You didn't do anything wrong with your stitch count. It was already 15 on the blue. The gray & red was 13.

Hmnmm. 'Wondering what the other side looks like. You might have shown it and I didn't catch it. Also (just my personal preference), the background or backdrop would probably work better if it were PLAIN. What we "students" really want to see (!!!) is the WORK in progress--not some mishmash of a previous crochet project. Again, IMO.

When we went to Australia, I learned to only pack a couple of balls of yarn. The one skein beanie would look lovely with the yak yarn❤

Is yak extra soft? Something around the face or neck maybe.

Even though I'm awake and actually on my tablet, I still manage to miss the Live😢 Can't understand how I don't see the pop-up:-( Funny about what sticks with us over time. Since Nate's in a whole other stage of life, I wonder if these are still a focus with him. My first reaction was "well, he's not retired and spending whole seasons in different homes, or he can afford a housesitter for those "living things"😅 In a way, I suppose it's like how crocheting changes during your life. When I was much younger I did quite a bit of thread crocheting, simply because I was so fascinated watching the beauty of intricate patterns becoming something useful. Although I still appreciate this, I am no longer able to use my hands this way, so I've had to change both materials and pattern choices. And the more different designers I become familiar with the more I see how crochet is still changing. It makes me remain interested and hope that my hiatus isn't permanent and I will be able to get back to making things. 🙏

Thoughts on chair seat cover: A tapestry cloth could work (in a simple design) to give the fabric substance and strength. Or a piece in soothing colors done in waistcoat stitch should be strong in the right material. (Maybe a fade using several natural wool colors) Not knowing size, shape and how it would be applied to the chair limits my ideas😅

"Have a relaxing and valuable use of your time." I think it's subjective. Right along with Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder. Valuable to one isn't necessarily valuable to another, but it is important to our soul to feel we've accomplished what we needed to do, to have created something with our own hands. I'm sure it's Wednesday where you are, Happy WIP Wednesday! 🧶

I've picked up knitting again (with --gasp-- two needles!) and I had some down time at work today to make good progress on my hat :)

Thank you Ellen for this video. I have been crocheting 50 plus years and still struggle to this day with patterns. It upsets me that designers have no empathy for us lefties. Like we don't exist but we do and WE BUY THEIR PATTERNS and so many will not have a clue on how to assit us. This video was magnificent! Not only showing how to work the stiches but how to cast off which is eaqualy important. Bless your heart for helping the south paws!!! (((hugs)))

I know maybe this is a big ask, but what would be fun is if you could make a quick 5 minute recorded video showing your Lake spot. I enjoyed the video you did outside. When I was a kid, my grandparents lived at the Lake of the Ozarks and seeing pictures and videos of lakes just brings back such great memories. ❤
