@@MontrealRides We have supercars too, Luc Poirier lives near me, he's got a 31 Ferrari collection, sometimes he brings one from his warehouse, i know where's some of the Habs players lives, most have moved, like Price and Weber, don't know if the newer players lives in Candiac, will have to do a little research lol.

If you mean Ville Mont-Royal (Town of Mount-Royal, or TMR), I rode through it recently, but didn't have my GoPro. The mansions are more in Westmount, which is pretty close. Thanks for the suggestion! 👍 I'll plan one of my future routes to tour the big mansions!

When there is no traffic behind me, I usually move into the regular car lane, and I do keep an eye open for any silhouettes of heads inside the parked cars. There are only about 100 bikes getting doored per year in my city, so the odds are low, but I keep it in mind. I don't have much of a choice to ride next to parked cars, since my UQi+ is legally an e-bike (it's got pedals on it, but I don't use them) and in Quebec I have certain limitations. Also, because my e-moped has footrests, I'm not even suppose to go on bike paths (extra city bylaws in Montreal), but cops tolerate it since it's safer for me and takes me off the main roads.

While Montreal is not the best when it comes to bike lanes, it does try hard, so it's up there. What city are you in that they don't have good cycling infrastructure?

Exactement! Bien dit! Montréal a déjà des intersections avec les bordures peinturées en jaune depuis quelques années, indiquant qu'il ne faut pas se stationner au coin de la rue. Mais ces tracés jaunes ne sont pas toujours au coins de rue qui en ont besoin (comme celui-ci), et plusieurs automobilistes n'y font pas attention. Road safety is a constant uphill battle!

En effet, il faut toujours être attentif sur la route, même quand on on le droit de passage. Si je ne faisais pas attention, je ne me serais pas arrêté à temps. Si tu regardes la vue plus large dans la partie supérieure de la vidéo, tu peux voir que, dès que le véhicule entre dans mon champ de vision, je mets mes mains sur les freins. Et dès que je vois qu'il ne s'arrête pas, je freine. Un rappel, le conducteur est dans une zone scolaire, je n'ai pas de stop mais il en a un, il doit traverser une piste cyclable, il y a un parc pour bambins tout près, il a sa femme et ses enfants dans la voiture, etc. Son visage après cet événement en était un de honte et d'excuse et sa femme le regardait avec un certain mépris...

I don't have a stop, but the driver does. He's also crossing a cycling lane in a school zone next to a children's playground. And, yes, if I did have a stop, it would be right before left. As you may have guessed from my reply to your comment on another one of my videos, they're tubeless. A lot of what's happening to me on this bike is a first-time experience. It's a great learning experience!

Thanks for the positive feedback! 👍 Before changing the tyre, I did patch it using a tubeless patching kit. I then just inflate using the air pump. But it didn't hold, as the puncture's shape was awkward. I patched it again and filled it again, but just to survive the trip to the shop. I'm now looking into preventive sealants.

Like me, you must miss the Oldies 990 AM radio station. I'll see if there are any free-to-use tunes that sound like classic rock. FlatOut's website has a version of their product for smaller wheels, like mopeds, scooters and EUCs. It is not available on Amazon, at Canadian Tire, and other stores on-and offline, but only on their website. I may just buy it directly from them.

Thanks for the tip! I had heard about sealants, but never looked into it. After my puncture experience and your comment, I did some research. I think it's a good idea! At least, it will help save money, since a sealant costs much less than a new tire! (As a side note, CZcams didn't like the mention of a brand name. I have marked you and your comments as "not spam", but it will take some time for your comment to appear.)

