Good demo. I just ordered one for my 2023 Silverado. It took me a while to find a toolbox like yours, that had a shallower depth. Most are either too deep or too shallow to be worth buying. Looks like they work great together.
Where did yall put in and take out if you dont mind me asking? Im trying to plan a trip myself, and im down to the Congaree River or Edisto River.
@@Finch08 brahbams landing to Simmons I believe this time. Starts on the south fork of the Edisto and then converges with the north fork for the remainder.

I have been running Amazon lighted knocks for a couple years now and for the price of 6 for $15, I'll deal with 1 or 2 not working here and there. I hate the over priced ones that need a tool to turn off. I used them for the first year or two, but no more for me. For the most part, I have had much better luck than you have. To each their own.
@@ixoye143 yep gotta do what works for you. I just had way too many failures straight out the package

Gatorade, tylenol, coffee. No scent towel bath every morning. Call less than you think you should. If you're going to bugle, sound like a challenging juvenile satellite bull. Pisses the bigger bulls off. From Durango, CO 😉
@@Trapper50cal Yea less seems to be more these days. Appreciate the input 👍🏼
@@HuntSoloPublic Multiple times I've seen hunters call in other hunters by calling indiscriminately and way too frequently. On Public land these elk see a lot more pressure so they are onto the hunter's tactics and are wary of too much noise. I will say though, solo is the hardest because you can't have a caller set up behind the hunter and call the elk through the silent hunter. During my solo hunting, I've stalled out well inside the last 75 yards or so many times.
@@Trapper50cal Yea that seems to be the struggle. I’ll be going earlier this year to MT so will do more spot and stalk. Will use calls sparingly. I’m sure it will be a challenge like CO but hopefully I’ll get a crack at a bull 🤞
Mr. Han Solo Sir, thank you for helping me decide if I was going to roll with the high roller or not. It came down to the contrast of the colors for me. So I will give it a shot!😉

I deadlift barefooted. I'm thinking about getting some lifting shoes or something different than regular tennis shoes that are more stable. Keep up the good work.
@@RitterRundown appreciate it, let me know if you land on a good pair 👍🏼
Speaking as someone who deadlifts 500, flat soled shoes like Chucks is my recommendation, rather than barefoot. Also, i got best strength gains from doubles and triples, often completely dropping the weight on the eccentric and resetting.
@@matthewtheking appreciate the input 💪🏼
It's nice to see some reviews on low-cost rangefinders. I wonder how it would compare to say a TideWe. (Nice to have a backup rangefinder, just in case) How accurate are they, not necessarily compared to one another, but accurate are they to the physical distance. Maybe do a follow-up after the hunting season. Test on how long it holds a charge. Can the rechargeable battery be replaced with a lithium battery? What is the maximum range distance on reflective, trees/rocks, and animals? How accurate is the angle compensation? How does it work in temperatures below freezing? Temperature and humidity have been known to affect the angle compensation in some rangefinders. (Sig had a challenge last year with this when temps were below 40*F. I sent mine back to Sig for a replacement. They told me a firmware update could not resolve this challenge.)
@@RudyHassallPMP Great feedback and ideas for future videos. Thanks for watching!
Degrease it. Boil it or steam it. Then go over it lightly with some 4 ought brass wool. This is if you want to bring back a lot of the original bluing, but keep the handle marks, though won't get rid of pits, you'll be surprised how bad looking guns come out nice. Then at the end spray it down in wd40, to displace any moisture, and to keep it from rusting quick, since after a boil all the oils in the metal are gone. Plenty of youtube videos about it. I recommend this before sending it to a gunsmith for a full rehaul. It is hard for gunsmiths to bring back that original bluing with that nice shine, crisp edges, and field use marks. Good luck.
Check out my after video it’s mint now 👌🏼
Well hello there big boy! Why don't you come over here I want to have a little talk with you

@@HuntSoloPublic that sucks
Where's the giant?
You a private land yuppee boy or somethin?
@HuntSoloPublic nope! I hunt all public land and that 130" whitetail isn't a giant.
@@mikehaller3726 ahh all you care about is score.. I see a giant bodied deer with an amazing set of antlers.
@HuntSoloPublic hes got a big body with mediocre antlers. If that was a forky with a GIANT body would you still consider it a giant? There is literally a scoring system that indicates what could be possibly a giant.
@@mikehaller3726 are you still running your thumbs? Get off the internet and go take your anger out on some push ups.
His antlers don’t stick out as much as I thought they would they got more height to them still a big af deer tho

Cant wait to get my Shimek.
Do you use OnX for non-western hunting and then focus on GoHunt for the planning out west? And when you’re out west do you use OnX for mapping once you’re there?
I use BaseMap for private/public boundaries and e-scouting as well and offline maps/GPS. I have been using the 3D feature of GoHunt a lot.
Great video dude! How did you know you were going to be able to get an OTC tag? Is it guaranteed they will be available in some areas?
Thanks! Yea an OTC tag is good in any OTC units. You can look it up in the regs or on GoHunt to see which units are OTC.
Cool Video, I love Colorado. I am going back this year for my third hunt since 2019. I actually drew a muzzleloader tag this year
Thanks for watching. Good luck!
Awesome video! Really enjoyed the story about the mountain lions and glad that you survived the encounter to share it! I just bought a 10mm for my back up. I just drew my first tag for Archery & I’m pumped! This will be my 3rd season. Maybe 3 times a charm 🙏. I’m 55 and let me tell you, Colorado kicks my ass every year. I had a nice bull elk come down the mountain out of the aspens my first year and was on top of me before I could get the draw. He stared me down & I could not move until he bolted back up the mountain. I hunted him hard for 3 days and discovered his bedding area and jumped him twice. The whole experience was awesome not to mention that I had a bear get within 40 yds of me. My advice to you is always carry a garmin inreach mini for an emergency and look into hammocking as an alternative to your tent. It’s a game changer!
Sounds like some great experiences! I think it usually takes several years to finally get it done unless a lot of things go your way the first time. Learn, rinse and repeat. The mountain lions were quite the adventure. I love hammocking and sleep great in my eno system but with the weather and temperatures being so variable I like the security and added insulation of a tent and pad. Right now my tent setup and hammock setup are the same weight. Definitely not opposed to trying it again. I’ll probably bring both to Montana this year 👍🏼
@@HuntSoloPublic I bought a Warbonnet with an underquilt & tarp cover. Combine that with a Sitka sleeping bag and my Sitka Aerolite. There’s no way that I will get cold. I do have a question for you, because this is my main concern for hunting alone. How the hell are we gonna get that big bastard back to the truck?🤣 I’ve watched all the Cliff Gray videos and ton more on the gutless method and how to pack it out but I’m afraid I would not pass the endurance test. I’m thinking it might be best to call some locals with mules but I would love to hear your thoughts.
@@mikemcgee6810 Yea I think it will be the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. I currently strength train and run 3-4 times a week. I have a ton of detail on my instagram page about certain workouts and my preparation. Yes the gutless method and quartering and packing until it’s all back to the coolers is the plan. It can be done solo but won’t be easy!
I would think you’d teach your wife that she’s about to get slide bite with a thumb placement like that
Dude you must totally suck.......
Thanks for making this video. Not the crazy entertaining trophy elk hunt that you see all over CZcams but a realistic experience of a first time DIY hunt. Exactly what I was looking for! Best of luck this fall!
