I grew up swimming at the pool at camp Logan. I always worked roofing and old timers would talk to me about old stuff here and there. One man told me about a black uprising to the Armory, he said "they couldn't get in to get the weapons but we shot them ni gers anyway.

I'm a 70 year old American white man, a Native of Iowa. It is currently popular for white men in media to disregard any form of Institutionalized Racism in America. And yet no group of white US Soldiers has ever had to face a situation like this one at the hands of black Americans. This is one of many situations where blacks are attacked, murdered, verbally abused, and disenfranchised merely because of their skin color. This goes on to this day. Black Americans know this and they live in fear that it may happen to them or their loved ones. This is real and justified. We must overcome this prejudice. We are, in truth, One Human Family.

The Houston police department instigated trouble and then got all they could handle. No black people in their right minds should've been in the military in 1917, and no black people should be serving today. If you're a young black person in particular, be smart and enroll in college.
