The NEW #BlueLifts | 2024 Schindler 7000 Traction Lifts | Wellington Hospital, WSB Building
Filmed with @t3224.elevators_nz and WaygoodOtis.
The day has finally come - the first two new #bluelifts are online. I'm sure many people will be sad to see the end of the old OTIS lifts - and despite what I said in the video, that does also include myself. These lifts have been featured on this channel since its inception, and have been a fan favorite for many years, and for the last 3 years I have been lucky enough to actually be working in this very building!
Replacement was always going to happen here - with cars C1 and C2 out of action for many years, and C3 and C4 constantly prone to faults, the upgrade was also a case of "when" not "if". Old lifts such as these are more prone to failure, due to the aging parts - and these days parts are expensive and harder to source. Plus finding technicians with in-depth knowledge of how old lift technology works is also a challenge.
Let's hope that the new lifts serve the hospital well for many years to come!

REPLACED | 2024 Schindler 7000 Traction Lift | Wellington Hospital CSB Building Freight Lift
zhlédnutí 375Před 2 měsíci
The first of the two CSB Freight lifts has been replaced, with lift B5 having gotten the Schindler 7000 treatment (B6 will follow soon). Some updates have been made to the design following on from the Purple Lifts done in 2022-23, with this lift having different indicators and also using new shaft doors (instead of recycling the existing lift doors). What you see here, is almost identical to wh...
Not often I film these | 2024 CIBES Glass Platform Lift | Kai Tahi, Porirua CBD
zhlédnutí 263Před 2 měsíci
I don't normally do platform lifts, as I don't find them very interesting, but this brand new scenic example from CIBES (installed by Vestner) is actually pretty nice!
It's Still Here!!! | EPL-KONE/SEMAG Hydraulic Lift | Bunnings, Tory Street, Wellington CBD
zhlédnutí 405Před 3 měsíci
When I first found out that this store was closing for a few months for earthquake straightening works and some refurbishments, I was fully expecting this old lift to be replaced or modded, but to my amazement, it survives untouched (the buttons were replaced many years ago, prior to the closure).
#BlueLifts | New Lifts Coming Soon!
zhlédnutí 274Před 3 měsíci
New #BlueLifts are nearly ready to go at Wellington Hospital, with the fist two cars - C1 and C2 due to enter service soon! The new lifts are Schindler 7000s, and a re similar in design to those installed to replace the Purple Lifts in 2022-23.
Big Beeping Buttons! | OTIS? Express? (mod. Dewhurst) Traction Lifts | IBIS Hotel, Wellington CBD
zhlédnutí 404Před 3 měsíci
(The original make of these lifts is currently disputed) I stayed at the IBIS recently, as I was watching a late-finishing show in Wellington and had to be at work the next day. The hotel has some interesting lifts. Whilst the Dewhurst mod itself is nothing to special, I do love the jumbo "G" buttons and the fact that the buttons beep when pressed. The ground floor lift lobby also has an odd se...
Mobil Emergency Alert (NZ) | 2024 Annual Test
zhlédnutí 312Před 3 měsíci
That time of year came around again for the yearly test of New Zealand's Mobil Emergency Alert System. Nice to see (or rather hear) that this year the text-to-speech voice is Kiwi-Aussie rather than American, but that could be becuase I have replaced my phone since last year.
Kinetic #842 | 2015 MAN 18.290 | Gemilang/Kiwi Bus Builders | Route 18 to Karori

Only around 5 of these buses were ever built for NZ. This is one of 3 that was previously used on the Auckland SkyBus service. This one in-particular was actually first used by Bus Travel NZ as a demo bus, before being reconfigured for SkyBus work. Following the shut-down of the Sky/Bus services during the pandemic, the 3 Gemilangs were transferred over to GoBus for use as School work, before c...
Fixture Faux Pas | 2023 Schindler 3300EU MRL Traction Lifts | Johnston St, Wellington CBD
zhlédnutí 212Před 4 měsíci
Who forgot the braille? Anyway, these lifts replaced a pair of modernized old OTIS lifts. I never filmed the previous lift sadly (as I keep forgetting where this building is), but T3224 did film them: czcams.com/video/bzninlPBCF4/video.html

Better than Average! | 2021 OTIS Gen 2 (ReGen) MRL Traction Lifts | Victoria Lane, Wellington CBD
zhlédnutí 130Před 4 měsíci
The new Victoria Lane complex has been several years work to complete! It comprises of a large apartment tower (not accessible) and this small office block. These nice new OTIS lifts are, in my opinion, how OTIS lifts should be styled, compared to the more bog-standard design they usually go with.
Losing my Marbles! | Brand New KONE Ecodisc (KDS220) Traction Lifts | Wellington CBD
zhlédnutí 266Před 4 měsíci
Long-time viewers may remember these lifts as the old OTIS lifts with the custom-made call-buttons that used marbles as buttons. Those have gone now, but in their place, we have these AWESOME new Ecodiscs, and the first known examples of KDS220 fixtures in NZ!

Rare Button & Odd Cab Shape | Old OTIS (mod. OTIS) Traction Lift | Palmerston North
zhlédnutí 227Před 4 měsíci
This lift has a very rare yellow-illuminating Everbright call-button. It also has a very unusually configured cab. Other than that, the lift is very basic, with there not really being much else I can say about it really.

