This is another example of a nice solo you can play in Soli. If you ever go to the Gambia and want to do some drumming or practice a bit in a nice quiet surrounding you can contact these musicians. They will help you to get there. It is a place outside the tourist area in Kotu Latrikunda. Ousman Camara (oustejoe at yahoo dot com) local tel.nr (00220) 7027549 or Bubacar Camara (00220) 7719858 Th...
african drum robot playing soli and takosaba

This is my african dunun robot. This electronic friend plays the melody on the 3 dununs while i can concentrate on playing the djembe patterns. After making a midi file, the midi-player or laptop sends the midi information to a decoder to finally drive the electric drumsticks. Getting the idea was more easy than building it. Specially finding the drumstick-actuators, making no noise, consuming ...

In this recording Alya Bangoura is playing his solo patterns for Soli with only the sangban for the timing. Then it is more clear how to play these patterns. There are more different solo 's of course. This is just an example and very much his style of playing. Special thanks to my friend Tom for the good stereo sound in his recordings. Enjoy!! Like most of my other video 's this one is also recorded on a compound in Kotu Quarre, very near to Serrekunda in The Gambia. I hope you will also enjoy this one. It is recorded in good stereo sound quality by our friend Tom. March 2010

For those who are seaching for nice solo's i share it with you for educational purposes. With...

😉Thank you for your comment! Respect for your very nice percussion channel. To answer your question... The people here eat together from one dish and with their hands in a very behaved way. I (pupil 15) could not find a fork or a spoon or any other metal to hit the bell with. Hope you like their very old and authentic music.
@@drumsticks100 oh ok, thanks for answer and thank for see my channel!!

cool 👍 very nice y friend thank
sweet!
True roots Maane!!!!
cool
Who are they? They're amazing!
its the difference beetwen the relaxing, dreaming, rolling base-line and the activ, awake, rollling djembe pattern, which makes this one so amazing!
you can even spot out the difference of rythmic pattern in the behaviour, body, gestics, etc, of the players. The player on the left side with the active pattern is nodding his head clearly, showing lots of contraction in his muscles. His eyes are open and mainly focused on the bass. The bass players lays more kind of back. At some point his eyes are even nearly closed, he mostly watches down (thats why i called this part dreaming)
lovely.
Thank you, that's nice
good job! Thanks
Love it...good job...
