      You generally have a vacation fund with a dollar per hour worked, so about 2080$ per year, in my local we don't get paid for time off in the IBEW, but you can take as much time as you can afford (you can use the vacation fund to help pay for your vacation(s))

    • @nicolasro4261

      so as long as you can afford it, technically you could take off a month in the summer and winter for example?@@Hitman.13.

      @@nicolasro4261 Yes, alot of journeymen are basically part time workers, they take a call (project) and work as much overtime they can, making alot of money, then when the project is done, they take off for months, then take another long call...

  • @binaryglitch64
    @binaryglitch64 Před 6 lety

    Okay well I'm going to be homeless in about a month, not my choice anymore, it's the consequence of my past mistakes... I have been an electrical apprentice in Arizona before, and I'm in GA now... I am for sure moving out of state now (no legal trouble I just hate it here, so why not start over somewhere else since I have to start over from the ground up anyways) and CO has always been my favorite state. So I need to know if I really want to work and get certified as a residential electrician, and I was considering going threw the ibew apprenticeship program, how much does it cost, like EVERYTHING because even a $20 application fee would have to be planned for. I will work hard and I know enought to land panels and diagnose a 3way on a service call where the customer/client has tried ro replace a switch on there own and let's say worse case it's pre 2011 so no 3 wire and the travelers are not marked and say a faulty switch or load is in the mix as well... so I'm no master electrician but I got the basics, and I know AZ code but I'm not certain what code I know is AZ specific and which is NEC... plus I've never worked under NEC 2017 as I think AZ has yet to adopt it... but I'll work and study hard, is ibew something I may be able to pull off with virtually no cash starting out? Also note I have no DL and no truck (or vehicle of any kind) and it's gonna cost me $1,400.00 to get my DL back. So if I meat a contractor somewhere daily and I do have my own tools... could I pull this off given my situation?
