Cool cars and Bass Guitars!
Documenting hot rod builds, and a little bass too!
Current projects include finishing up a custom 1968 F100 Flareside Restomod, a Show Me Rod and Customs 1932 Ford 3 Window Highboy, and modding a Rare Yellow Blaze 2011 Mustang GT Premium. I'm a second generation hot rodder, having grown up under the hood of many 1930 - 1941 Fords. I bleed Ford Blue, but love any great build.
More projects coming.

My Hurricane Cobra Replica: The First Two Years
zhlédnutí 112Před 14 hodinami
This is a blending of the first 31 videos covering the first almost two years of construction. I have a long way to go, but wanted to produce this to show my progress to those who have not seen the videos as they were produced. Thanks for watching!
Cobra Ep 31: Sound and Heat Insulation
zhlédnutí 184Před 14 dny
Today I am installing cool mat to be under the carpeting. This is to keep the heat from the engine and drivetrain at bay when driving. These Cobras get very warm in the cockpit, so I am doing all I can to keep it managable.

Finally back to work on the 1932 Ford Hiboy project, a 3 window coupe from Show Me Rod and Custom. Today, we get back to finishing up the wiring. Seems that is all I've been doing for the past month.

Dream Garage Update! Let's get some voltage!
At least you know you have good fuel pressure! 😊
Oh yeah. The App reads about 58psi
Not really a bass player although I can get by on simple stuff. I agree with most of this list. My list would probably include Leland Sklar and James Jamerson. The bass track played by Ricky Reed on Lizzos about damn time is spectacular too
Top notch
Definitely a solid list. What many young people today won't understand is how record stores were also where concert tickets were purchased. I remember standing in line many times at Peaches records to get tickets before they sold out.
@@DailyBrewGarage so superior to Ticketmaster. Sometimes "advances" aren't really improvements.
Looks great! Can't wait to watch your progress.
The mirrors are a nice touch.
That is nuts. I just paid $11 shipping to send incorrectly ordered brake rotors and pads back to rock auto. That was easily a 50lb shipment. Summit shipping fail for sure.
Let's be honest having a cobra that starts a little hard is much much better than having any other kind of car that runs perfect!!!!
That is what we call a "fact"
I see a mini-split in your future. 😀
Certainly on the wish list
Lovin those horns
The guy on @i.e.427garage9 was where I found them
Good way to test your theory before fully running wiring. Sure not a lot of room to work in that build. I can't wait to see this completed.
that coolant cap looks like it wont clear the hood.
It does. Already checked
Float level is too high.
EFI. No float
Well done. As an aside it makes me happy to see the yellowtop lightning cube. 😀
Also the car looks good.
Thanks! They are in business in Indiana under new ownership. I'm not sure what they will be offering, but you can reach out to them on the website. They have helped me with missing parts, as mine was the last one out of Iowa
Is hurricane still in business. I guess they changed their name . Also do you have a budget for this build. I will be most of the work myself except the engine.
Very nice stuff!
Thanks! I'll have a more detailed video coming!
Luna looks so happy living in arkansas
We are! Dogs are loving the space too!
My 2020 only has 13500on its doing the same thing and the driver door lock stopped working .keyless entry
My driver door lock is doing the same thing. Mine is intermittently doing it, and sometimes makes an odd noise when locking. Hmmm
@@bassandhotrods8299 mine just quit working. 3 months after the warranty expired
I hope you guys are having a blast in the mountains🎉
Hey this is your neighbor right across you guys back in Texas just came across your channel I hope you guys are doing the best in arkansas
Is the 2x4 in the middle there to keep it from folding in half?
Yes exactly.
Nice progress!
What kind clearance do you have on the back of the cap when it hinges open? Curious if it rubs at all or that is something you have to account for when centering it.
Position is key. It clears with about half inch to spare
SEMI competition, not Super Comp.
Accurate. Misspoke. All the miles I've driven lately have taken a toll
If Paul has you covered, you might not need this. I'll be taking pictures of an original one on the 25th.
He did give me some pics but I'd live to see more if you can get them
@@bassandhotrods8299 I got some pics, but I don't think they'll be helpful. They may be interesting. I can't seem to figure out(if there is a way) to send you a PM. Do you have that function? Are on the ClubCobra forum at all?
That is a rare color of Mustang. I think it was only a 1 year color option gold
This is not the gold from 2010. This is Yellow blaze. Introduced mid 2011 - 2012. It is very rare, but Lava Red is even more uncommon
@@bassandhotrods8299 thanks. From the video it looks gold. Lol. My bad.
That is the weird thing about this color. The actual color depends greatly on lighting
Larry, Sam Reynolds reached out to me regarding your search for details on the nose splitter. I've sent you an email with some notes and pictures Paul P
Thanks, Paul. I took a look and I thank you. My phone screen is too small so I'm going to have a closer look. I cannot thank you enough as I have been digging for info on this and have consistently come up with nothing.
#4, very similar to mine. You see blue Cobras everywhere, then red. Very few green. I get TONS of comments.
I like green, and green plus street cobra = unique. That appeals to me
@@bassandhotrods8299 Exactly, I am waffling around some shades of burgundy or deep maroon with a ghost stripe for that reason.
Blue is so pedestrian. I vote for green. The glitter does not do much for me and, in the case of body damage hard to match. My vote is for a traditional British Racing Green with saddle tan interior. The Cobra is built around an AC sourced roller and AC is British. For me, there is no other choice. But, if your heart is set on metallic blue then do it your way. It is, after all, YOUR Cobra.
@@stevehansen5477 mine is a dark green, looks black in the shade, with white stripes and a light tan interior. Love it.
#3
1st choice - #2 blue, 2nd choice - #2 blue, and 3rd choice - #2 blue ... THAT WAS EASY!
Given those choices, I'm in for #3.

