The Build : Our customer to our Gorleston store requesting we could build something a little bit special.
He is a very keen mountain biker and often visits the mountains around Wales to take on the challenging terrain.
This time he wanted to fire up his inner youth again with a jump bike so that he could attempt all the tricks he used to do when he was a kid so how could we refuse?
The bike frame is a DMR Sect which we dressed with a full Hope product build. This includes Fortus 26 inch pro 5 wheels set up tubeless ,Hope carbon bars and seat post. Gravity stem , Hope Evo Cranks and chainring, Tech 4 E4 brakes .
Gusset Union Jack saddle and gusset grips . To absorb all those impacts a set of Rockshox Pike air forks.

People don't want "good advice" - they want reassurances (..someone once said...), so thanx! I ordered it just the other day, mainly due to its weight limit of 125 kg / 275.5778 pound. Other makes within the range of my wallet stop at 110-115 kg. Also, the tyre clearance is out of the ordinary for a road bike. 🙏

Can you make the bike with tire clearance for 650b x 50mm?
This is not true. Titanium frame is *not* more comfortable than modern carbon fiber biikes with lower modulus unidirection upper half of frames. Also it's not stiffer than carbon bikes in lower half of frames. Next to that shape of carbon bikes further increasing benefitial properties and looks is not achievable wtih Ti bikes. So these are lies, titanium is inferior to carbon bikes at around same price for high end frames, if not even more expensive than superior carbon. It's not nice to lie to people.
Yes, it is true. Ti frames have more of a "real feel" than even the most advanced nanocarbon frames. I own a custom Ti Seven and it is superior to any carbon frame (I'm an ex-pro CAT-2).
@@MetalheadDoon Carbon is stiffer where it counts, is more flexible where it counts as I explained, it's lighter, it's actually stronger for the same weight, especially in the way its made for lower half of frame, its virtually fully resistant to corrosion, it does not change almost at all (especially in comparison to ti) due to thermal expansion, having no changes in density ever, hence being better at longevity and consistence than Ti, etc. All of those properties are literally doubled (literally) by creating any wanted shape, hence durability, stiffness, and compliance where needed are adjusted by the shape itself, etc. Well made modern high end carbon fiber with unidirection lm upper half of frame is more durable, lighter, does not change over time, etc. It is VERY FAR superior to ti that its actually not even an argument and its not a matter of opinion. Sorry
@@NiohNiohYT I don't care what you think. I'm an ex-pro CAT 2 and have ridden every type of frame material made and nothing compares to the feel of steel (especially the new air-hardened steel). Metal is superior to any plastic, carbon, or wood in ride quality. You think that your right, and that's your right. I have studied metallurgy and have been racing bicycles for the past 30 years.

Its basic phsyics, and you are making a clown of yourself by saying you studied mettalurgy. I explained everything in above comments, and I have just given you factual information, not an opinion. Carbon is sueprior despite you being a fanboy of metal frame. Sorry :(
they don't seem to do custom sizing
Hi Sabian, No custom sizing but you can spec the crank length, stem length and handlebar width. The geometry is fantastic with the J.Guillem bikes so unless you have a extra long torso or similar the sizing should be ideal for most riders. We keep bikes in stock in our stores so if you want to come and try a size you are very welcome to. :)
