Do You Really Need A 12 Volt Fridge Freezer??

Do You Really Need A 12 Volt Fridge Freezer??
All similar fridges when used as a freezer will require a lot of power to run. 250whrs per day for a fridge is pretty good. Works out to about 20amps per day or 0.8amps per hour. Be hard to find a fridge that size that uses less power. I don't think you researched the power consumption of 12V fridges. Ideal setup would be to have 100ah battery and small solar panel. Battery will power fridge for 4-5 days by itself with no solar. I have the same fridge and never had an issue not being able to power it 24/7. Unrealistic to try and run from just the car battery
Thanks for the comment!
ive just bought one. Ive got a 120ah leasiure battery with 190w solar panel In my camper. Do you think this is going to be ok to run continuously over say a week trip?
@buuuuuuuuuuuuuu just running the fridge in single zone at about 25 degrees and that's all, not charging anything else and zero solar I would expect to get about 2, 2 1/2 days from that battery if it's lithium. 1/2 that if it's lead acid or deep cycle. It uses about 300 watts in 24 hours at 70 degrees give or take if that helps with your math at all. If you have good solar all day and again that's all your running is the fridge and nothing else then yes in theory you could run it none stop. Hope that helps.
Maybe there is no window on the back so you can use that area as a screen to project movies...just a 🤔 thought
That is a good idea! I have seen an updated version of this tent and they've put windows on all sides now so no more in tent movies! Booooo! Thank you for the comment!
Hilarious. I want to see someone set up just the rainfly without the tent.
When I do my review I intend to show that.
Interesting review. I think showing it picked up would have been very helpful too. Thanks for the video.
I plan on making a review of the tent after a few more nights in it.
That screen bear proof?
No but my .40 is pretty bear proof lol
When the apocalypse comes I’m coming to find you!
Your welcome to IF you can find me lol
hey, what's up? 👻
Not much just uploading with the new starlink! I love it!
I got the 6p version for Christmas. My husband is building a 9x12 platform for it. Can't wait to use it. Thanks for the video.
I had the 6 person as well and it is also a very nice tent and just as easy to setup! Thanks for the comment!
Colman 4 Person Instant Tent
So you have the 6 man rainfly then? I ordered this tent yesterday but didn't get the rainfly yet.
No. Make sure you get the 4 man rainfly for it there different. Lemme know how you like it when you get it! I think you’ll enjoy the tent. Leave a comment on here when you spend a night or two in it.
@@miventure9625 ok thanks!
You mention a diesel heater that you use in this tent. Do you have a video of that heater? Im looking at this tent. Great video!
Thank you! I do not have a video on my diesel heater as of yet, but with it getting closer to cooler weather I will be doing one on it. It is a 5k all in one is that what you where looking for? If not ask a couple questions and I’ll try to answer them.
The only thing I can think of is are they safe in a tent? Do you need a chimney with it?
@padude131 ok I wasn’t sure what you wanted. So your best bet is to CZcams them and understand how they operate. That should answer most of your questions.
Since the rain fly doesn't cover much of the sides, how resistant are the walls to a driving rain? And is there a vestibule?
No vestibule at all. I have not had a problem with it leaking even in driving rain. The fly does hang off the side of the tent enough I think to not let the rain hit the sides.
Great review! I bought one of these tents a couple of years ago and did one trip with it. I enjoyed it very much! I put a tarp over the top with a couple of poles instead of the rainfly. The rain fly does not look like it covers very much and is too expensive, but with a 10x10 tarp, there is plenty of room to spare. We set up our camp chairs out the front and used the tarp as a porch. It is a much better system I think if you take the time to guy out the tarp properly. I plan to take it on solo trips soon because there is plenty of room to fit my cot and some tables in it. The price has jumped up quite a bit on Amazon since I purchased mine. For the price I paid, it was well worth it. Cheers.
Well thank you! Yeah I love that tent. I use it mainly in the winter because it works really good with my heater.
Thanks for the video. Quick question: Is there a big difference in Quality between this one and the Pop Up tent ?
What pop up tent are you referring to?
Oh man, you have too much free time........
Oh man, you have too much free time.
hey mate, have you tested this tent in much rain at all? the only thing keeping me from buying this tent atm is the waterproofing and rain protection. thanks
I would buy the rain fly. There’s a piece of fabric in the center of the rent roof that gets tied to frame. If that isn’t tied tight to the frame it creates a divot for water to settle in and leaks through there. Other then that no leaks for me but I’d get the fly just to be safe. I always use mine I never have had a problem. Hope this helps it’s a really good tent.
look at that paint, .. must park well at costco
Talk about bringing efficiency to a whole new level...WOW.
