Great video. I bought mine in 2017 because it was the cheapest. I use it every year with no repairs and just a little maintenance. I feel like I've gotten my moneys wort out of mine but I am gentle with it.

Got mine for $400 used. Been out mowing 4 times since, bout 2 acres every 2 weeks. First time out it slipped the drive belt. Hired a sorta local guy to come fix it bc this is my first house and in turn, first mower, and I didn't know if I'd be able to fix it myself... Well, dude charged me $350 for the visit: 10 min of pulling the drive belt back into place and 70 min travel both ways from his shop. I got RIPPED. Never using him again. Next mow was fine. No issues. Third time out, I had the deck belt slip and I decided to fix it myself. Got the recommended belt thru amazon as well as new blades, dropped the deck, got the belt run exactly like troy bilt says to in their video on YT, and got the blades on good and tight. 200 yards into the 4th mow, the belt slipped again. I now have a 1/2 in x 96 in belt instead of the 96.5 in belt I originally got on it and it seems to be holding... BUT.. the right side idle pulley belt keeper snapped off while testing after I put on the second new belt!!! Luckily the belt didn't slip - now I'm just waiting for the OEM belt keepers (which troy built charges over $10 for - I probably could have gotten some 1/16th in steel and bent it / drilled it myself for a few bucks) and this mower SHOULD finally be able to run some mows without having any belt issues, (God willing). I never had to remove the deck to replace the belt . It takes 5 minutes . If you have a lawnmower jack it helps . The hardest part is pushing the tension pulley back so you can slip belt over the last pulley , You can use a crow bar or large screw driver

You could just put a hose with a valve on it. Brass tube fittings and a small shutoff valve. Works great no mess, no wrenches.

Simple fix for the oil drain. Get a pipe nipple that’s the right length to extend it past the frame but not to long that it sticks out and can be broken off. Then get a pipe cap to use on the end as your new drain plug and just extend it. I’m amazed at how many pieces of equipment from my air compressor to the lawnmower have overlooked this and the damn drain dumps right onto the frame. A trip to the hardware store and a couple dollars later and the problem is fixed however your still going to spill oil everywhere the first time because you have to drain it before you can put the pipe nipple on, but after that it’s much better!

I just purchased the Troy-Bilt 42 in. 15.5 HP Pony Riding Lawn Mower, Briggs & Stratton Engine, 500cc, Steel Deck, and was looking for the oil filter and could not find it to save my life.

On sale in 2012 for $999. Have replaced the in-line fuse, ignition switch, and standard stuff like batteries, blades, spark plugs, air filters, gas filters, oil changes, two front tires (needs rear tires and a deck adjustment). This has been a dependable mower.

What's missing in my life is more people that have exchanged primitive belief for understanding of Science.

John Deere tractors also have safety switches but I don't have any pedals or levers on the left side of the tractor. I can go from Forward to Reverse by simply taking my right foot of the large "Go" Pedal and depressing the smaller "Reverse" pedal. That's because John Deere tractors actually have a legit Hydro-static Transmission.

I got new air filter but discover that part where hook it up was missing but need know what that part called where put connect air filter to that black part.

2005 Troybilt 42" Bronco. Mowing 3 acres in county. Just this week put new engine in and welded the deck where it was cracked at the brackets. Decided on repair rather than purchase of a new mower due to the lack of craftmanship in the new ones. This has and continues to be a workhorse mower and tower. Blessings

Just bought my first riding mower from a neighbor, it looks like that but doesn't have that reverse feature, I believe this is a 2009 model. One thing I dislike is when I need to reverse, I keep forgetting to disengage the blade and then the whole mower cuts out. Also I have a huge yard and the middle has a dip in it and when I mowed across it, it felt like I was about to fall off or that the mower wasn't gonna make it up, I'm a big guy but thankfully it did make it back up. Not sure how I feel about it, might have to look into something else or go back to my push mower. Thanks for the video.

To me the message I got is that tree could have died after the date was harvest like we will die, hundreds or thousands of years will go by and we will be remade again on the day of Judgement. So far, among the utube sweet potatoe growers with the most harvest , the easiet and most economical is the guy who grew in straw bales - The Garden Family. Loose medium like straw, hay or dried brown leaves as they gradually compost provides the warmth, controlled moist and nutrients ideal to this type of tubers. If you have Tractor Supply around your area, you may check their DuMOR 2-String Wheat Straw Compressed Bale. Compare his harvest to your's and the amount of work and time spent. Check out the health of his potato. Notice how much easier to harvest with clearner tubers. Building up a platform to raise up the containers to let the slips sprawl downward can save time from trellising, keeping them away from the ground.
