    Hello, i setup my ssh. I can login, but when i try to execute command via ssh to backup my config via tftp I get the error: exec request failed on channel 0. Any ideas?

    Thanks for the video. Seems the previous owner changed the owner name(illustrated as the serial on your unit) to the company name. Used maintainer and the password as you described, but failed to login.

      It is Cisco Packet Tracer. It is free but I think you have to sign up for a free Packet Tracer course to download it.

    this helped me out! thanks! picked my 30E up from a scrap yard! :D had to make my own console cable. its a standard 9 pin COM (DB9) plug to standard CAT5/6 network cable plug (RJ45). the pin outs are: pin 2 of DB9 to pin 3 of RJ45, pin 3 of DB9 to pin 6 of RJ45, pin 5 of DB9 to pin 5 of RJ45. do as i did and use an old network cable. works great! you can just solder the CAT5/6 wires to make them like pins and poke them in the female pins of a com to com cable. hope this helps someone in the future! :)

    Your brain works in an interesting way. I think I learned how subnet masking works by following how YOU understand it and processor it, but must say that now I know I'm not sure I would explain it that way. But I suppose you did accomplish the mission.

    One of the best, and simplest explanations I've seen, and makes great sense. One tip, though - with all those binary numbers in PowerPoint, left alignment would have worked far better at telling the unveiling story than the centre alignment.
