This channel is for those who remember the early days of Channel Four, when captions and music would appear on screen when your local ITV company hadn't sold enough advertising the fill a commercial break.
These captions were on the 'sustaining feed' from Channel Four's launch up until the end of 1992, when they became responisble for their own advertising, although they were seen less and less by viewers as time went by.
There were well over 250 tracks used by Channel Four, and I will be uploading as many as I can on this channel. I've also included examples of commercial break and programme line-up captions. The videos are not intended to be 'mocks' - I'm not implying that a particular track was ever used in conjunction with a particular caption, although in some cases this would have been the case.
The captions are taken from videos I've acquired from a number of sources, including CZcams, and I must publicly thank anyone whose material I have used. I don't claim ownership of these. Similarly, many people have been kind enough to send me music tracks over the years, so a huge thank you to them as well.
I must point out that the copyright of the music belongs to the composers and publishers and no infringements are intended by their reproduction here. Anyone wishing to use these tracks in a professional capacity must arrange this with the publishing company or composers concerned.

This was in my Spotify list of Likes, but not sure how it got there. Just heard it again last night on Star Trek Voyager, Ssn 4 Ep 18 "The Killing Game," and made myself crazy trying to think of the title. This plays in the background while members of the French Underground listen to the BBC weather report for a coded message. I swear I've been looking for this song since the late '70's when I heard it as a kid on "The Fog"! Then I heard it again on an "All in The Family" episode. My father had gotten me into big-band era music, particularly Glenn Miller, and I searched since then to this day for it. It sounded a little updated to be pre-war Glenn Miller, so I was sure it was either the band with Tex Beneke in lead after the war, or Ray Anthony in later years. The song was chosen for a number of movies. Alan did a smash-up job producing a song Glenn Miller himself would've been envious of! It's really beautiful.

Pretty sure it's a typo and IBA was meant to be on the slide. Also not sure it's an accurate recreation anyway - C4 was a wholly owned subsidiary of the IBA until 1992, but during this time the advertising was sold regionally by the local ITV company (part of the cludge of C4 not being the 'ITV2' that was originally envisaged). As such any industrial dispute from Equity affecting the airing of advertisements would surely be a dispute with the ITV company/companies concerned and not with the IBA?
