Rhode Island Bonito are back in the bay! Hobie Lynx kayak fishing
Labor day weekend, 2024. The Bonito are back big time and are travelling in mixed schools with 3-6lb Bluefish. They're hitting all day long, not just in the mornings - find the birds and the fish will follow. Diamond jigs and Yozuri mag darters worked all weekend long for me!

I hear ya man. Usually dont. Got a little lazy when hammering them.
Very nice whets this location I’ll take my kayak
🎉
❤️
love these videos, keep them coming!
Thanks!
Did you use an 8 foot sheet of 1/2" Plywood or a 10 foot sheet to build the floor????
8’. 10 would’ve been better - 1 piece
Thanks. I agree with your comment. You are very creative.
Thanks. Yankee thrift I guess
were you able to stand up in it while fishing?
Hey there. No. Still very narrow, I think it was 12” wide if I remember correctly. That was 5+ years ago
can the floor be assembled and disassembled (for portbility purposes)
Not easily. I screwed everything in with power tools. I imagine if you used wing nuts and bolts… maybe.
is the wooden board assembled on site as well?
:P
Fun!
Nice footage, how deep is the water there..
Hey. Between 1’ up to 6 or 7 not including tidal variations. Lynx is essential for these estuaries
"NO WAY" was EXACTLY what I said!
Same here😂
Still shocked
I still have that reaction when I watch it. Years striking out in freshwater and the answer was under my nose the whole time
Awesome job. New subscriber here. Keep them videos coming and good luck out there
Thx & you bet! Subscribed back too, tight lines
@@mojobudgiekayakfishing Thank you
Wow blitz everywhere, i think that little pause top water did the trick. Nice job landing drone on the your kayak 👍
Agreed on the pause.. thx man
Quick question what size of pvc pipe did you use?
That was 1.5” pvc schedule 40, but the exterior width was too wide for the built-in rod holders so I had to weld the 1.5” it with an even smaller PVC pipe to get it to fit in at a decent depth. I think I got that smaller pipe in the kitchen sink aisle the drain pipe that would go underneath the sink… But hey before you do any of that take a look at this mod I did, where I basically cut existing rod holders out and replaced it with legitimate ones. Way better. czcams.com/video/hCNnqc1c0Eo/video.htmlsi=5JVd6vhXxyIjm6QR
the drone, am sure I'd dunk it right into the ocean
I get super anxious man. Haven’t flown it less than 60% battery yet so I have plenty of time to take it slow landing

@EdUrqu !
Really loving these videos, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
wish you would say where you are launching from
Wow, your modifications are extreme! Might as well just go with a rigid kayak? Anyway I agree with your findings, I have the 330, seats are too bulky, rudders to shallow to successfully track the kayak.
Yes absolutely go with a a hard shell kayak if you can. I switched over to hobie pedal kayaks years ago but the SE was fun to mod
It’s time I make this mod on mine. Do u remember what motor you used or what size would be comproble?
Oh jeez. Years ago. That was a Newport vessels 36lb I think. If you’re going budget today look at watersnake. If you have more flex I would look at a bixpy of some sort. Would love to see your take on the mod!
zero quality control on these, missing seam tape, not glued, peels right off, nothing is welded. seams all leak. fabric tears easily with not even sharp debris. every single coleman tent made recently that i have used, leaks horribly in a medium to light rain. i don't know how it could even be possible for them to make a tent that doesn't leak. the poles litetally rip apart and shatter in wind. structure is completely unstable. fabric degrades in only a couple weeks of sunlight then rips to shreds. guylines are the same. outer coating turns to actual dust and toxic powder, inner snaps after a month of use under mild tension. stakes become rusty and fused to tent rings after a few uses in moderate humidity. almost the worst possible quality tents anymore. complete rip off junk, disposable garbage, use a few times and throw your new tent money away to the trash.
What do you think paddling wise. Which is better this one or the access?
Oh good question. Pure paddling the access 11.5 was best. Greater speed. Tracking in both is about the same. The sound 9.5 could maneuver much much better though, but was noticeably slower. Fwiw, I sold the access years ago and upgraded to hobie pedal kayaks. I kept the sound and still use it in small ponds.
We have a form of both of these kayaks. I love them both. I think they are both great paddling boats.
they're both really good platforms... the access 11.5 was a little awkward with the built int seat, but it paddled grreat, tracked great and was surprisingly fast
Yeah, I end up adding a seat and pad eyes on mine. It seems to paddle efficiently and track well. The Lifetime is quick and maneuverable.

LMAO. ya but that’s a good fish!!
Ya. Worth it.
Nice catch and video, I just got a drone still learning, need to learn to land on the kayak myself, would be nice to film while kayaking. Fishing.
Nice will check it out- Prime day too? You been getting out inshore? Been bummed all the weekend waves, had to do freshwater for the last month and a half, since 2’ swells is my personal limit
Nice! Surprised how clearly you can see in the water. I kinda accepted the fact there are going to be some sharks or whatever around
Super clear isn’t it?? I know there will be things out there that make me uncomfortable, would rather just know than wonder 😵💫
how are things?~ yeah. this is awesome masterpiece!catch you later- 😲
Awesome! Thanks for the watch man, Love your drone cinematography!
Once motorized, don't most states require you to register it with the state?
That’s correct. Massachusetts definitely does
love my sound , great little kayak, light
Pretty crazy just pieced up my own bass set up just like this today lol
Thanks for sharing! what color is that robo? i tried a margarita color but didnt have much luck
That is bold bluegill or smthg like that. Green and chartreuse/yellow. I think. I’m color bkind
Can you still swim in robins? I used to swim there in the 90s
Hey there. I actually don’t know but there is a large beach area there. I only go there about once a year and in early spring. Fwiw the water near the beach looks pretty clear
May I ask you where are you fishing? Best 😊✌🏻
Is that a Berkley lighting rod ?
Yes it is! 6’6 medium, 2piece. Would’ve preferred a one piece but this was on sale for $25. Great rods for the price
Glad to see that HMG ML was up to the challenge. Just picked one up and paired it with a Daiwa Saltist Back Bay 4000 to target reds and specks. Can't wait to try it out. Enjoyed the video!
Sweet. Did you go for 7 or 7’6”? Always wanted to try the back bay too, love to hear what you think of it
@mojobudgiekayakfishing I got the 7'6". It'll probably be a month or two before I get back to the coast, but I'll do some fresh water with it before then. Just a heads up if you are interested in the Back Bay, Neuse Sport Shop in NC has them on sale online for 125 right now.
Thanks for this video…. What have been your favorite colors to use?
I’ve really only had success with white, white with the red nose and sometimes bone colors. I’ve tried a few silver, green and also black ones but the classic Red Head has been the best by far
@@mojobudgiekayakfishing Thanks for this advice! Much appreciated!

yup,, not the most fun for sure but if you promised to bring smthg home... better get it done
How's the berkley cherrywood hold up to saltwater?
so far it's ok, but it's like the 4th rod I go to when I'm out.. I just use it for trolling so it doesnt see a ton of action. it's the guides I worry about more than anything.. just rinse off with freshwater asap when you get home
