    Hello Don, your video series is nothing short of incredible! Thank you so much for this wonderful source of information! I recently took over my fathers 1965 Chris-Craft Cavalier and am now facing a couple of issues. If your time allows it would be really appreciated if we could get in touch about it. If I’m correct, the comments have to be reviewed by you before publishing. If so I’d send you another one with my contact details upon confirmation. Ok? Again, amazing work with the engines and the video series!!! Cheers, Wolfgang (from Germany)

    I thought the crank snout had to be drilled to meet the first main bearing oil passage in order to lube the transmission? At least, that's what I recall from reading my '62 CC SkiBoat engine book...

    • @DonbAyers
      @DonbAyers Před rokem

      Yes. The crank must be drilled if it is a manual drive transmission. That version uses engine oil for transmission lube

    • @DonbAyers
      @DonbAyers Před rokem

      Hi Guy. Hope all is well. The alternator I have are original units which are Autolite ALE-5202-A. 40 amp units that do require a voltage regulator which is part number VBV-6201-A. Not sure what you mean re brackets? If you’re talking the top adjustable bracket that is a CC part you would need to find from a supplier like Robert Henkel. Same for the bottom plate. Now you would need to have the correct front housing that has the boss cast into it for that bottom plate. Hope this helps

    • @GLF-Video
      @GLF-Video Před rokem

      Hi Don. Thanks for the information. I understand better now. I see the boss you mentioned. My housing doesn’t have that. I had a 1959 283 FWF engine that I parted-out. It’s generator wasn’t water cooled. The generator on my 1961 engine is water cooled. And your engines have alternators. I appreciated your description of that progression.

Now I will try to draw the V8 engines. Also I wanted to know if you had plans, these engines so that I can make them in 3D printing or any other information that could help me move forward in this project. Thank you in advance for your answer. Best regards

      Paul, The Riva Aquarama "Special" (1972-1996) only used the Riva Crusader 454 big block engines. There is a guy on Facebook that I follow that has made these in 3D already. They are incredibly details. Look up Patrizio Dessi. These engines (CC 283's) were used in Aquarama from 1963-1966. Hope this helps

    Let me emphasize one thing that was never mentioned. I have a 350 CC Engine in my boat. The original engine that was in the boat had steel freezeout plugs. Do yourself a favor, which is not expensive, and it will save you a headache later on. Please replace the freezeout plugs with brass ones if the boat is to be used in saltwater. It is not expensive, and it’s a great improvement.
