This is the RS&S (Railroad Signs and Signals) channel specifically dedicated to working on museum railroad crossing warning devices.

How did you get WABCO AL-70 Gate mechanisms?!!
Most likely from an abandoned line.
It is unknown when the museum received the AL-70 mechanism though it was at least 20 years ago. However, there is information regarding to where it may have been installed before but I don’t have the ability to search old dot tag numbers.

0:07 sounds like a railroad crossing from Brazil
Im surprised you even put a counterweight on that. We have many that are on our LRT system that short and they even cut off the part that the counterweight bolts onto
For the time being you should put like a no trespassing sign where the counter weight is.
If I did that then people may not visit the garden railroad as it is the only convenient path to get there by visitors. Since the path is not super obvious that something else is past the crossings that is available to the visitors, it may turn them away from continuing past the crossings to get there if they saw a no trespassing sign. That is a good idea for my next project though.
@@RailroadSignsandSignals Yeah. Or like a sign that says, "don't go between fence and gate while activating," pry would be better in the mean time.

Lookin great! Still tryna get my hands on a gate mechanism, I know a someone who has a few WRRS mechs. Also, if you wouldn’t mind, how did you get parts for the AL70? The railroad museum I’m with has one but no one knows if it works.
Can you demonstrate how to wire or which relays you need in the cabinet to make the gate work.
