I have the version with just 2 cross bars that holds 2 kayaks. Any idea where I can get the "trees" to put up the second set of bars and convert to this model?
nice
Cool!
Looking forward to more unboxing videos.
Link to buy this hatch?
Thank You for this great install video!
Just got the EC 39 today assembling. My axle doesn't come assembled but can figure ouot with the video
it has been1 year since i bought my new right-on trailer for my zuma...(poor mans laser) the lighting and wiring is cheep and fell apart and needs to be replaced with a whole new trailer light and wiring kit. light rust starting to appear in places, but it is stored outdoors in brutal florida sun. so like anything stored outdoors it is going to need maint from time to time. still works fantastic though as a 1 man operation for getting the boat in the water and back on the trailer.
Could ya run the damn video any faster??? I wasnt expecting an every detail blow for blow. But. C'mon man Its running way too fast to be able to get a feel for whats involved
Hey @drediock. Feel free to reach out and we can answer any questions you may have 954-523-7778 or jesse@liquidsurfandsail.com. Or you can simply slow the playback speed on the video to your liking.... If you need help knowing how to do that let me know.
What hatch is this?

You said silicon but you didn't do silicon
well done bro👍👍👍
If you were directed here by Eczebrok.com the site is a fraud site. Buyer beware! Do not send them any money. I work for www.LiquidSurfandSail.com the actual seller of theis product that Eczebrok stole our video and product info for. Currently these trailers start at $999-$2999.
Ok I was directed here when viewing a smaller 2 yak trailer. The product is apparently manufactured by Continental . Cost listed at 89.00. Is this the same base trailer with a 4 yak upgrade?

@@jessecORS etteonil.com is the current site advertising the 2 yak Continental trailer for 89.00 . Thanks so much for the heads up. Guess that pricing was too good to be true.
etteonil.com is the fraud site with the link I followed. My tgtbt-sense was tingling anyway.
buy from liquid surf and sail just got mine today. Jesse was awesome updating me on the shipping
What is the price on this unit?
I have one for my zuma, perfect for where you can drive on a beach and launch. but as you saw, it works better if the trailer is already hitched up to a veh so it wont roll forward.
No silicone huh? Kids nowadays!
So u never touch the water 🙁
I did this on my Solo some time ago. I used pan head bolts about the same diameter as the ones he used and used washers and vinyl locking nuts. I had to drill out the tapping holes on the backing plate to do that. It takes some guts to start cutting up you Solo. This video does a good job of showing how to do this. I had to do it with out this. I did have some help from someone who already had done it though. One side note is do not freak out when the hatch does not sit flush before screwing it down. It will be OK. Excellent video
Was thinking thru bolt with nylock nuts too..
Great video guys. Really appreciate it
Man ive been wanting to do this!
Nice job good video two suggestions one use your drill bit to drill out The notches for the latches makes a nicer job a little easier second put blue painters tape on the bottom of your jigsaw that way you won't scratch the whole great video thank you
Don’t you put bedding compound between the joints?
We use Silicone or closed cell foam gasket but unless you plan to use you Skiff as a submarine it's not really needed as the amount of water needed to run over that hatch to cause any significant leakage is massive.
I am curious as to how the hatch sits after a while. Does it warp after a while? I am concerned that the curve of the skiff will tend to separate the hatch from the boat surface since its only held in place by screw without nuys and washers on the inside
Hey Hector, The backing plate/gasket acts like a large washer sandwiching the the deck between the hatch and square backing plate see 11:45
@@LiquidSurfandSailcom thanks for the reply! The reason I asked is that I installed a hobie round 6 inch hatch, 'too dammed small' and I can see that just beyond the hatch the boat surface dips. I think I will end up with the bigger hatch eventually. Again, thanks for the info!
Would like to know what brand and size of the hatch and where it could be purchased? Also maybe the cost?
That looks like a hobie 8 inch hatch but not 100% sure
Hobie Square twist and stow hatch
@@LiquidSurfandSailcom I found the hatch on amazon but where do you get the bucket that goes inside the hatch?
no cost ? that Hobie hatch cost some big bucks look online found one for about 40$ used silicone and nut and screws. Then just find a 5$ container to fit inside hatch way cheaper. anything Hobie is way over priced, try to look at more diy stuff.
