It’s so strange when contestants don’t take the judges’ consistent advice when they still have time to make changes.

David and Remy, you put up a valiant fight! I’m sure I would have been throwing a tantrum over the inferior ovens that you had to use, but you soldiered on. The wedding cake was bad luck for you, but it was a magnificent idea. Well done you guys! I would love to visit your bakery and try all your exquisite pastries, but unfortunately I live in Australia, so it will just be something to dream about. 🥰

I lost respect for this show when the challenge was for Portuguese tarts, where the main ingredient is eggs. One of the bakeries was vegan. Whoever chose the challenge was a jerk!

This format of the judges frequently visiting the contestants and offering criticism at every turn is very annoying.

My god, that female judge sure can handle a mouthful. I don't think I've ever seen another woman take huge bites like she does. Why such a huge bite?

The couple loved the Maison Mayci cake and then the judge pronounces it to be dry. Not to mention that she also said they had never made a wedding cake before - neither had the others (the father of the winners had) but she didn't feel the need to share that. Not saying the winners didn't deserve it but . . .

As one who has made many wedding cakes, I had to wonder if the British use dowels to support the tiers of a stacked cake. Surely they must. Also, is it traditional for English wedding cakes to be covered and decorated with fondant? Piping roses would be faster, tastier, and allow for more variation in color. Nonetheless, congratulations to the winners and the runners up. I would love to visit each shop, especially Maison Mayci.

One thing I don't get. The couple asked for a pink cake of an unusual shape and lots of flowers - and they chose the traditionally shaped, white cake with a few flowers on top? 🤔 Would have been so beautiful with pale pink petals, I think!

All the way up to the wedding cake, I considered Mayci the clear winners. Brilliant job guys!! I only wish I could visit Birmingham and try your masterpieces!

Thanks for posting you learn new things. Appreciate this being up after all this time. I love how people cheat and they don't tell the judges that they didn't use the ingredient that was required what surprised me is the judges didn't catch it they just thought it was not enough filling. But the true Baker's one so great. This isn't the first show I've watched where the cheaters almost got to walk away with the prize
