Spent decades fishing the western basin . Come November tho I would hit Lorain...nice fish and pretty much on the shore line. I am in the UP now and there are days I miss the basin.

Rode that trail thru Harvey and over Marquette mountain many times. I've seen it thin like that before, too, but it never seems to be a huge bad area. You push thru and it gets better, late season riding...

Nice Videos, SLP can sounds good 👍. What sort of handguards are those? They look really warm but still allowing mobility. How do you feel about the ITC throttle?
Hand guards are from SkiDoo. They are a slip on style with one Velcro strap. They work great! Also have the bar muffs for really cold days. I took the can off as it eventually started driving me nuts. Resonates in the helmet and after a 250-300 mile day you can still hear it while eating breakfast the next morning. lol!
@@bryanoberlin6258 I came off a modified Sidewinder. I had a Sandale 3" Trail exhaust on it. It sounded fantastic. Sandale doesn't make one for the 1200. They do for the 900 Turbo.

DreamRider I can definitely make another video. Will have to wait till Rona is gone and we can go camping again. I also made a nice stand that i can set the hitch onto for storage, inspection and cleaning. I did find the cam follower was loose when i cleaned the hitch and put it away. I re tightened the nut with some lock tight.

John W I did. It was a nice sound but resonated inside of my helmet to much. Back to the stock muffler. I have a new appreciation for it now!
@@bryanoberlin6258 That was the same experience I had with my Z1 turbo years back. Sounds cool unless you have to deal with the resonance in the helmet all day. Thanks for the info, I have the same sled you have and was thinking of trying a muffler again but I think I'll pass..
John W Definitely was a nice sound but putting 200-300 miles on a day was rough with that can. Laying down in the hotel at night was almost like your still sitting on the sled running! Lol!
Been looking at getting a can for my sled (same one as in this vid) for a while now. This is one of them. How is the sound cruising down the trail? Is it louder than stock? Or just a different tone?
Max Reed it was a nice sounding can but after putting a couple thousand miles on with it I decided to take it off and go back to stock. This sled got wrecked due to a guy running me off the trail so i know have an 18 renegade X. Had the can on the new sled for the first trip and the. Got rid of the can. Straight line performance does make one that is quieter than this one.

What bag do you use on the handlebar? Is it heated?
Its a skidoo bag. It has a heated element in it. I keep my cell phone in that pocket and I also ran my phone charger to it from the 12v plug in the glove box. Works perfect! I also keep a small first aid kit in the bag along with a knife, and some good oll pain reliever for the 300+ mile days.
@@bryanoberlin6258 does the bag keep your phone at a decent temp? I'm seeing a lot of reviews saying it doesn't really keep electronics warm
It does ok iff your not going fast. Iff you get on some long straight sections or it’s really windy i think the wind cuts through the bag and makes it cold. Its not a big element by any means but i do think it helps.

Is a 1200 a good sled for a new rider
Thomas Hennessey iii I would say so! It has 3 engine modes. Eco will only let it go about 30-35 mph. Normal mode is a good cruising mode that has a decent range in power. Sport mode is what i leave it in and it has no problem passing 110-115 mph. It also has a learn key that can be set up for new riders to limit speeds. I usually ride 500-700 miles a trip. Sled gets 18 mpg with my style riding. Second 1200 I’ve had and absolutely love it!

Hope yours works better than mine. First drive and it broke down at 60 miles. Dropped it off and was fixed. Picked it up and made it 3 miles and broke down again. Totally disgusted. Winters was crap here. Just got enough snow to ride and no Sled. Calling for rain for 3 days.

Lawrence MacDonald actually i do not notice a difference between this and an 800. Even hangs with an 800 with a clutch kit up to about 60-70 then it pulls on me a bit. Over 1200 miles on it now and i love it! Awesome trail sled!

you said that track is a 1.6?? i didnt think the 1.6 had that many pre studs .... and i thought the 1.6 had much thinner/softer lugs ??
joerotorhead yes. Track is the 1.6” ice ripper with ice picks in each lug of the track. Im very happy with this track. Have 800 miles on it now.
please make a vid of 1200 driving by the camera to get a 3rd person sound clip. I got the same sled but an Mxz X and i want to hear what its like!!

All over. Stay in Kalkaska a lot but we ride 200-300 miles a day so we cover a lot. Just got back from Munising yesterday. Went up Friday and rode from Munising to Lanse. Saturday we rode from Lanse to Copper Harbor and back. Sunday we rode from Lanse back to Munising. Rode to Minor Castle, Pictured rocks before coming home yesterday for a total of 700 miles.
I have a 2014 renegade x 1200.Wish it had more power.
Cory Coulter in 2016 they went to the iTC with electronic throttle. More power and a crisp response. I can out run stock 800etecs no problem. My buddies 800 is clutched and re geared and we are close but he is a little faster around 60 mph.

right now only the 850 comes in the gen4 chassis, this chassis is a xs How do you like that loud can? Does that can effect the WOT performance?
skidoochris i think it adds a little more pull through mid power range. Definitely like the sound. Glad you were able to fix up my old sled!

Great sled. Just took my new Renegade X 850 out for a rip. I can tell you, the 1.6” Ice Cobra hooks up way better than my 2015 Reny 800 with the 1.25. You also have a very cool dog. Have fun out there and be safe. Cheers
Verum Quaesitor had it up last weekend and put 120 miles on it! Definitely like the 1.6”track more than the 1.25”. Ally is my 4 year old Snow Lab, shes always has be in the barn with me.

3 days. We leave early Friday morning. Drive to St Ignace and unload. Ride to Munising. Get up early Saturday and ride to big bay and back (all day ride) get up Sunday and ride back to St Ignace. The. Drive home. We have stayed an extra night to ride up towards Drummond island as well.
How many days did it take to do that
I know this is old now, but super walk around. I learned a lot! Trying to decide between one of these or a Viper of some sort. I really do like these though!
