Vince gave him a chance - the youngest guy ever to get a contract...and he screwed it up. Just like he's screwed up over and over again in organization after organization. It's been obvious for 10+ years that if he ever had the wherewithal to pull it all together, it's now gone. Maybe he never did. All the years of drugs and alcohol haven't helped. He was always like every sketchy, con, druggie you meet - unreliable, a bit off, nonsensical at times, inconsistent, stories that don't quite make sense, hypocrisy, and in the end UNRELIABLE. You may even like them, and think they're decent people, and even sympathize....but in the end, you just can't trust them. Something always happens, they always screw up. A massive company like WWE could never rely on that. You can't just no-show there, or end up changing what you said you'd do, or go into business for yourself - in the ring or on the mic, unless you're a proven superstar and have proved what you'll do will be great. Watch any interview with him...and ask yourself: would I invest savings in this guy and go into business with him. NO...of course you wouldn't - like him or not.
