This channel is devoted to documenting our son's progression through racing, starting with L0206 Kid Kart Racing and progressing as far as he is motivated and able to. It may occasionally have other racing content if the interest and opportunity arises.
How To - Creating Data Overlays for Racing Videos
I was asked to make a tutorial of how I make the Data Overlays in Liam's racing videos. This video just covers the basics and will assume that you already know how to get the data file off of your Mychron into a .csv format. If you would like a tutorial about how to get the data file, let me know if the comments. Please comment with any questions and let me know if this tutorial helped you.

This is the Kid Kart Final on 9/8/24 at Badger Kart Club/Mill-Rite Raceway. After a long break from racing, we were thrilled to see so many kiddos from the region traveled to Badger for this race! Liam started P7 and managed to take an early lead and never look back! This was his last race on the Bus Stop layout in a kid kart, as he will be moving up to Cadet next season, and he set his persona...
Kid Kart Battle from P10 to P1

This was Heat 2 from the first race day of 2024 on the Bus Stop Layout at Badger Kart Club. Liam started P10 and worked his way to P1, never looking back! We are so proud of all his hard work and focus!
Scary Kid Kart Crash!

This was Heat 1 from Saturday 7/27/24 Kid kart race. It was a scary incident and fortunately both drivers were fine! They shook this off, we repaired a bent tie rod and a busted front bumper on the other kart, and they both went racing in the next heat! Our kiddo managed to get out there and take P1 in Heat 2! Epic Kid Kart Battle for the Win!

Badger Kart Club Kid Kart Heat 1 on Sunday 7/28. This was a double header weekend and our driver had a great weekend overall, including this win in a HOTLY contested heat race! #225 challenged hard and did a great job driving in this race! Badger Kart Club Practice with Buddy

USPKS visited BKC last week and left a lot of rubber on the track. Amazing how even the Kid Karts can exploit the extra grip! Both of these little guys set personal best lap times on this practice day and they both had a blast! Was a great day to spend with friends at the track.

After a difficult start to the day by his pit crew (rained out practice, kart stand flat tire, two dead air compressors, almost missing first session and forgetting to put gas in kart during the rush) Liam recovered nicely and took two wins in two races! What a drive! Proud Father here!

This is the kid kart feature race at BKC from 6/2/24. Had to overcome a poor starting position and a mid race mistake to manage 9th to 3rd in an 8 lap race. Learning occurred and we couldn't be more proud of Lil Man.

This was the first Kid Kart race (3rd Session of the day) on 5/19/24 at Badger Kart Club. Liam was driving well all day up to this point and unfortunately made a mistake that spun his friend into the grass in this session.

This was 5/19/24, first session of the day (practice). We weren't sure what to expect from Liam or the Kart setup, but all the practice he has done to start out this season has really paid off! Work work work! The kart was setup fairly well to my eye, Liam said it was "Perfect."

We are so proud of this little guy and all his racing friends! All the practice finally paid off and he got his first two wins! It was a beautiful day for racing and right from the first practice session he looked quick. He said the kart was "perfect" so I will take that as a win for the pit crew (me and his mom) as well!

How do you get the overlay data and track position on there like you have it?
@@dholzner I exported the Data from his MyChron into a .csv file and then use a program called Race Render 3 to select what overlays I would like to use. Would it be helpful if I made a quick how-to video on it?

@hughbottom4753 Thank you! It varies by the day but he currently wants to race in F1 or win the 24hrs of Le Mans.
I hope Dad is saving up for a "real" race car. Little man can drive and it only gets more expensive here on out.. lol Nobody on the track is even close to him.. he is on another level. I'm proud of you kid....JimEd
@@jimed723 Thanks for those kind words! We are going to CKNA Grand Nationals in October …. That will be a more interesting test of where he is at. Everything you see here is pretty much his natural skill tho, I have given him a few pointers but he hasn’t had any real coaching!

@@jimed723 The rear camera died on us, GoPro was amazing and will replace it for us despite the abuse it has taken …. But that process takes two to three weeks. That view WILL be back!
Thats crazy. The comers we run with run 40+ down the straight. They outrun the LOs in a straight line. Overall lap time is about the same between comer and LO at our track. You guys must run stock comers, the look a lot slower than the LOs.
@@nicko9579 There are definitely some quick comers …. Having not ever run one, I can’t comment on how strict the rules are for comers, but I think the experience of the drivers is the largest gap.

lol, so true! Our son is a Max Verstappen fan and the other boy likes Ferrari (so maybe a Hamilton fan next year)
