Random Song Prompt: “Home By Dinner”
I was out of town for this one, so I text Jayce what to write about. I had to write the whole song for this idea to pan out like I wanted. As soon as she responded, I knew where I wanted the song to go and I knew it would be about the different people in your life that you tell that you’ll be “home by dinner”. I just watched the Tom Douglas movie and went down a rabbit hole of storytelling songs of his, Jeffrey Steele, Lori McKenna, etc and wanted to try to feel connected to this guy and the story of his life throughout the song. #songwriter #songwriting #countrymusic
