I don't always use acrylic. I have both a resin printer and FDM printer and use them both from time to time. Acrylic is really nice for pieces with small find details that might get loss on a FDM printer and doesn't require any kind of prep for molding like a FDM or resin printer need.

I sometimes will wipe it with a dry paper towel when still wet, it helps fill in the etching a little more and then once dry I wipe wil 90% alcohol. The alcohol does dull the resin so if you don't plan on doming it after I would use just water if you want to keep it shiny

If your using a resin printer printer ensure you completely seal your mold housing using "XTC Seal Coating or Inhibit X Seal Coating". The reason why is because UV Resin Inhibits silicone curing. This is extremely important, when I first started I had no idea and wasted so much time and money. But I wish you the best of luck and happy crafting. 😊

I generally don't dome my peices just cause I don't sell them and are using them as samples for my molds and want to make sure they stay true to the molds. But if I was going to use it as a keychain or sell it I would dome it then.

Sorry for the late reply but if you mean issues with the silicone not curing , with 2 part epoxy I've never had a problem with it not curing. UV resin is a different story though lol I have a 3d resin printer and I've tried a couple of different coatings to prevent cure inhibition but the silicone comes out tacky every time.

I dont do custom molds if that's what you are asking. Generally you don't want to take someone else's designs and make a mold out of them without their permission, it would be considered copyright theft. its why I make all my designs myself.

@@seyfertdoe - sorry, must be a misunderstanding here... I meant to make the product for the person to use in their own work, not for you to sell (unless you enter a legal agreement to represent/sell for them for a fee/commission) their work as your own. It would be a whole different business. Maybe in the future it would be a way for you to expand. I do art. Making a mold like that for my work would be an interesting option for me. :-) I would have to know the limits of your creation process to decide what to have you make. :-)

All the designs in my video (with the exception of the sophie and toffee review) are all my designs. I draw then myself and get them cut out on acrylic

It doesn't really matter. I've had a cheap 1.5 gallon one and I'm currently using a 5 gallon one with the same compressor that was for my 1.5 gallon one. They pretty much all work the same.

i've really only every used Alumilite resin because i can get it cheaply at joanns with a coupon . I have tried pedeo gedeo 2hr resin, its suppose to be used for just doming but i have used it to cast and it was nice but its expensive for what you get. i have tried miniature sweets, cheap ebay and hildie & jo UV resin and they are all pretty much the same. all resin will yellow over time some yellow faster then others so i don't think it really matters what resin you use. i haven't had anyone tell me that they had trouble demolding their pieces with my molds so i think you can go with what ever resin you feel like and be okay

I usually draw in paint tool SAI and convert the images to SVGs in Inkscape. I also use clipstudio to add a border around the images and also to make the housing shapes.

I also just found out there are dice molds kh themed that were approved by Disney months ago but they didn't think to include maybe one or 2 of those in the box when the bezels didn't get approved and opted for 2 plastic sheets instead lol its such a disappointment.

@@seyfertdoe ugh... yeah i age with you that the gummi phone molds shouldn't count as separate molds. They totally should have figured something out. I was kinda hoping for a shaker keychain or something at least. The bezels would have been great, or yeah even the dice. I dunno. I'm not sure I'll be buying another box any time soon.

Just a 3d printer. I send designs off to get cut by someone else. Working on getting my own laser cutter tho. They are just to dang expensive lol

@@Brandistill I get my blanks cut from goodeystudio. Also my 3d printer isn't the best so my housings really aren't up to the standard that I would want to sell them.

They didn't even make a fully detailed assembly video of the Gummi phone. Like i have no idea where some of those little parts are supposed to go...

as a first time customer im kinda like..."ehh. its okay" lol. compared to other boxes it kinda leaves me with wanting more. there's no glitter, clay pieces, metal bits. even the "shaker bit mold" is just one design. compared to the other Disney boxes, im just kinda disappointed. i've got a nice box out if it though lol

@@seyfertdoe well I’m betting Disney had a stipulation that they could only have Disney approved/inspired items in the box. I’ve ran into a similar situation when selling Lularoe when they had a Disney line. You were not allowed to feature the Disney items with other items or even have them on the same rack. Crazy rules no one followed but they were there.

Hello! as i said in the video i know that the bezels were removed i just think if they didn't have the final authorization they shouldn't have advertised them in the first place or at the very least inform the people who bought it way back in January that they we not able to include them. but they didn't and the only way you found out that they weren't going to be in the box was threw an Instagram post the week that they shipped. its just poor communication. and imo i don't believe plastic film is the same value as metal bezels.
