I had low compression on two cylinders ( # 7 & #8). It turned out the intake valves were too tight and it bent the pushrods too. Just backing off the adjustment by 1 mm and the idle increased by 100 rpm's right away. Still have to get the pushrods, even though they're just slightly bent.
Maybe this is my problem as well, nice work
I like the resistance that nut gave you. I got a newly rebuilt 327 and i cant find a nut that wont come loose
If I took all my pushrods out on the one side and don’t know how many turns it is to go back to normal what is the torque specs for it?
I'm not the greatest mechanic or probably not even okay. I think if you're trying to go by a torque spec, you'd have to find top dead center and go through each cylinder individually as you move the respective intake or exhaust valve to fully closed. But I might be way over thinking this. I would probably try to get it close by sticking them all in and going like a half turn past hand tight, then starting it up and going by ear, when you hear and feel the valve stop clacking youre there. but this method is not easy and you can damage some things. We should probably both seek some professional advice and Def check out some more educated videos. Sorry I can't be of much help here, good luck on your build. Thank you for watching

Yeah for sure you're right. It is a China knock off, and budget friendly. I think it was right over 100$ shipped from the eBay. It does a fine job, but I'll be doing some engine swap this summer so it'll go in the scrap pile where it belongs hahahaha

Yes, I think so. It's been a while since I've had a ford engine, but I'm pretty sure even in the late model pushrod 5.0 they got the push tube on top of the lifter just like in my case. So yeah I think it would be pretty much the exact same process

Indeed it was found in a structure that is considered a barn, it was covered, and came with a couple extra cars. They were all in this type of condition. The Lil Red Express is my favorite. It's in great condition too, the motor and trans is out of it but it's all there. I'll make a video of that truck soon, it's a really nice find too. I show the truck a little in the GTO video.

What headers you using?
These are Summit Racing headers SUM-G9006, comes with gasket. Used Trans-Dapt performance header bolts TRD-9943. I was able to install them from the top, only had to remove the alternator. It was easier to install spark plugs first, then headers but possible either way. I had to clock my water temp sensor in the cylinder head to clear the flange, or you can grind the flange there. THAT is a 1972 GTO, they only had those air extractors by the wheels in 1972. You can look it up...

@@billybuilds Yes the build sheet/window sticker might say a late 1971 manufacturing date but it is absolutely a 1972, 1971's don't have the front wheel air extractors and the FRONT parking light lens and mounting is more pronounced...

Sounds like the ballcock diaphragm is loaded with debris I suggest rebuilding the ballcock fill valve and do the flapper valve as well when you do the repairs

@billybuilds the '72 has a vent in the front fender between the wheel well and car doors the '71 does not and the grill is recessed in on the '72 it's flush on the '71 I'm a big GTO nut I had a '65 black 389 tri power 4 speed in high school 😎👍🇺🇲🏁
