I saw Ramin last year as the Phantom and it just pains me that I'll never be able to see live performances of Sierra in the role of Christine again

I saw the show twice in Toronto. As a kid It changed my life when I first saw it in 2012. When I went for the tour this time around I first saw Nick. The second time was with Randy Jeter as Valjean and he took my breath away! A new favourite. His vibrato and richness of voice was incredible, especially with Bring Him Home. Those high notes were angelic. If only I could go back again and again to watch the show I would!

Best voice for Phantom! Ramon gets best acting - sure. But JOJ is the voice for sure!

What’s so hilarious is that Carlotta is obviously the better singer simply based on the fact that the music she’s given to sing is much more challenging.

Which theater is it?

I hate to disappoint you however I worked front of house at her majesty’s when Martin Smith played the Phantom ( I actually worked there from near enough the beginning when it was Michael Crawford, and consider myself very lucky to have had the experience). After a few months in the role Martin Smith was sacked because he could not sing the top notes and he just screamed them which was painful to hear. This wasn’t realised in rehearsal as he sang them falsetto as said he was saving his voice for the show.

Michael was spectacular and perfectly cast as the Phantom!

Honestly, it’s a blessing he never played the role. His voice doesn’t suit it at all, nor does his personality.

This is a fake recording not even made by the real Martin Smith. No amount of AI can replicate the delivery and actual nuances of Martin's voice. You do your listeners' a disservice by using a different person and machine or technology to artificially try to imitate another person's voice.

Why is Music of the Night in C Major in this recording instead of the original D-flat Major? Still sung beautifully I'm just curious.

I saw Phantom for the first time on January 10, 2023. And prior to that point the only other phantoms I had heard were Ramin and Michael (Because they both had cast recordings, though Ramin’s was a live performance). My expectations were high, and I didn’t even notice the weird vowel until Wandering Child. That’s when I realized he was turning “you” into “yew”, etc. I saw it on April 15, as well, the true final performance which wasn’t handled by a crappy lottery. Laird was absolutely fantastic, but Ben’s weird vowel will always give me the most nostalgia out of any phantom I’ve heard.

Destined to be the FINAL Phantom on Broadway. Bet it was an amazing performance. I'm a Laird fan now. WOW.