I like the pelican crossings because they’re flash and amber

Legal Semforo traffic lights
The electronic LED signs were most likely originally lit with incandescent or neon bulbs that had a printed red glass filter and back separator! :)
The original ones would have been, yes. These ones though would have been LED from new. The lights/signs were not retrofitted, they were fully replaced.
It’s interesting of how they have both mechanical bells and e-bells which could add an additional layer of redundancy to the crossing! :)

Bro I honestly cannot believe that you decided to go back to your hand dryer routes! This takes me back to 2012 watching Parts 1-6 and loving the different types of hand dryers there were in New Zealand. I’m from America so we have different hand dryers. But oh my god dude, the fact that you did this blew my mind. Thank you so much for doing this, and you have no idea how much the original series meant to me. Mate, may you be blessed and everything with happiness. I would die to see you do this again, and do more hand dryer content in the future if you ever want to do more. You’re a bloody legend and we all love you man! Have a great day/night, and stay safe out there. 🙂❤️
Second oldest trains after the Bakerloo line 72 stock, 73 stock should be replaced next year, if the British government does not spend billions more aboard.
Any visual clues (external or internal) of which engine is fitted?

In Fact The UK And Argentina Are The Only 2 Two Countries Goes From Red Yellow To Green Because The West Of The World For Example The United States Canada Mexico New Zealand And Australia For Example Its Because Its Just Much Better For All Of US. I Find It Pretty Weird That Traffic Lights Go From Red Yellow To Green.

The bad news is that the last Ryko Ultraclean at Mobil Manurewa South in Auckland has been removed & boarded up meaning all Ryko Ultracleans in New Zealand are now extinct.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll start getting wiki pages updated as and when I can (might take a day or two). Google have just started to release the latest Streetview updates around the country - hopefully a decent amount this time! So we will see what we can get elsewhere as the updates come.
Did a few runs out west on a school run before a 17.223 replaced it. Personally this bus was overkill for the rather small route.
I have photographs (2) of a derailment to the south, that occurred when the US armed forces were gathering to head off the Battle of the Coral Sea. US Forces used their cutting equipment to free passengers from the carriages.

See; we’ve been considering it, but it’s gonna be really hard seeing as the engineers we need to ask only come around once every blue moon. And I’m aware the clock is ticking: The next time _I’ll_ get to visit the hospital, almost certainly all of the panels would have gone.
I like to think of you as the NZ DieselDucy lol
I like traffic lights, no matter where they've been. I like traffic lights but only when they're green. He likes traffic lights. That is what he said. He likes traffic lights but not when they're red.

These kind of Bells exist on a lot of railroad crossings here in Sweden, but here we have different sounds on them. We have the Finnish sound, the Swedish/Norwegian sound and the Dutch sound. But cool to see this tho. I’ve seen 2 Vialis EBA bells in real life but never heard one.
R.I.P. NZ Lifts (2017-2023)
Featuring non-compliant fire warning text as well, which I have no idea how that happened given the LOPs are nothing like what Australia gets.
That’s wild that this crossing is an amalgamation of hardware from here in the US, Australia, AND New Zealand! 😂😂😂
Nah I Hated The WCH E-Bells
Even though I live near the airport, I've never been through that tunnel (I am aware of it though). However, I have been through the road tunnel under the southern end of the runway quite a few times. In fact, I drove through it just yesterday. It's on Moa Point Road, and connects Moa Point and the southern end of the airport with Lyall Bay. That one's only been around a few years.

i wanna sue the company for changing the bells i wish they kept at least one of them
i am gonna buy some duch e bells and put them on a homemade railroad crossing
It has the same Māori voice like the MonoSpace at the Te Papa museum. I wonder if there's just one Māori language voice that exists currently, and they just put in when they want the lift to be bilingual. It could possibly be a third party board. I just find it strange how a Kone MonoSpace and a Schindler 7000 have the same voice, and I think the Maori language should be used more often in new lifts :)
This particular Te Reo Māori voice is indeed supplied by a third party (namely Cirrus, AKA the largest third-party distributor of NZ who is also responsible for supplying Dewhurst and Everbright buttons over here), and is the most commonly used whenever they want a bilingual voice unit (though instances have popped up of this voice being English-only too). There is supposedly another Te Reo Māori voice, found on some Schindler 5500s at the Ao Tawhiti school in Christchurch, and recorded by a student of that school (Rangimarie) who was advocating for the use of Te Reo Māori in more accessible contexts, like elevator voice units. Her voice files have not yet been sighted in any other elevator in NZ outside of the aforementioned 5500s, which makes me think they’re either associated with Schindler, or just a one-off for that school. I cannot confirm or deny either way. Lastly, *ka pai, e hoa!* As a New Zealander myself who feels incredibly inspired by Māori language & culture, it’s great seeing foreign enthusiasts with a similar desire to honour it and see it being utilised more! 😀
WCH Type 4 E-Bell
That female passenger on the bus is just like Johanna Konta because that passenger has got a rather great pair of legs.
They have ruined them BUT they were NOT working properly. The replacement is appropriate and not a downgrade.