Rock on! I bet you are thrilled to have so much space to work in now! When you get your body off, I would love to see the entirety of your exhaust system. I am going undercar on mine when it arrives and would love to take notes. Good luck on the body work!
Looking good I am glad to see you back on track!
Me too!
If you could spray that ceiling white you wouldn't believe how brighter it would be (good for your videos and mayble can use less lights on at times?). Just my two cents; but the transformation has been great since you started the shop project. I've seen every one of your videos I think since you bought the place. Hope everything turns out the way you want, congrats!
I seriously considered spraying the ceiling, and that is a great idea. Just am running low on the budget, and I think the lights will be good enough. Thanks for the comment!
Super cool to see the new place best of luck with all your projects!
Nicely done - Your daughter is a gem, make sure you put up PLENTY of security cameras - Keep up the great work...
What thickness did you go on the CC spray foam? I’m thinking about 3” on ceiling and 2” on the sides
The climate I'm in, 1.5 inches all around did the trick
Not a 3 valve. 5.0 coyote 4v per cylinder.
Beautiful 3 valve right there.
Gen one coyote. Thanks!
Amazing clean. That interior looks professionally done.
Thanks!
I'm glad the engine was still running strong after 2 years ( I was the guy who rebuilt your engine I was working for him)
Daytona coupe my favorite
Hello, Do you know the name of the company who manufactured your steel building? Thanks
I ordered through Supreme Metal Buildings, but Maan Made Carports in west Arkansas built it for me
You are going to love that shop!!
It may not affect where you live but here down south the humidity I was told spray foam is ill advised as it can't breathe to dry the condensation.
That is open cell. Closed cell solves the condensation issues
Drywall is not garage friendly! Especially in a working shop environment! Plywood, liner steel or even OSB are much better choices. Liner steel may seem more expensive at first, but figure time and labor to tape texture and paint. Have you priced quality paint lately? And liner steel comes in white, order to length, no additional framing required. Those steel frames are usually spaced 5’ apart so you would need 10’ sheets of whatever material you go with.
I agree in most instances you are correct, but this is not a "working shop" environment. I am not by any means a professional, and for my purposes it will be fine, as I have used it before with no difficulty. You are 100% correct in a working shop however.
You commented how pleased you were with the fit and finish. Who did you purchase from in AR and which installers? Did you say how much for the building alone? Thanks
I have a video on the build, and one on the cost breakdown. A company outside of Russellville built the building
How about how much was the spray foam insulation?
$4800. I had some estimates as high as $6200. Shop around
You just added a pile of structural integrity to that building with foam.looks great. Also sound deadening is a big deal also when hammering around on projects.
Yeah I was amazed at the before and after
You adopted a possum
Or a badger?
