Hello 😊 I came across your video regarding preservatives and i have been going back and forth as to whether or not to add a preservative in my naturally made salt, sugar scrubs. Typically I have not been adding them in since I would like to stay in the "natural" field, however, i do know that adding a preservative in would give it a little more shelf life. I guess my only concern/worry is when it comes to making sells, ex: making to order or making to stock, of course the moment you make a scrub its shelf life begins to lessen and that doesn't give the potential buyer much time to use considering theres no preservative to give them more time to have. Please help 🙏🏽 any advice is greatly appreciated. Most of my scrubs are with salt, however, i do make some with a salt/Sugar blend.

You can't say this is 100% solubilized or emulsified coz it just a few minutes, phase separation need some hours to separate and not in just few minutes.

I think the percentage you have said is incorrect. 1g is not 1% of 6g and since you have added 1g more, it becomes 28.57% of the mixture (oil & solubilizer) or 1.18% solution (including the 10g water) or 40% of the oil (2grams of Polysorbate 80 for 5grams of Olive Oil).

Hi, I ordered the handheld MiniPro with a homogenizer attachment to mix a massage oil that consists of 85% oils, 13% butters, and 2% candelilla wax plus vitamin E and 2% lecithin. I want to achieve an emulsion texture even though I'm not using a water phase. I will be making 1000mL. My question is, approximately how long and at what speed should I use the MiniPro with the homogenizer attachment to achieve something close to an emulsion texture? I would appreciate your advice. For my case i think the seperation is due to an emulsion mistake ( i got oils floating on the top surface) I got an emulsifier wax from my manufacturer and he told me to put oil in water but it wasn't true when i searched the web. I have found that water should be added to oils. I think this can also lead to cream seperation right?

Thank YOU for addressing this common issue with pets and essential oils that are toxic to the dogs and cats. I am horrified by all of the products that are dog and cats shampoo etc that contain toxic oils such as lemon oil, lavender oil, tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil, pine oil…. The list goes on and on 😢 I even alerted a company called: New Directions Australia who sell raw and cosmetic ingredients including base products etc that their dog shampoo had several known toxic essential oils listed as toxic on the ASPCA website as well as other veterinary websites as proof to them, and they responded back to me saying it was safe in small quantities! Seriously? What about repeated exposure such as once a week and what about cats and dogs who lick their fur! I said to them, why even risk it? Why not use non toxic oils such as rose, sandalwood? Apparently their help desk chemist doesn’t care and has no intention of changing their ingredients to non toxic shampoo, conditioner and sprays!! I’m still disgusted with them for being so openly negligent and putting innocent pets at risk. I’m not a chemist and o know that our skin absorb these things and so do our pets. I’m filled with gratitude to you. ❤ 🤗 It’s difficult to find unscented dog/cat grooming products that don’t have nasty ingredients. I found 1 brand so I continue to use that for now. It is “soap free” Thanks again 🙏
