Hi there, David and Danielle here and we are so happy to be sharing our journey with you.
Come along with us as we deal with the ins and outs of vintage motorhome ownership; repairs, maintenance, DIY, rattle proofing, waterproofing, soundproofing, boredomproofing..... And maybe some travel stuff!
Our goal with the 1995 Airstream Landyacht Cutter is to restore her to a reliable and respectable apartment on wheels, worthy of the Airstream name! With some determination and elbow grease, lets get the Big Box back to better than basic!
Welcome to our lives, inside the box!

Winter Warm Up for the Big Box (did I really need to make a video about this?
All winter long I have been going out every couple of weeks and warming up the airstream. Partly to keep things from sitting too long without cycling, and partly because I'm getting the itch to get out there on the road again!
There are a few schools of thought when it comes to starting a stored vehicle and many are valid. One thing to keep in mind is that whenever a vehicle is run, weather its cold or warm out, the engine should be brought up to normal working temperature and remain there for some time before being shut down again for an extended period. There are some exclusions to this rule but this is what I adhere to for my vehicles.
I also kept the batteries in the airstream this winter. For a couple of reasons. First is that I got lazy at the end of the season and then never bothered to take them out after that. Second, I have no idea how much life the batteries have left in them and I figure since I am upgrading the whole electrical system (yeah, ill make videos) throughout the summer, I didnt feel all that motivated to preserve the ones I had. That being said, they seem to be holding up in the cold quite well. I mean, every time I go out and do the whole warmup thing, they're ready to fire up all systems. So thats something.
Enjoy, and perhaps, subscribe?
David.

Went to check up on some of the Airstream maintenance and while I was at the shop, was delighted to find there was an auto/airplane show going on right down the street. I then proceeded to pretend that I was a youtuber that knew what he was doing. Check it out! -D Audio/Video Assets: Motion Array: motionarray.com/
Fixing the Generator in the Airstream - First major project complete!

Knocking off another item on the Airstream 'Fix this please' to do list. Its about time we took out this old Onan Marquis 5000 that hasn't been run in quite a few years. Or at least as far as we know. This is the first major project tackled since taking ownership of the Landyacht and it was fun.... interesting.... troubling.... stressful... I mean, just watch and see. It didn't go great at the ...

Assembly of the torsion box assembly table. Assembly.
zhlédnutí 2,1KPřed 9 lety
Heavily under the influence of The Woodwhisperer, I decided to build a torsion box assembly table of my own. Here is me doing that.
Hi, beautiful work. However, when you put video fast speed was hard to see how you weaved the laterals. I noticed you used the string double, but not sure if you attached underneath or how. Can you show the bench upside-down, sometimes this image is helpful. Also, what is the name of the material of the cord? thanks. Beautiful bench.
Great video. I have 5 plastic rattan chairs that I need to replace. The style is almost the same but I have to wrap under not tie on nails. Any advice - Coz it looks like mine are all made from one length of Rattan!
I would have to thread 6 miles of Rattan up and under the main wefts!
I have an big old garden chairs the wood I restored want to do this where I live there is no one who can make it like this so I decide to to by myself when I have time.Thank you for your informative video how many mm jute rope did you use it and will it withstand 120 kg tall man thank you in advance for your answer.
This man gets shit done
❤
Duck tape, gods greatest creation.
I would have liked to see how you got to the end as yougot the cord to tack it down.
Es una obra de arte
Igualalo no que lo agas mejor, igualalo
Great stuff. Looks like you used a different approach to installing the main strings. Most folks seem to start from one side and work their way over whereas you did all the long ones first and then went back to wrap each rail. Your way seems more efficient and the end result is identical. We're you happy with the tension?
Muy buen trabajo, felicidades, quiero aprender esta tecnica para un proyecto en mi casa y este video me sirvio muchisimo, gracias por compartirlo.

Bom dia. Onde compro essa corda para trançar?
Well, it doesn't do you much good when you don't show how you started it. You're way past the three original wraps but I have no idea how you began. You sir are not a teacher. sorry
Qué hermoso 😃
Alguien sabe que como se llama ese tipo de cuerda
I wish you would put notations to the things you are doing so those of us, who want to give it a try, can know what you are doing, at all times
Can you tell me the diameter of the rope?
Hermosísima pieza, simple y perfecta.
Gracias amigo, gracias por ver. ¡Que estes bien!
Nice work! How many meters of rope do you use for that bench?
Hi there, for the shorter bench it’s just over 2lbs of paper cord. I use much larger rolls so it’s harder to gauge but a good rule of thumb measure is 2lbs per dining room chair sized weaving. Thanks for asking!
Video begins with footage of delicious pour over coffee *like* …nice framework…clean as you go….hmm Beautiful footage of contemplative doggo *subscribe 😁🥰✌🏼
Thanks for watching Kelly! Glad you have you!

Hi there, Franks Cane and Rush Supply is a great source. Otherwise, search for danish paper cord. That is what I used here however wouldnt be suitable for outdoor furniture.
