell. What would the reason be why it smelt delicious lol. Ngā mihi 🙏
To help speard it , like the yellow slime mould , and the psyiciben , are also nibbled on . It may also be worth it , as an eabildle - check it out , and try to find out what it was feeding on , as you maybe able to get a medium to grow it , like native oyster mushroom .
Awesome!
Great! it a nice presentation.
I disagree that you're most likely to see them on the west coast or Northland I've worked on a heck allot farms and you always hear the wee characters in the shelter belts.
Very very nice 👍👍
