After ten years looking after elderly parents and many false starts, we now have the time to start a CZcams channel.Our passion in life is very varied, we spend our time at the allotment in the summer and love to live thrifty (on a budget) so we can afford to travel to south east Asia in the winter, if you enjoy allotment life, travel, music and cooking content you may like this channel, we're both excited for this new chapter in our lives :)
Removed a death trap and cleared out the strawberry bed ☺️🙏
When you see a skip full of bricks and have an allotment you start thinking of the next job on the plot 😃👍 this week we replaced the path outside the greenhouse which was a wooden death trap and cleared out the strawberry bed. We lost a days graft footage as accidentally deleted it but we pruned the plum tree and done the general strumming and weeding ☺️ #gardening, #allotmentgardeninguk,#allotmentlife,#allotment

Eventually started to tidy up the area where rubbish tends to accumulate so Daveys put some flower beds in ☺️👉🌺🌹💐🌷🌸 nothing nicer than seeing all the jobs coming together so next year we’ll be getting growing again ☺️🙏 #gardening #allotment #tidyup #allotmentlife #garden

Just came across your channel today 🌿 I'm also in the north east - Whitby - don't have an allotment but just started growing stuff this year - tomatoes chillies carrots strawberries (which my 4 year old grandson Noah claimed 🙄😆) I've got some blueberry plants and a couple of apple and pear trees - just in pots - am going to go back and watch all your other videos 🌿🍓 well done on the brick path 🌿

Nice job with the bricks. Love it when you get something useful for free. If you find the bricks move with frost over the winter then I've had some decent success just mixing a couple of bags of cement into the soil underneath them to make a base. Cheaper than putting a proper base in when there's better things to be spending money on, lol.
Hi Richard great idea if they move, we do try to spend as little as possible on the allotment to save for travelling in the winter months….although if Davey was a millionaire he’d still be jumping into skips to see if he could make something out of something 😂 one man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure as they say 😃👍 Debbie xx

Seeing your rhubarb patch brought back some lovely memories of my Granny's garden when I was young, back in the '60s. I remember she had an old bucket, with a rusted out bottom, over the top when they first came up. She used to look forward to the rag and bone man coming so she could get some free horse manure for the roses, lol :)

I've made some very similar beds in my back garden using old pallet wood. I had to build a frame to go over them, out of pallet wood and chicken wire, to stop the cats digging it up. Turned out to be a great seed bed that I could add shade to if it was very sunny. Great video, thanks.

@@Daveyingeordieland7053 Haha. Don't be worrying about getting the hang of it cuz you never will. It's a bloody phone your talking to, lol. I got the same issue here. My girlfriend used to tell me, "That ain't you when I see you on video." So we came up with a plan, lol. If I feel awkward, then I just act like I'm talking to her (I have to tame that down a bit cuz I'm pretty blunt talking to her, lol). Just do you. Lucky you having Davey doing the building. It’s all learning and we’re enjoying it which is the main thing…once I start growing again next year I’ll get better (hopefully 😂)and have something to talk about. Talking to a camera isn’t something that comes naturally but I’m sure it’ll get better 😂🤞

I had to pretend I was its mother for 24 hours while at work…digging up worms and feeding it every 20-30 minutes 😂 I did google what to do and the rescue said I done a great job keeping it alive ❤