THIS IS MY ONE OF 12 YELLOW CHEBY CORVERTE kinda vibes, driving though an autozone isn't a build, there's zero fabrication on this. Nice ditch ornament tho.
Yay for Calvary Blue! 😁🤣 '13 CB FJ here...Voodoo was preferred, but no Voodoo for '13. CB grew on me fast and now amongst my favorites...funny how that works. Nice rig and I can't wait to watch all the videos of this build. Thinking about how I'd like to build mine. Nice equipment!
Hats off sir, built with love, the way it should be 👏👏👏
I'll take it! Pack it, Ship it, Bill me!
Lol I don’t think it’s for sale lol!
Very impressive build, a lot of thought I imagine or should I say You imagine. Do You know how much weight You added to your truck?
I’m not sure how much he added but i when I talked to him last fall I think he said total weight was like 6700-6800 pounds.
Nice Truck, Beauty Build!
You can’ see straight… lol, lol, lol, then how you drive that 4Runner?
Go to @10:57 lol
Oak Openings Metro park, camping, mountain bike trails, brewery, treehouses, 3000 plus acres of hiking. 70 miles of connected paved bike trails, equestrian trails. . Open all year. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the comment!
Finally a tent that actually does take under 2 mins
Yeah it’s really simple I was surprised as well how quick it setup.
I was a BSA scout master for 7 years and this was my go to tent. We camped every month, sometimes twice a month, so it saw a lot of use, and never leaked or failed me. Its fast and sturdy. Only problem with the 4 is you can’t stand all the way up to get dressed. If that’s an issue, go for the 6.
Thanks for the comment. I absolutely love this tent. Summer I use a different smaller tent that packs up smaller but here in the fall/winter/spring it works absolutely fantastic for the diesel heater I have. What’s funny is you know how I said I got it used? Well I bought it from a Scout master…..and the gentleman gave me the 6 person person one to go along with it. I couldn’t believe it and felt like I won the lottery! I’ve since gave the 6 person to a friend that needed a tent to kinda pay it forward.
Tie a knot on the guys either side of the front door? you will always know where to start and which way around the fly is.
I wanna know if we can pass the state inspections… Want you modify that roof? It needs to be inspected… And the taxes must be modified.
He doesn’t hardly do any of their himself. He gets the idea that I was sources at all.
What kind of a dweeb is this guy?
I've watched enough tent review videos to realize that when the person count basically means sleeping bags and sleeping like you're a lion in a pride or a den/pack of wolves lol. Tight and close knit.
This one would be REALLY tight for four that’s for sure!
Great video!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
I have this tent and it's great, you cant go wrong with this one, it is sealed on the sewing stitches so no water leaks. You can surely fit 4 people there it's no a hotel room it's a tent, but for a single person or a couple with child this tent would be very ideal.
Jeezus this owner talks slowly. Imagine him reading a Bible story…

This is a beautiful build
It's kinda rare YT recommends me a complete gem, but this was without a slightest doubt one of those rare occasions! I became an instant fan of yours and Ted's! What a trip, I feel relaxed just watching you two buds having the best time!
Ummm thanks……I think you’ve made a comment on the wrong video. But to whoever Ted is good on him sounds like it was a great video lol
I am sure Zeak has got an idea in the back of his head for the design and manufacture for some Sky Hooks and damm sure he will make some EXCELLENT WORK EXCELLENT TRUCK
How much did you spend on this build? - "Yes"
I got an outbound six man fur 139$ Cdn. Basically identical but 10'x9' x6' tall inside. The top has mesh that provides great ventilating. Made by woods.
Is the mesh a "no-see-um" mesh?
Yes it seems to be. It’s definitely tight enough woven to be that for sure.
colman?
My 4-man Coleman tent center bracket broke 😲 Hate when that happens 😋
Really??!!!! Those things seem like there pretty tough! Where you jumping on it?? Lol
Nice looks like a perfect tent for just myself which is what im looking for
It works really well for one person that is for sure. Thanks for the comment.
Too much crap on his 4runner.
What!! Are you kidding it’s perfect.
I don't know why they have so Many windows..! Lol bird watching in the rain.?
I drink a lot of beer when I go camping, the windows are great for venting all the beer farts out of the tent.
Good review, does your Battery have a percentage of use meter? Can you Monitor the charge rate?
Well no, and yes. No it doesn’t have shunt, it’s on the list, but with the renogy app it’s hooked to from the charge controller it shows the voltage of the battery weather it’s under load or not but it does tell you the voltage coming in and at what amps plus it does the math and tells you watts in.
Great video, thanks!
Your welcome glad you liked it!
