I Bought a F-450 Limited to prove RAM Trucks are Better
Since I started the business I'm often asked why we only use RAM trucks. With the 5th gen RAM finally released. I wanted to show everyone that RAM truly does make the best work trucks out there. For hauling freight nationwide or launching your boat in the lake. I truly believe RAM makes the best pickup trucks. With the closest competitor to the RAM truck being a Ford. I decided to buy a F-450 limited to see how it does head to head against the RAM 3500 Limited. Is it all it's cracked up to be? Will it outperform? will it outlast? I have so many questions that nobody could answer. I'm here to answer those questions for myself and I hope you enjoy the ride as we prove RAM trucks are superior. Please let me know if there is anything you want to see compared side by side or in the working environment.

How can you "prove" what you already believe to be true? It doesn't work like that. Doesn't sound like you are even open to the possibility of being proven wrong. It's called "outcome bias" in case you aren't familiar, and that is exactly what you are doing. Don't be surprised if no one is convinced with anything you say...either way. I don’t get it. Lots of ppl like this guy say Ram is this and that. First off. Let’s set the record straight. Ram and Chevy can’t even build a truck without the assistance of Cummins/ Aisin/ Chevy/. Duramax/ Allison. 50 plus percent of their trucks are built to compete by outside companies. If u wanna compare truck for truck first build ur own engines and transmissions in house. Then let’s talk. Even wit help ur still not winning. Don’t believe me. Research it. He’ll Fiat owns Dodge if u wanna know the truth.
@jeffponder3999 You do realize I was saying Dodge is garbage, right? I was talking with my dad about the very thing you've said the other day. Dodge/Ram and GM can't even build their own engines and transmissions, and then owners act like they got something special. What's worse is that they will talk shit about Ford and say how terrible it is when they at least build everything they use in-house. Let me be VERY clear. Dodge/Ram and GM are absolute garbage and can only compete, kind of, because of companies like Isuzu, Allisin, and Cummins. The only thing that Dodge and GM products have going for them is that they're available BECAUSE no one wants them.

The F450 and the Ram 3500 DRW are both 1 ton trucks (14,000 lb GVWR).

Debating which truck is better, a Chevy, Ford or Ram can go on forever and it comes down to personal preference. I am a Ford guy. I don't make peanut butter sandwiches when driving, so have the luxury of a self driving vehicle such as a Tesla does not bother me. I also don't put on make up so having LED lights (Light Emitting Diode was invented in the early 60's) so your state of the art LED lighting is old technology as well. True not as old as Edison's light bulb. All in all your comparison's are lame and all your trying to do is be a troll and try to light a fire under Ford drivers ass. Enjoy your RAM (now owned by Fiat) and your bright LED vanity to put on your makeup.

Ford has made much improvements in 2023 F-450. Give it a new try, you may change your mind.

which trim level did you buy? I am waiting for my 2023 F450 Limited but it is taking forever. I am looking at some Rams now.

Have been in the vehicle business for over 20 years as a factory rep, a specialty in the service department for dealerships, I do not work for Ford or Dodge but have dealers who own 12 different brands and they all say if they could get rid of any of them it would be a dodge. Availability of parts, coverage of warranty, taking care of customers they all dislike Dodge
You don’t buy a $100,000 truck to prove you don’t like it. You buy a F450 because it’s NOT A RAM.

You sound like a girl. The f450 is a commercial rated truck. The ram 3500 is a toy for the ones who don't know how to drive. I've pulled 26000lbs with ease in an f450 during winter through the the rockies in the midst of a blizzard when sissyboys in ram 3500's are begging for their mochachino half caf soy latte and their mommies. In comparison on a 15% up hill grade the f450 is vastly superior.
That is great to hear. I currently have 2020 6.7 F350 Dually and ordered F450 Limited on Oct 28th and waiting. I personally like the look of Ford lot more than any Rams. F450 will be my last pick up truck and love the looks of Dually. I do not pull trailer but do carry some weights up to about 4k lbs time to time. 26k lbs is heavy weight. I hope you enjoy your truck for many years to come.
Both trucks (Ram 3500 and F450) are class 3.
I had a Ram 350 HO, pulls and stops amazingly. Stayed in alarm mode with the threat of shutting down in 150 miles, 2 times in 15000 miles. Yep, screw that, sold it. I don't need to be towing my vehicle across Texas an I accidently touch the brake and fuel pedal at the same time, Alarm Mode. Now I got to find a dealership.
really should be comparing the 3500 to the 350 dually, some stuff has to come out of the mix. Interior sure, but brakes and steering are just going to be different.
The F450 has the same GVWR ad the Ram 3500 DRW.
But what about a high country duramax??

