Only 3 people ever did UM Football on WUOM in Ann Arbor: Bill Fleming, Bill Stegath & Tom Hemingway. He also was the halftime host during the Bob Ufer era. We were so pleased that he lived long enough to receive this honor in person. Please enjoy!
Grew up in the '90s with Alan Almond on PillowTalk before I went to sleep every night. I thought his voice was what God sounded like. I wanted to see if CZcams had a recording of his voice somewhere - thank you for posting this, though, discovering he was a white guy, today, in the year of our lord 2024 is like having a rift ripped through a memory and splitting it all in half. 🤣 RIP, Alan Almond, thank you for helping a very wound-tight and anxious girl fall asleep in MetroDetroit for the first third of my life.
Jack was a great man.
Original. Authentic. Real.
Can't believe it has been 8 years since his passing. RIP Arthur W. "Charlie Tuna" Ferguson.

Of course to some of us kids, he seemed square, but he was instead actually very very intelligent, and we were the block heads!

Charlie tuna you are an inspiration thank you for paving the way for on air personalities like myself and future DJs Charlie tuna will be remembered as haveing a richness and deepness in his voice rare what you find in DJ most DJ voices are clear. I’m glad I’m not that type of DJ with a clear voice. I’m glad I have some depth and deepness to my voice Charlie tuna will always be considered one of the best thanks buddy. Growing up in south east Wisconsin, as a kid in the 70’s I would listen to Chicago radio… WLS, WCFL, The Loop…listening to Larry, Dick & Doug, Johnny B, Fred Winston, and Steve & Garry that was when radio was at its prime. I even got a job as a DJ on my local station doing weekends for 5 years when I was in college. I miss those good days of radio!🎸🎶
