The Tangled afro is not a good thing. Nothing wrong with being natural but take care of your natural. Unless that kid is out active everyday getting dirty and sweaty once a week wash is a lot. But it is your hair and your child. You do what you see is best.

Truthfully A tangled hair period looks very unkempt to most people. It's not about selfhate, it originates from a time when everybody went out groomed and dressed with dignity. A time when no one would be caught dead looking like they just rolled out of bed with two days of mats in their hair and expect others to think otherwise.
