Wrexham's goal-less draw in Real Zaragoza in the second round of the European Cup Winners Cup was a brilliant result for Dixie McNeil's side in 1986. They also drew 2-2 in the second leg with the Spaniards going through on the away goals rule.

The 1977-78 season saw the realisation of a 57-year-old dream as Wrexham reached the second tier of the English Football League with an emphatic 7-1 victory over Rotherham. Their biggest win of the season capped quite possibly their biggest season of all time as they finally joined the illustrious company of Newcastle United, Sheffield United and West Ham United. With promotion already secured ...

'Match Day' A Day in the Life of Wrexham FC
Very nostalgic how I miss living there ,Avow played a big part in my life, thank you for making this film.
Rewatching this pitch right after Wrexham got promoted AGAIN to League 1. Also need to mention I have been following the club and town from a very small town of 1,000 people in rural northwest Tennessee. Talk about global appeal!!
and now they are in league 1. Wow! what a journey.
Man baldy ain’t cracking a smile
What a remarkable time capsule!
The captain on the right of the ref before kick off is enormous!😮
So many faces❤️ So many hats😊
Wow! The size of the crowd is incredible!
Corrupt council!
Loved this, so many areas completely unrecognisable these days. Surprised they didn’t show the football stadium the oldest international football stadium in the world!
Well done Wrexham for taking a chance on these guys!
Burnley 1 Wrexham 0
Indeed it was, a very lucky deflection to win it!
I love that Rob shared his feelings about the Eagles winning the Super Bowl and what the parade meant to him, especially knowing that he and Ryan and the team have already delivered one such parade to the community of Wrexham in relatively short order. Here's hoping they promote up again either this season or next and keep on promoting up.
Looking back with you two shows where Wrexham team showed what they can do , an it did 2 men that said let's do this. An so they did!!! Congrats guys, sometimes it's best to follow your heart, An so taking this chance paid off. I love Wrexham my self As a child I love watching at a park near buy the Portuguesse teams played an were great here in New Bedford Mass Those were the days ❤❤
I watched my first soccer match this morning. The Wrexham game was on at 10am this morning in the Eastern United States and I bought it online. I have to say I've made a huge mistake for 43 years by not watching or playing soccer. I'm hooked now. Watching the documentary and getting to know the players and the townspeople has been a privilege. I come from a small town and a state that has no professional sports. If I could I would pack up and move to Wrexham right now. Lol. It's a beautiful game. Can't wait to watch the next one. #Wrexham
Came to Wrexham 1993 thinking it would do me for five years. The only place you could get a coffee then was McDonalds so that’s one thing which has improved. But there are a lot of people left behind in the modern world not just in the town but in the outlying villages where there is no work and little public transport. But that’s not the whole story and l find it an endlessly fascinating place
Best ever night bar none.
Imagine modern referees trying to run around in full suits & cleats! Very interesting, thank you.
Exactly my thoughts!
How amazing to look and listen to such a well put together film and give us all knowledge to the past times of Wrexham....thank you to all that contributed to this production....Jane Rochfort
The GREATEST champions ever to grace the Cae Ras. I stood next to the players on the directors box balcony as they took their sock ties off and threw them down to the sea of happy faces below. This video brings a tear to my eye every time, guaranteed. 👏🏻
As a Glasgow Rangers fan i hope Wrexham go on to clinch promotion and get to the Premiership 👍 All best and Good Luck ill definitely be keeping an eye in this story and Wrexham will be a new team going in my Football Coupon when the new season starts👍👍
Great wrexham side
What are the 1.6% who voted no thinking now, I wonder…
Talk about keeping your word.
and they hate chester as well
As a horrible cynic, I just want to slag these guys off as outsiders trying to build their brands as celebrities at the expense of the club but that’s just not the case. They have done so well and Wrexham itself plus the club have been so willing and accepting. Kudos to all. Congrats on promotion and keep climbing!
Only 25 years later... up the town !
Im a life long LFC fan. Its been wonderful watching Wrexham be lifted up. At this point Rob is a sports fan, if not quite absorbed by the magic of football. He gets what sport means to a community. Here Ryan is the business man and philanthropist. Watching him discover how football gets into your soul has been weirdly emotional. But the real hero is Humphrey Ker for getting Rob interested in football and creating the shortlist that put Wrexham top.
Tottenham 'Fan' here, local to Tottenham too, and this is so wholesome to see. Im so happy for Wrexham fans. This is a fairy tale and its actually making me re discover football and fall in love with the game again
This was the start
Best decision a club ever took to say yes to these two. They have been brilliant for Wrexham.
I love these two right now, thank you you absolute legends.
They have delivered every promise so far
I do not recommend watching this stoned. I am crying like a baby and now I’ve noticed how many times Rob says “um” and now I can’t pay attention to anything else.
Stupid comment
From about 27:10, there is a jump in the video that puts the audio completely out of sync. It is completely unwatchable after that.
You forgot cover beating the hell out of Chester 😅
Worked out pretty good. 💪
The only thing that saddens me is that I'm only just discovering this! I can't wait to start tuning into games.
I love watching this now (April 27, 2023) after Wrexham has just been promoted. Talk about hitting all the goals they set for themselves.
Just wanted to comment on this and say it's happened again, a year later! Two promotions in as many years. What a moment this meeting was for the future of Wrexham AFC
19:27 "FOSTER!!!"
Jersey now!
Two years in, and they're making good on every single promise. What a story. Up The Town.
As a non-sport watcher from Canada, I watched the Netflix show & have cheered for the team & the city in a passive way. Congrats to everyone.
I'm a North Walian ex-pat who's been in Oz for over 40 years but when I was a lad I travelled the 32 miles from my home town to the Racecourse dozens and dozens of times when they were in Division 2 and 3 ... there were some memorable moments but dark times came, and I think it's fair to a lot of us didn't realise how dark some of those times were, so all I can say now is that I am so effing happy this has come to be ...
Just wait till Ryan and Rob sees pissed Wrexham supporters XDDD
I think you're a bit late to the party, they've both been drinking in the Turf for 2 years! 🤣🤣🤣
@@wrexhamhistoricvideos4662 Yeah but I meant truly pissed fans XD. When they get there in the Big Boss divisions.
A lad interviewing A list celebrities is so beautiful
IT WORKED! League 2 Next!
It's amusing when people pretend that women's football isn't a blackhole for money.
Wrexham women team fill the stadium on regular basis. This is not WNBA.
@Shahrul Aiman you may notice i said women's football and did not single out wrexham? The league will be a blckhole and no money will be made, only lost. That is fact. Accept it or don't. IDC.
Formula 1 is a blackhole for money as well. Doesn't mean people don't care about or enjoy it. Plus it's not your money so you don't need to worry about it.
They kept their promise and got them promoted 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
So now we can look back on all the negative forecasts- take that! Go Wrexham! It’s been a fairy tale so far and long may it continue!
This is so well scripted but, watching them win the league, I think they get it now.
