Drone footage of Montgomery, WV during the winter.
WV Tech, they should have left it as it was and not part of WVU, imho.
Love drone videos with moving trains!
Great work! Fellow droner in tge Appalachian Mountains here.
I miss benny's place they had good hot dogs.
Thanks for the drone footage. Looks a little vacant now (Montgomery) - doesn’t it? I will explain. I attended Tech (WVIT) in the late ‘80s and it was in a somewhat bustling little community- thanks to the college on the hill. I received my B.S.M.E and it was WELL EARNED. While I was attending WVIT, the school almost lost it’s accreditation with ABET because the Civil Engineering department was audited. ABET found that it was creating and grading tests with way too much academic difficulty. Tech had the reputation of being ridiculously hard (especially after some feedback by a few engineering student friends - refugees who left to attend WVU to complete their degrees). Word gets around WV easily; from Bluefield to Moundsville, it’s the same damn place. Enrollment plummeted and especially since schools like Marshall started offering engineering, Tech was the last place any self-respecting engineering student would like to spend a good portion of his/her life. Without the attendance, no revenue was available for facility maintenance. It got so bad, the school moved to Beckley. Not all the professors were … should I dare say... evil. Some were truly awesome instructors (gems) and I will always love them dearly. But the Dean of Engineering, and a few of the Civil professors were especially on the warpath and weaponized the engineering curricula with an arbitrary grading system. I will also state a few of the students put on the brown nose, and G*d bless them…. It worked for them. If that wasn’t enough, a residual evil genius went on to direct the WVPE Board. There you have it … a real life ghost town from nothing more than collegiate sadism. I do appreciate Tech for what I learned, figured out, and endured… but with a big heaping helping of contempt.
Amazing video, it must take a lot of skill to get a drone up there in an area where tree's are everywhere, I still get sketched when there are tree's around and I fly low, with my drone, anyway I subscribed to your channel keep up the amazing footage.
15 or 20 years from now if the government didn't do anything.. it will surely be a ghost town..
I just did a quick yellow man Google tour. Where is everyone? This could be a studio backlot of a small town in Hollywood.
I was there yesterday going back mon
Sad how it went from the economic boomtown in the 60's and 70's to the poorest county in the entire country for the last 40 years.
It's all some place to live
Add to the scenic beauty and history of this beautiful area so enjoyed on the Cardinal... your amazing drone footage and just the right music... brings it to a whole new level! Usually experience this area around 9am going east... sipping coffee... and wishing the journey would never end... your fan from the Oregon Coast thanks you for the magic you bring!
I miss my Wv tech
