Pesticide Spraying Drones By The Peacock Farm, Peacock Minute, peafowl.com
On the latest episode of a peacock minute, Mr. Peacock tells how life is never the same every day on the Peacock farm when one morning after doing chores, he heard a strange buzzing sound very close to his farm. He went to investigate and it was a pesticide spraying drone over the corn crop. Mr. Peacock learned of drones being used for spraying in 2023 and he then thought it won't be long before they'll be doing it by the Peacock farm. Hopefully the drones will not fly over the Peacock pens as the birds might think they are predators. Learn more about this new technical way of spraying pesticides in farm country USA.

    I have no idea if there's another way to send you a message on here but I have findings so I set up a little experiment and I split up the eggs to where I put a couple from each batch and to one incubator and a couple into another one incubator and maintaining at 60 the other one I'm maintaining at 65 The 60% humidity incubator it looks like only two eggs are developing The 65 has at least four potentially six that developing I'm trying to only change one variable at a time and do it this way so that there's a control versus what I do with the other one so that I can kind of see what's working and what's not that altitude sickness in the egg presents like you know how there's a little curve at the bottom of the air sack the ones that get altitude sickness there is no curve or very very little it's almost like the membrane at the air sac dissolved oddly enough they do stay to the correct side of the egg and don't move around like a detached air sac but they do not hold that same curve to the air sack that the healthy eggs do I wanted to ask what you do for starter I'm trying to get organized for hatch day and it seems like everybody does something a little bit different but if you have any advice on starter it would greatly appreciate it

      I still think about when we formulated the agriculture chemicals with Lowell at the plant, we had to wear full face respirators, rubber gloves, and Tyvek suits. Then the applicators just spray it without thinking about how it could harm others. We then eat the food. You should have the right to grow your own organic food.

    • @MisterPeacock
      @MisterPeacock Před měsícem

      We just given up, trying to grow our own food which is organic. These applicators and seed planters may someday realize what they've done to the environment and themself and others. • @TD-ce5ru
      @TD-ce5ru Před měsícem

      Deep down they know. But the Agriculture chemical business provides good paying jobs. The companies justify it and convince the employees, consumers, and public by spinning that there would be a world food shortage and starvation without the chemicals. Maybe that could be the case, so it is up to us as individuals to try to protect ourselves. You have an awareness many do not have. You are one up on most.

He's used to it unless something changes it like the weather or something changes his routine. But he always goes back to what he's done before. Where do you live? Do you live in Florida or California. Those are hotspots in the USA for wild peacocks causing problems. If you need more specific help, we do have a fee support on my website peafowl.com and I can help you that way, but I doubt that I'll hear from you. Any advice or input about altitude effects on hatch rate?

    • @MisterPeacock
      @MisterPeacock Před měsícem

      Very interesting question. I live at 1300 feet above sea level. And I once lived in the Black Hills South Dakota at 7000 feet above sea level. Cooking and baking. Everything was a chore at that altitude. Here's my speculation about altitude and eggs in a higher altitude. I believe that you'll have to watch the moisture level very carefully and constantly candle them after about 14 days and keep track of the air space. I really don't have any clue as to what the altitude will do to the hatch rate. Maybe you can keep track of it and then right back to me at my website peafowl.com and will report and make a video on that once you figure that out. What part of the world are you writing from and what is your altitude?. Thanks for the view

    • @MisterPeacock
      @MisterPeacock Před měsícem

      Your question intrigued me, so I did a Google search and this is what I found and it was interesting. "When incubating eggs at high altitudes, slower embryo growth, longer incubation periods and lower hatchability have to be expected. These problems could be solved by building a hatchery that can be pressurised to sea level atmospheric pressure" Who is going to do this? You have to tell me if you have any experience with what they said in this Google search. I hope this helps you. It sure taught me something new.

    As an eight-year-old, I was there for the dedication in 1966, my family having lived in Ames, at the time. Going up in the tower, at that age, was pretty exciting. Perhaps that's when my ardor for going to the top of tall buildings began. I've been to the top of the Empire State Building, the South Tower of the original World Trade Center, 101 Taipei in Taiwan, the Burj Khalifah in Dubai, and Petronas Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Still, the much more modestly sized Mahaney Tower has a special place in my heart. I've been there twice more, once in 1968 and another time about fifteen years ago. By the way, I can say that there were, indeed, two guests at the commemoration of the tower in 1966 named "Mr. and Mrs. Peacock." They were my great-great aunt Lura Peacock (who would live to be 106) and her husband, Mr. Purl Peacock, a veteran of World War I. So, this video was a delightful and unexpected surprise for me, the result of Googling "Purl Peacock" and "Jefferson, Iowa." Not at all what I had expected but great fun, nevertheless!

    A feral peacock came to us 11mos. ago he . A short time ago we began hearing a call of another peacock. The more we heard it the more electronic it sounded. I know his distress call from his reaction to feral cats getting in to it. He is now at a property close to ours. We thought he would return to his home once his female called.Another peacock showed up a couple of years ago and that's how it went for him. When I go out in our yard I will hear him call followed by a screech-honk. It's now rare to hear any of his normal calls. I think he knows I'm near, but I don't think he can leave. He was never ours but I hate to think he may be trapped and can't leave. I hope I'm wrong. Just needed to vent.

      @MisterPeacock Před 2 měsíci

      Nobody knows for sure where he might be. I would just listener him see if you can find him and then you'll know if he's safe or not. I wouldn't worry. Just keep your eyes and ears open. You never said what part of the world you come from. Thanks for the view.

      Thank you for your kind words. We too are hoping for the businesses and residents to have a speedy recovery. We are scrambling to find a new Peacock feed supplier since the tornado took the entire building and left just the foundation.

    I hope everyone recovers quickly. You must go there for everything, gas groceries dr.s, all the mailing that you do with those gorgeous feathers and hatching eggs. My heart goes out to all who were affected by those horrible storms.

    You have every right to be upset and are not overreacting. I worked with Mrs Peacocks father at the chemical plant in Omaha. What a great guy Lowell was. I am sure he told and taught her just how bad the chemicals really are. We produced them in the safety gear that you are wearing, then the end user sprays it on our food.

    • @MisterPeacock
      @MisterPeacock Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks for reviewing this important video. Yeah, we got a lot of pushback from the farmers and seed planters from around our property. We are the problem apparently not them. Mrs. Peacock learned all about the dangers of these chemicals that they're putting on our food from her father who actually made them for the companies who sell them to farmers. And he always had to wear safety gear and the ones who didn't always ended up getting sick. Remember all the stories. Love to know who you are...you can share that with us if you want to on our website peafowl.com e-mail.

    • @TD-ce5ru
      @TD-ce5ru Před 3 měsíci

      Will do. Look for an email. The chemical companies and those of us that made a living in the Agricultural chemical workplace justified it because it helped feed the world . But deep down, you knew that there has to be another way. Hopefully some day there will be better/safer products.
