1973 BMW 2002 Tii ITB's - Hillclimb Clip
A snippet of a run up Hartside Pass from last summer.
A clip I've just noticed on my phone whilst making space.
I'll be aiming to get a little more footage this year once the car is back on the road.
Cheers!

BMW 2002 Tii Racetech Tacho Test

I did have a signal converter so my ecu could run the standard tacho but it couldnt really keep up! Hopefully all of this will be solved with this tacho from Racetech, early signs look good!
1973 BMW 2002 Tii - An evening run up Hartside Pass
zhlédnutí 1,6KPřed 4 lety
A run out whilst the weather was nice in the 2002. The best thing about these old cars is you get as much enjoyment out of them all you'll ever need and still keep things very sensible. My example is over braked, over tyred and over 'suspensioned', which makes it a joy to get up to speed and just thread the corners together. Hope you enjoy.

Afr check post fitting of airbox. No power loss, fuelling stayed more or less the same and it made a bit more torque low down.

I love this video! Watching it for the twentieth time) Have you changed the camshaft?
haha brilliant, yes it has a different cam, lots of headwork, more compression, throttle bodies etc. It made a great sound!
One of my favorite Cars in Forza Motorsports 4 .. Xbox 360...
What is your exhaust set up on this? It’s one of the best sounding m10’s I’ve been able to find on CZcams
It has a custom equal length manifold and a Martellius exhaust system, thanks for the kind words and sorry for the late response!
Sounds great Hope he’s got some upgraded brakes there
It does 😀

Nice video, owned 2 of those, last one w/ 45 webers and power near 170. Know every bolt on them intimately and loved every km driven. Fond memories? You bet. Sold last one at age 31 and never looked back. An experience of my late youth.
Only 151 subscribers but 19k views simply shows how popular this car is.
Such a cool Car 😎
Looks good sounds good.
Beautiful video
Looks good ... sounds great
What wheels are those?
La gti avant la gti....
I had those 3 piece BBS 6 inch on my 74 2002. 4 inch in 2 inch out. Used Never Dull to polish them. They always got the looks.
Does that seriously have shift lights?!? That is so cool if that is factory!
Haha yes it's a shift light controlled off the ecu and fitted into the factory warning light position. It was set too low in this video though!
2002❤🧡🖤

