Celestron Power Tank - how to replace the battery
zhlédnutí 8KPřed 3 lety
Should take you about 20 minutes to replace the battery. I purchased the battery (SLA12-7F Duracell Ultra 12V 7AH AGM SLA Battery) from Batteries Plus. Here's a link to it: www.batteriesplus.com/productdetails/sla12=7f
excellent video and instructions. I replaced mine this morning and it took half an hour. (It would have been quicker if I got the correct posi screwdriver first. Bought battery from Amazon for £20 standard Duracell DR7-12.. Once again thankyou.

Thank you kind sir for sharing these instructions! I too was able to easily replace the battery in my old Power Tank using them. Much appreciated!
Thanks for this. :)
Excellent tutorial! Many thanks for putting this online, i've a feeling i'm going to need it to revive my PowerTank.
Ryobi one+ 18v 120-Watt Push Start Power Source with 12-Volt Outlet RYi12VBG No battery replacement ever.
I was going to buy a used one but found this for $50 and due to my use of power tools and various 18v the $ and the R&R battery is a better choice. One loss Red Light Im working on a Usb plug in LED Red light.
Will the ryobi one plus power a celestron 8se with 12v plug? How long will it last?
Thank you. This has saved me a bit of cash as I thought I'd have to buy a new power tank.
Would be great to put a lithium power bank instead
Thank you for this informative video! 😀
Great video! Thanks for sharing this with us. I'll now replace my battery in my power tank. I made the mistake of storing my my power tank and it wasn't being charged as it should have been.
What screw head on your screw driver did you use? I have various types in my screw driver head collection. But none fit properly.
A regular plus screwdriver slightly on the smaller side
Dude, you are awesome. I just replaced the battery in one of my 10 year old Power Tanks. Super easy. Now I am going to order a battery for my second Power Tank that has been resisting charging. Celestron told me al long as the battery fits in the interior, it won't matter what the AH is, so I found this one: ML8-12 - 12 Volt 8 AH, F1 Terminal. I will be able to revive 2 $80 Power tanks. Thanks!!!!
Cheers mate.
Thanks to your easy to follow instructions, I replaced mine in 15 mins. Good fallout on switches falling out , they did , and we're back in quickly.
Top instruction, mate...good job!
Thank you. This was so helpful, and well done. I've just ordered a new battery and now I know how to replace it. The old battery lasted 9 years. Not bad, huh? Especially considering that I've only recharged it maybe 6 times in 9 years. I'm not good at following instructions, so I guess this is what I get.
Celestron recommends charging it monthly.
i have a small bracket and 2 screws left over. I have no idea where they go !
Thanks! That was very helpful and easy. I just replaced my battery following your instructions! 👍
Bueno, creo que te ha faltado algo que no has sacado... La bombilla pequeña hay que sacarla también, si no, no sale. No entiendo porqué no lo sacas también en el vídeo... ☹️
very nice video, thank you! I wonder if the 17mah unit is the same as this smaller one?
Thanks Unmesh. Appreciate you taking the time to make and share this video. Very good and very easy to understand.
great tutorial. thank you very Much. Mine died because I got lazy too and didn't recharge each month. Cheers 👍
You sir are a lifesaver (I was about to throw this out)
Thank you! Great information!
I think I'd replace it with a 12v Lithium Battery.
Can it be replaced with a lithium battery?
Thank you !! I wish somebody has made a video how to replace a Assy Alt/Dec motor on Celestron 4SE.
Thank you. God bless.
Thank you so much for this!
