The Difference Between Spec and Custom Home Building
Entrepreneur Jeremy Perkins explains the idea of "spec homes" and "custom homes." He describes his business structure, which includes rental houses, home building and storage. He explains the difference between "slow money" and "fast money" - he gets paid every week on some projects, which helps him maintain cashflow for slower paying, larger projects. He explains that he pays his contractors much more for his custom homes because of the quality of the work. If you dream of being a successful home builder, you would do well to learn from a master like Jeremy Perkins!

Stop the bs.... its low pay unless it union
Still a great career if you advance your way up.
@profitdig I'm a contractor. I still tell all the new guys to join a union and then if they feel they can handle business then they should get their contractors license and contract work...
Make a video about trench rock,
Great tip. You won't believe what happened to me recently. I was struggling with getting contract offers, feeling like I was hitting a dead end every time. But then, I came across this unconventional solution while reading online. I decided to give it a shot out of desperation.
Really? I'm in a similar situation right now. What did you do?
@@ChristyVallenDsouza Well, I came across a voodoo priestess, Queen Stella Laveaux and i followed her guidance and rituals provided. And guess what? A company that had rejected me before called back saying they wanted to award me the contract. It was like a dream come true. You should look her up online now
@@MillindSoman-d1y That's incredible! I found her website queen stella laveaux, and i read about her after you mentioned it. It's fascinating how things can change. I might just give it a try myself. I left her a message already and i hope she responds. Thank you for this information, i felt lost already.
Thansk for not sharing ur solution only ur problem greedy as***ole
Very helpful. I am wanting to get my feet wet with a 30x60 barndomindium build, watching as many videos as I can about being my own GC to see how feasible it really is. Thanks guys.
You can do it!
He’s such a good resource of information

Stay away from John Deer. Not sure why this guy had such a problem saying that. John Deer does not believe in Right to Repair. SHOULD be right up your alley.
No offense, but the guy next to you kinda looks like demolition ranch and Chris Patterson combined
Very good info. He is spot on with what he said that applies to pretty much any region in the U.S. for underground jobs. Would like to see more of him sharing knowledge
Love the content, let’s sound proof the room so there’s less echo!
I'm a 3rd year. Tile apprentice. I graduate early next year. I need this great advice
Congrats, Mervin! Thanks so much for watching!
No wonder he thinks Texas could secede: He thinks there's no storage! I wonder if he's driven by the oil refinery mega battery system that supplies electricity to reduce the cost of refining oil!
Well they don't want you to drown 🤔
Thanks for watching Dave!
Bridge inspectors in the United States has to be the closest job to being a politician I can think if I’m the “skilled” trades sector. I mean look at our bridges across America. Makes perfect sense now😂
You can't really blame the inspectors for the lack of infrastructure investment in the United States. Thanks for watching!
Yeah but... the chances of getting someone to do it correctly is 50% where I could easily install Rockwool myself without the health hazards. I had pro's install foam in my camper and it looked like it was in a hail storm, basically decreasing the value and impossible to fix. I still don't know after all the studies how someone could still advocate for foam.
It might just come down to being done correctly. Our HVAC expert here was very impressed by the results. Thanks for watching!
There have been companies that have built foam homes . One I did was R30 walls and R50 roof
That's very interesting!
It to echoey I can hear
Great episode!
Thanks!
Love this! “One in the box, and one to play with” is so wise.
I’m so proud of my cuz! Great interview!
I appreciate how keyword oriented the title is
Damm I'd love to work for him
I’m curious if it’s policy for any construction company to have a construction site manager show up on a Sunday with a loaded gun and if he were to find someone there be ok with him shooting 2 people and killing them?
Well...probably asking for trouble with the law in that case. But we got nothin' against being armed for sure.
great content guys
Thanks!
Good show. The most important tool in contracting is COMMUNICATION. I tell all or my estimates customers up front that what I'm presenting is an estimated total of costs based on what is seen now, what is wanted now and what is expected now. I tell them that all major projects have surprises and the job of both parties is to expect them and minimize them with INFORMATION. BTW, my "telling" is always in writing.
That sounds like a good approach. Thanks for the comment!
🔥🔥🔥

Six (6) second intro, maximum. Any longer costs you views, nobody has time for a 28 second intro. Why not use those microphones to eliminate the echo?
Thanks for watching! Noted about the intro. We've actually gotten a lot better with our audio quality compared to this one. Seems like the mics didn't work or something.
As a plumbing contractor for the last 30 years in bidding jobs I have every dollar amount broke down to go to the proper places. So if I give you a bid that is the number I need to survive. So no I will not lower my price so the GC can make his profit because that is the only reason why he is asking you to lower yours so he can make his. Seen it way too many times in my years. Besides if he is loyal to you he wouldn't be shopping around and he is gonna makes sure you get yours and his through the customer, I'm not gonna pay you to go to work for you by lowering my amount to satisfy your needs. There is way too much work out there for that.
