A hyperlapse of roughly [1/3,1/2] if [0,1] represents the whole flight. My first return with Anders' JS1 Revelation since I flew it last five years ago. This part of the flight was probably the toughest one, which can be seen from the relatively low altitudes on the OLC link below. Conditions as usual got stronger in the afternoon, and returning the airspace above us was limited to FL145 with b...
Winning the Danish Junior Gliding Championships!
zhlédnutí 594Před 5 lety
This is my final landing at August 5th during the 2018 Danish Championships held during Sun Air Cup. I was the only one among the 13 juniors to coplete the task that day, and there was only one more than me among more than fifty gliders in several classes to complete. Tricky day! Thanks to everyone there celebrating with me. Editing: Emil Dalboe

Never lock the airbrakes in short final, the shock of unlocking them will always destabilise your approach
Well done!
Jeg har også lige haft en rigtig en... Han koplede med blå, istedet for sort.
Nicely done!! Loved the effective, well-banked safe turns. Bravo!!
Holy crap dude!! Almost Cased it! Lolol! Rad video, nice save.
Chem-trail bei 5:00 im Schatten am Boden zu sehen? 😁

Was there a reasonable division of the landing somewhere? Position? Cross approach?
German? None of these terms is common in English aviator speak, AFAIK.

very nice!
What did you learn?
Not to scream in fear but act cool.
Fed video ✌🏼
I'm wondering about the yaw string that looks like it is pointing left most of the time. You'd expect an instructor trainee to be able to keep it in the middle in pretty much any situation. Could it be an optical illusion due to the camera angle though it certainly doesn't look that way? It looks like the yaw string is mounted slightly left of center as well. And you'd expect precise speed control, which he does have here initially at 90-95 kph, but then speeds up to a whopping 130 kph on the final turn and keeps it at 120 through most of the final. Not sure if it was intentional but those speeds seem excessive in these calm conditions (note slack hanging windsock at 10 o'clock after stopping).
Definitely angle of camera and wide angle lens. Check the slight side slip on final. String must definitely be centeret after this.
A formal argument: look at the two instrument panels. Find the center of these. Draw i line through these. This line is the center of the aircraft. The yaw string must have the same angle to the vertical line in the picture as the line you drew has with vertical in order to be aligned with the aircraft. Seems pretty close.
Very nice uphill landing! Good airspeed and timing, Where we fly in northern Sweden there are often not many acceptable outlanding fields, and hardly any level ones...
Hi, superb. 18 or 21 ?
18 m.
That glider upon landing sounds like my bed during extracurricular activity.
LOL
thank you! great ride................................
That was just a pass. Not low :)

Nice landing. And good speed for a uphill landing👍
Super
Cant wait to do that ☺️
Jeg så den skygade da jeg var ude og trille en tur på motorcykel. Den så episk ud fra jorden, men dét var den så også 😊
Easy on the control inputs!
Super
Nå, det er sådan du undgår virussen. ;-)
I didn`t have to pull nor didn`t pull anyone else because the rope actually broke… real life!
Somehow I don't think he was scared ;-)
Great
Nice
Can you tell us about your camera setup? I've never seen a gliding video that seems to have a stabilized camera that shows the rocking motion of the cockpit as you go through turbulence - the camera is usually in sync with the hull structure so you never see that type of motion. I'm wondering if you actually have the camera on a gyro stabilized mount of some sort or if this is the result of the new super-stabilization capabilities of the latest generation GoPro camera.
Your last guess is correct, this video is a raw file out of the GoPro7
When and where? Is that oxygen i hear?
This was filmed near Logageng, South Africa, on a flight from Bloemfontein this January. And yes - I am leaving the climb at 13.800 feet so oxygen has been running since 10k.
L7 - Look out for gliders ;)

so you are not the guy I knew from Finland. the spelling seems Danish or Norsk.
I guess you are talking about Emil Dalboe.
Beautiful video. Wich program do you use to show the speed and the altitude on your video ? Thanks.
Thanks! Garmin Virb!
@@SpeedbirdDK Thanks. I will try. My data information are coming from an Oudie IGC from Naviter. I hope that these data are registered in your program. Regards. Christian
@@SpeedbirdDK It doesn' function with the igc files. I suppose you use data coming direct from your camera and not from your naviter. I tried with another program called DashWare but it doesnt integrate the igc file even if I transform the file in a .csv. I have no solution...
@@swiftdereve you can convert .igc files to various other formats online.
@@SpeedbirdDK I could convert the igc file to a gpx xml. That new file is usefull by DashWare but not by Garmin Virb !!?? But one program functions. Thanks. Christian
Cool. Godt timet med at løbe tør for strøm! :)
Lasse J Ougaard Tak! Men der er altså masser af strøm efter landing!? :)
Ah, det er flarmen. Lød grangiveligt som et gopro der var ved at løbe tør :)

What a cloud street! How long was it? Thanks for these beautiful footages!
At which airfield did you land?
Leif Vejby Nr. Felding and Arnborg.
Holstebro Flying Club?! Thanks! Never been there, but been to Arnborg several times about 40 years ago.
So utterly depressing when the air feels smooth like velvet! Good safe landing though!
Why Two yaw strings?
Ross Clements it is way more precise. With one yaw string, you have no clue whether it is centered. With two yaw strings, they are centered when they are parallel.
That does make sense, I just have never seen a single place glider with two. Thanks