@@markwilliams4525 there one of the most expensive trucks out there the older one were cheaply made and the v6 are junk but the hemi’s is what makes them a great truck and now ram trucks have probably the nicest interior of any truck and very reliable had no problems with mine and see so many people driving them.
Interior on the Fiat Ram falls apart when you go over rough terrain . A lot companies that I know for sure got rid of all of their Rams and went with Cheverolet or Ford because they could handle the hard work.
@@eddiesmith7070 chevys trucks are good trucks also but ford is honestly not most people who hotshot with trucks most of them use ram because there a better truck for towing the older rams I can see about there interior but the newer ones is the nicest in the game
My nephew works in the oil field business and the company he works for bought 12 new Fiats (rams) last year and traded them is 6 months because they were in the shop the majority of the time. Where I work our fleet division won't buy Fiats because they cost too much to maintain. I do like the looks of the new Ram but I would be worried about their dependability.

@@jamestopeka2236 the ram actually has higher payload and can actually tow more than the 450. The f450 isn’t a true 4500 series truck, which is why it’s closest competitor is the ram 3500. The heavier breaks, beefed up front section of frame, and wheels and tires are what make the payload 500lbs or more less than ram 3500 or even the f350. The f350 payload is also higher than the f450
@@jamestopeka2236 the reason Ram 4500 doesn’t compare to the f450 superduty is they don’t make a pickup version. They only make a cab and chassis, de tuned version. The ram 3500 dually, can tow just as much as the ram 5500 cab and chassis. Only difference between the two is the 5500 has substantially higher payload. The ram 3500 is really the best and highest performing tow rig someone looking to start trucking should consider. I’m buying a brand new ram limited dually or a brand f450 platinum…. Really considering the ford f450 beciase its 10k cheaper than my ram build.
oh man I had 2015 Dodge 3500 Laramie dually fully loaded. First owner. Worst truck I ever had. Always recalls and something breaking down. I love the mega cab though. I wish Ford would have that.
The ford has the most leg room even over a Mega cab . Only thing mega cab has is you can recline
I had a ram 3500 transmission went out at 38000 miles bought a ford f350 have 60000 miles on it no problems and love the power
before this pandemic came ram are the cheapest truck to get that's why they are everywhere..ram is the 1st dually truck i test drive then gmc,chevy but i ended up on the f350 because of its power,and only ford has the auto high idle..i think chevy has the smoothest ride

There is a reason that majority of hotshot drivers all drive Ram with no option no trim, save money and weight, while rich ranchers, Motorsports and RVers want comfort and medium truck class performance

Ram doesnt make a 4500 pickup. only a 4500 cab n chassis..... and Ford outperforms all the Commerical industry by far..... my wife drives RAM tow trucks her companys got 8 trucks varing from years 2014-2022..... took ram 8 years to fix an issue that caused the older trucks Frames to break... RAM cuts holes in their frame for the fuel and DEF filler necks......... Snapped 3 trucks frames and had to get welded up...... Never heard of a Ford breaking its frame......... even a overloaded one...
Did you buy an F-450 to make PBJ's or buy it to pull heavy loads? I'm confused. As the owner of a Ram pickup and Ford Expedition, I love both.
Facts, the ford pulls better, turns better and has a better transmission, has higher ratings….. I need it to make money. So anything over xlt and regular cab is for show not tow.

If I could get a Cummins wrapped in a Ford it'd be the best truck ever...not knocking the 6.7 power stroke but the Cummins is simple and still a beast. I'm actually curious as well...you have a fleet of trucks...aren't you a little worried about your drivers making sandwiches on the road instead of driving safely?

The F450 pickup is a class 3 truck and so is the Ram 3500. You have to get the F450 cab and chassis to get the class 4 version.

I'm so glad Ford got rid of International and makes their own engines. Ram guys biggest bragging point is the Cummins, which they don't make. Imagine if Cummins cut ties with Ram ! Ram guys would be shit out of luck !
True that, however I believe Ford bought Mercedes and I'm not sure how a Mercedes diesel will fair against a Cummings, Power stroke, or Duramax. But it would be interesting to see if Dodge decides to put a Mercedes diesel in their trucks.
