I was getting a "Service Suspension System" message on my display. Took it to the garage for diagnosis. They charged $160 for the diagnosis and said it would be an additional $500 for the replacement. I bought the part myself for $100 and installed it myself. Very easy job, nice savings.

Hi, is there a top and bottom side to the crush washer?
Exactly the same issue as my 2015 highlander, thanks so much! I could not find the right tools, so I used a zip tie to tight it up, seems working now.

Did you drain it when trans is cold or did you have to warm up the trans?
No need to warm up transmission in my experience.
yes, oil from your fingers is way worse than anything it will come in contact with out there on the road.

Honda CVT transmissions are very reliable, have over 130k miles in my 2015 CRV and absolutely no issues. Just do the service on time.
130k is barely broken-in in these cars lol. If you don’t abuse the transmission by driving like a maniac and with good maintenance, it should last another 130k!

the Repair manual recommends to NOT push directly onto the glass ( it is filled with a Fluid, it blocks the reflection of bright lights for night driving; the lights have a green tint to them). the manual said to use a sanding pad/block
You helped so much. Very easy to understand! I have found myself trying to fix lots of things on my own these days and this really empowers me. Greatly appreciated! I am going to try and order the mirror now and get my little body and trim tool.
You didn't change the filters?
If the fluid is real dirty or if you find metal shavings on the magnet, then consider dropping the pan and changing filters but in this case just keeping new oil in the transmission was all I wanted to do.

Socket wrench, extenders, universal joint, liquid wrench.

Didn’t take anything off except the bolt. Do you have a good socket wrench set?
