What filter adapter you used in the front of the lens?
There is none actually on the RX100, that was an adaptor that came on it when I bought it and ended up removing it. The Sony A7IV im recording with has a polarpro variable ND filter.
@@maherzi_ ok, I thought there was a metal stick to the outer front of the lens. Which looks like a lens adapter for filters.
@@pixiethejack Yep, I actually thought I can just put a filter on it. Then went to B&H to get a pro-mist filter and realized I need another specific piece to go ontop of this one to be able to actually use it. Hence I just removed it. Might experiment with filters again once I am back from my travels.
@@maherzi_ cool. I browsed Amazon and saw some of those adapters for this model. I might get one to play around with the filters for this camera.
@@pixiethejack Let me know how it goes. Just be careful because it basically gets glued on there. I thought I almost broke the camera when I was trying to take it off.
Hopefully Sony notices the demand for compact point and shoots again and finally release the Mark 8
I am hoping to nudge them in that direction. They are sponsoring an online 3 part series about this camera actually. So I am hopeful. Especially if the series we are making is received well. Stay tuned for that. I am also working on another video doing travel content with it… coming soon :)
@@maherzi_ No, don't give a new camera, sell us new firmware.
I’m glad reviews are still coming out for this camera 5 years later 🤭
Gostei muito e o "muito muito obrigado" também tenho uma Sony RX100 VII
De nada!!
I think with this type of camera, you have to change the way how you shoot quite a bit. What I see in you images is, that you try to shoot it, like you would on your fullframe but there you're style is influenced by using a shallow DOF. Thats not what the RX100VII can give you and so the images look like there is something missing. But here is the thing, think more of editorial shots where you shoot apertures of F8 or 10. You have to think a little bit more, when the fore- and background are getting in focus together. It's a different way of composition. I don't wan't to stop you in doing what you do, but maybe think about tweaking your style a bit, to get this little camera into beast mode. ✌
Thats interesting. Didnt think about it this way 🤔 That makes sense because I usually shoot on prime lenses as well. For me I dont ever clearly see “my style”. Its an ever dynamic thing I believe. Using this camera has definitely affected how I shoot even with my full frame camera. The more I use it the more things change organically. Id be interested to see what you think of the next video/set of images. I wonder if “my style” has changed enough 🤔
hi maher..am actually a beginner level photographer and i used to do mobile photography, but due to its limited features am not able to capture the shots that i want, so while i was looking for a compact camera i found this one and sony zv1 mark 2 which was released last year. so what i wanted to ask you one question. This camera is released in 2019, so buying this camera now, would it be a right option compared to zv1 mark 2 regarding menu or some settings or touch sensitivity and all. doesnt it make us feel outdated of technology regarding menu or touch senstivity? so basically if you want to my usage....right now am not into any particular photography, i just wanted to do everything with the camera. jus capture all the beautiful things around.
I totally see what you mean. I personally prefer this camera simply because of the range. Although its not the latest interface. Once you get used to it, its not that much of a deal breaker. I am used to using the Sony A7IV which has the latest menu, but making that sacrifice for the range, for me is worth it. especially if you want to try taking pictures of a lot of different things. Hope this helps. let me know if you have anymore questions!
Очень позитивное видео и полезные советы на нескучном языке!. Удачи ребят, тоже хочу купить эту Сони!)
Спасибо! Glad you found it useful :)
it would be great for this video to be 4k otherwise the photos looks like.. processed too much
I completely agree, but I have to make sacrifices here and there to be able to make these videos as I still dont have sponsors on this channel. Perhaps in the future I will be able to! There a few more RX100 videos cooking :)
I have recently got this camera and it is very versatile Also the image quality is very great and sharp
Right?! Surprisingly at very high ISO also.
Friendship is a powerful thing.

I honestly can't stand this glowy ugly over done effect it's hideous
Can't stand people who have nothing positive or constructive to say, their attitude is hideous.
@@TallManMedia my constructive feedback is, ditch the over down bloomy look. It looks really cheap .
@@ValyenFluff Getting better, "In my opinion this video would be better without the overdone bloom. I think It makes the video look cheap" That way you get your point over, without needlessly insulting. Furthermore, at the end of the day, other people might like the look, and therefore you can't state it as a fact, because its just an opinion.
@@TallManMedia I know that YOU don't like the look either lol
@@ValyenFluff I actually do like glow for certain dreamy looks. I don't use it a lot, but do use it in the fashion space.
amazing!! so sad that i am leaving new york around then, but this sounds super fun! are you organising anything earlier?

how do you manage to maintain the rituals that make you happy while traveling?
One of the things I recently kinda learned actually is Slowing down. Realizing that there infinite things to do anywhere I go and doing the least. Instead of giving into FOMO and following a check list, slowing down enough to adopt new rituals that can equally make me happy. Its like the normal rituals but with a flavor of the place I am in.
ex: Going on a small adventure to the grocery store with your Host and getting food for stray local animals
I think this could be combined with its counterpart which is only allow yourself to take a *very limited* number of shots (1-3) of a subject with a certain composition. This forces you to slow down and really think about how you want the photo to look before pressing the shutter!
definitely! especially with subjects that are not moving
@@maherzi_ Oh, yeah. Haha that's all I shoot!
what brand is that mic?
DJI
Excellent points. Thank you for the video.

Maher, I can see you giving a TED talk one day soon.

Really good video. Its good that you highlighted the dark side of the Japanese society. Traveling to Japan has been on my bucket-list for quite a while, hope to go there soon.
Hope this perspective makes you have an even better trip! 🙏🏻
Good work bud
Grateful for this video. I have found success with a similar exercise. Before bed, I think of 5 reasons why I had a good day. Usually they are simple like "I have a bed to sleep on" or "I had a good meal" etc... Additionally, it's great you're touching on an intangible yet practical side of art. It's often over looked...
I never thought about doing that before bed, I am going to give that a try! simple is the way to go, usually the simple things are the things I take for granted. I AM SOOOO glad you are appreciating the "Practical" side of art as its actually one of my main focuses for this channel. I feel so grateful for your comment :) it made alllll the work I put into this video super duper worth it. Thanks for watching Foster <3
Great advice, great video Maher!
Bro this is inspiring! Well done and can't wait to see what's next
