Every church leader should have to watch this. This is the best, most important talk I've ever heard.
I've just stamped and addressed letters to my bishop and stake president, imploring them to PLEASE listen to this talk. They're great, compassionate men! I appreciate what Sister Okazaki about standing before a 'firing squad' when you've had a problem.
How did I only just find this talk! This is incredible! Exactly the truths I've been needing to hear and this lines up almost perfectly with revelation and answers God's been patiently giving me. I feel so seen and brave. It's time for survivors who have been through enough healing and are ready to help point the way to others to stand up and begin shouting! Because the Lord remembered us in Jacob 2, in 2002, and now in 2023 I'm seeing new paths open up that will change our church culture for the better forever. And it's Christ behind it. Hang in there, don't leave just yet. Help us change. Educate those leaders we're so angry with. Some will listen. They want answers but don't know where to get them. How can you give those answers?
To clarify, I'm a survivor of sexual abuse. My father and mother both abused me, and my father prostituted me.
Last week my prayers for years had finally been answered! I came across a 2021 BYU Women's Conference talk; "Healing the Brokenhearted: Feeling God's Love after Experiencing Abuse.' This talk, and Sister Okazaki's, together, this past week?? No coincidence! Both are Angels!
Amazing. Powerful. Beautiful. Thank you.
Best talk I have EVER heard on the topic!
A man who is a workaholic misleadingly thinks that he is becoming the best man and husband and father....... $$$$ Is his first priority.... And this is very very wrong it is actually undermining the family every single day that goes by if a man is guilty of this... And he is blind to it..!!! It's an unrighteous behavior to ignore your family to ignore your number one to ignore your wife... In more specially do not spend any time with your boys... Sports carpentry, animal husbandry, or boy scout activities,. Kids ---Boys ! Need Dad's... To BE HOME...!!!!!! Wives need more than waving goodbye to their husband every morning... And not see him for the next 2 weeks because he travels... Literally abandoning a woman in the valley of Tears.... Is a Grand scale demolition to a relationship...
(I would like to also tell you that you would look a lot better with your hair longer.. not in a pixie cut from 1985.)
She needs to learn to relax and stop being so forceful and talking so fast as a another thing I noticed which is not very good so Miss Wendy Top you need to pay attention to these features of your talks otherwise your subject matter is excellent.!
Don't rush ! Slow down ! 😉😉😉
I can't seem to find enough information on this subject.... Very few people even know anything about this subject.. I think it's an important subject that needs to be out there more to remind everybody but mostly husbands,
Jeesh Jana
As a women, wife, and mother who is guilty of unrighteous dominion, I can very safely say that this is mostly definitely NOT restricted to "mostly husbands:". 😔
She seems so nervous and stressed out you can hear it in the bottom of her throat...
❤️
Glad this was uploaded.
This is wonderful!
Why is it that so many men misunderstand the meaning of righteous leadership...???
Dr Matheson is a magnificent person who always teaches me something new every time I interact with her. Thank you for these inspiring words and direction! 🖤
Thank you so much for uploading this. It was wonderful
I couldn't have come across this talk at better time, than at this time Thank for uploading and I want to thank the spirit for guidance to this talk I needed to hear. ❤️🤟🏽🙏🌼
Thank you I hope many members and leaders watch this. ❤️
I have all her books. She’s such an inspiration to all people. Thanks for this wonderful talk :). RIP ❤️
I love Dr. MacArthur - a true personal hero of mine.
Is there a transcript available?
Thanks, Sheri, for suggesting her to speak. You and her speaking together would be incredible
Thank you for this video. I have felt and endured great pain do to the horrifying human disease of sexual abuse. The aftermath of sexual abuse can take many forms. The psychological trauma can last a lifetime. I feel great sorrow everytime my memory takes me back to that point in my life and not understanding what was going on. Regardless, my memory as a six year old boy has lasted my life. Throughtout all my positive memories that has always haunted my thoughts. The questions that run through my mind is why? Not thinking as myself but in a third person point of view. The main question is how do you cure it? Should the offense sexual abuse be treated with the same severity of murder with the death penalty being used as the worst form and justified punishment. Meaning, that death is an option as punishment for sexual abuse. Although, most predators were victims, once an individual victimizes should that person get the same rights of a victim?
Daniel, I'm so glad you shared! I've experienced sexual abuse too. I've asked that question, screamed it at God. Healing takes so much longer than I want it. But Christ is answering. How are you doing now, friend?
Thank you ... I know you are an instrument of God ! I love you ... Whoever you are !!!
This is how I know that I .... Belong to God ... For he chose me that day in the Kitchen ....
My salvation I found in my Lords love in his scriptures ....
You are that light .... Thank you angel Lady !!!!
This is why I live in that garden ... That Light !!!!
Thank you ... For at my darkest days it is that " light " that has saved me !!!! For I felt and saw my Jesus and my lady lent me her cloak and kept me safe !!!! And this has been my LIGH!!!!!
Where can I download the audio for this speech?