This is now my new alarm clock sound
Amazing car and freakin sweet photo. Keep that 25 fps format Best video quality I’ve seen this year. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What do you mean by 25fps?
@Météor de Niort I know.. but why 25fps..?
@Météor de Niort I know ;) I just wanted to know why he think it's the best to use 25 - and why he thinks it is that way .. doesn't matter man.. do you also make video?
I adore this car and everything it stands for
Cheers matey!
Me too.
Excellent sound :D. Scott, Are you running an EFI or do you somehow retain your Kugelfischer injection system ? if so, does it work with the Jenvey's? Im really interested in this setup for my tii motor, as i'd like to keep the KF and the injectors but cant find any info on such a setup online. Would be very happy to get some info on this :) thanks a lot
The period Alpina itbs were like that with a tweaked kugel pump but I've not got any of the standard injection any more and run a modern motorsport ecu. That's the best bit, starts first time every time hot or cold and not limited by the pump. They also cost around £2.5k to rebuild in the UK.
A wonderful car but its injection pump is an extremely difficult one to fix, should it become faulty. I believe there's only one gent in the UK who can do the job properly {apart from BMW themselves, who'd want an absolute fortune to undertake}, if indeed the aforementioned chap is still above ground. From memory, is it a K -Jetronic system ? All mechanical, obviously, with internal springs and God knows what other complexities.
Thanks and the original injection pump is a Kugelfischer system, which this car no longer has. A refurb of the original fuel pump is around £2.5k, crazy. There's a link to the full video in the description, that this footage was for, that explains a little more about the car and how it came about if you want to see a little more.
@@scottdosborne Ah, that's great to hear Scott, you'll have no future anxieties then. I saw a bright green 2002 a few years ago, driving past my mother's old house, but it was the standard carbed model. Still a lovely car, in spite of being a bit less powerful. Road tax exempt and free of damn limp mode and other worrisome modern tech. Best regards from Burry Port, West Wales.
Looks like alot of fun , definitely love all the 02 series
Awesome car man! And amazing sound! How is it to drive? In terms of noise?
It's pretty loud but not too bad, it's still got full carpets and sound deadening and its fairly civilized if you're not full throttle. I drove it 800 miles to Germany and back, i drive it to work and back during summer, sit in traffic etc and then go out for blasts in the hills. It's great. I do have an airbox to fit if i want to quieten it down a little too but generally just run an unrestricted filter.
@@scottdosborne love it man. Since your video on that other channel I’ve been looking into going EFI and ITB’s on my e30 \w m10 💪🏼
@@JimmyJamesMarquees glad to be a bad influence!
This video reminds me (1) of my 1972 2002 Agave that I bought new while I was in college that I had for 14 years and almost 200k miles, and (2) 2002s were made to go around corners. Thanks for the reminder.
Thanks and you're welcome! They can be made to handle so well and still be comfortable.
Nice, but not a tii anymore!
Very cool car! What you did to the engine? And wich gearbox are you running?
Always makes me smile seeing a classic getting a thrashing, exactly how it would’ve been treated in its younger days, sweet sounding 2002, I’m guessing ITBs from the induction noise?
Thanks Jack, appreciate it. It gets molly coddled in terms of maintenance etc. but gets used properly when i get chance to go for a blast, otherwise whats the point! Hopefully this year will see the odd track day now its niggles are ironed out too. Yes its on itb's.
God damn, that's how that car should be driven. Well done sir. That engine sound with the ITB's is next level.
Sounds amazing! Keep the videos coming! You're an inspiration to fellow 2002 owners. Are you still using the original Kugelfischer fuel injection?
Thank you, appreciate the kind words! No it's on jenvey individual throttle bodies now much better!
Scott, sounds excellent! What's your exhaust setup?
Thanks Loren, it's from Martellius, very happy with it!
Where did you get the air box from?
Great sound, great car! Nice seeing a 2002 driven just how/where it should!
Gorgeous ride Scott! Greetings from M&M /// Joao
Great video - where can we see some photos of the car?
Hi thank you! There's a full build post on the 02forum.co.uk under project blogs if you had wanted to take a look.
Wanted to go out for a drive with my 1602 after while watching this Video!! Doesnt sound as good as your 2002! You got a nice car, looks well build!
Thank You, I'm glad it's getting people wanting to go out in theirs more! I've done my best with the build so appreciate the kind words.
The sound....
Sweet exhaust note!
Nice video Scott ... what you using to film..? GoPro??
Cheers Cameron, it's old older Go Pro session I used for biking.
Scott Osborne very stable, I’ve tried using iPhone but just no good.
It sounds so good I can’t wait to be following you down there in mine!
One day matey, look forward to it!
What cam and compression ratio are you running?
It's got quite an aggressive catcams cam in it and 10.5:1
@@scottdosborne Cool, do you know what the duration is? Thanks for sharing!
I felt in love with this BMW when I saw this car in a music video of one of my fave artists ✌️🚙
More. Need more videos!
So Scott what did it end up turning at the wheels? Sounds like a really strong engine. Camshaft really suits it and great tune.
Hi, it did 150 at the wheels so i was really happy with the result.
@@scottdosborne that's very healthy! Sounds like an honest dyno too listening to how your engine revs etc. Lots of "200hp" m10s out there.
More videos!
Good performance out of the tough old 8v. What camshaft and compression are you running?
Thanks, plenty more in it for the future too as it's only around 10.5 but it's running quite a big Catcams camshaft (still nowhere near their biggest)
Hello! Ive got question for you. Im new there and I need some help to find these tracks, because i dont have any idea how to get there.