Most of these people were just crossing, but I can just imagine how much more packed it was during the eclipse itself. (a bit like the fireworks, I imagine)

Hey, thanks for watching! It's actually my first purchase, having only entered the world of 2-wheels in the Spring of last year. I'm working my way up! This one's an electric moped that's small enough to legally be a bike. The next one will likely be a scooter, and after that a motorcycle. As for the cam and mic setup, I'm using the GoPro HERO12 Black with the Media Mod. The Media Mod adds 2 mic and comes with a windscreen to block out the noise of rushing air, while still capturing other sounds clearly. The camera is attached to a chest harness (the GoPro 5 version) so my head is actually above the frame. As for video settings, I've never actually looked at it, and I'm noticing I could improve it! LOL! Here's what they are for now: Bit Rate: Standard (I'm changing it to High) Bit Depth: 8-bit (even if I change it, it says 4K videos will still use 8-bit, so leaving it as is) Anti-Flicker: 60 Hz Digital Lens: Wide View Standard Quality (best for 4k, no need to record in 5.3K) You asking me this has made me research (and actually turn ON) the advanced settings on my GoPro (something called Protune). So here are more settings I haven't touched yet: Shutter: Auto EV Comp: 0 White Balance: Auto ISO Min: 100 ISO Max: 1600 Sharpness: Medium (I think I'll change that one to High) Colour: Natural Now I'm gonna spend a few hours reading articles on what each of these settings are and what the effects of adjusting each does.

@MontrealRides All bikes are great fun. I I even enjoy cycling, but one of the best things I ever done was my bike licence.I learned so much from it I would totally recommend it was great fun. I've watched loads of videos on camera setups. One thing I found helpful was changing the max iso . I set the camera up with 4k 30fps and 60 fps and tried them on different iso .I found it best to keep the iso max below 400 . But if it's too dark, just put it up a bit.

Hey there! My battery is the standard one: 48V / 31Ah / 1488Wh The extended battery is: 48V / 42Ah / 2016Wh It's a 500W motor with a max continuous power of 750W. There's a link to the Niu UQi+ product page in my videos' description. Check it for more tech specs! They say the standard battery has a range of 65 to 85 km (or 40 to 52 miles). But if you're riding at top speed on Mode 1 (Economy Mode), it's at most 65 km, but the last 15%are in power-saving mode with a top speed of 15 km/h. Top speed on Mode 1 Economy = 30 km/h (though I've topped 32 km/h) (18 mph topping at 20 mph) Top speed on Mode 2 Sport = 35 km/h (though I've topped 38 km/h) (22 mph topping at 24 mph) The top range in Mode 2 will be smaller, since there's a bigger battery drain. With the middle box I've added, I could carry a second battery with me, and switch them once the first one is drained, which would allow me double the range. But, just the standard battery is roughly $1500 in Canadian dollars. That's half the cost of the whole bike! 😃 Thanks for watching my videos! EDIT: There's a hacked motherboard that unlocks Mode 3 Turbo, with even greater speeds but much lesser range because of the extra battery drain. Where I live, it ain't exactly street legal. 😉

Yeah, I've been told the deers in that Parc Nature (Pointe-aux-Prairies) are social with humans. Next time I plan on riding through it, I will absolutely bring them something to snack on and get some close-up footage. 🥕👍 I'm still stuck in bed with a cold. 🤧 I hope to be well enough for Monday's total solar eclipse! Not yet. I was on the southern shoreline of the Island, not on the South Shore. Tricky wording, lol... I'll be going to Brossard at some point this spring. I also want to use the Estacade du Pont Champlain to ride the long bike path leading to Sainte-Catherine, once it warms up a bit more.

Very nice, very nice! There may be the question of "is it actually street legal?" But I don't know enough about these things to know. There's a tricky point of legality on the Island of Montreal when it comes to certain e-bikes. Mine, for example, has footrests ("marche-pied"). Because of that simple fact, I'm not suppose to use bike paths. But only on the Island. Anywhere else in the province, there's no problem, just like in Candiac. But cops tolerate it since it doesn't really bother anyone (except cycling purists, of course! 😀)

You're absolutely correct, and normally I wouldn't. In this case it's slightly different, because this little stretch of path is typically a multi-usage trail connecting the industrial sector (where I start) to the residential sector (where I end up). Hikers, bikers and skiers use this part of it. To my right are many square kilometres of forest where it's skiers and hikers only. But, I will avoid using this little path in the future, both for skiers and for myself. :D
