I wish they would stop making devices need a phone app to operate, it should be an extra not an only. Like it use to be with devices and phone apps first came in.
Not pink inside the ribs, you failed.
Is there a way to set the degree instead of any profile type (ambient, beef, poultry, etc)?
Go to the profiles, hit the + sign and you can set whatever you want.
@@bignicksmeatsntreats great, thanks a lot
I’ve had my Silverbac for about 3 years. I upgraded to the new controller about a year later. I’ve been happy with it. It’s durable, easy to clean I haven’t had any issues with flame out or auger issues. I would just caution the internal temp probe for the cook chamber is not accurate at all. The actual temp is anywhere from 30 to 75 degrees hotter than indicated. I’ve verified this with 2 different wired thermometers. I use a secondary thermometer to control the temperature so if the Grilla app says 225 degrees it’s actually around 260-280 degrees. Another suggestion, that front shelf accessory is about $100 from Grilla. Instead I bought a folding plastic table from Target for about $35 and use it for every cook. I keep it right next to toe smoker and it’s great for keeping pans of food, sauces, utensils. It’s especially useful to wrap briskets, ribs, and shoulders.
Not much privacy where you live.
I'm on a golf course.
I have and never get smoke taste.
Use good all hardwood pellets and make sure you're in Pro mode not PID mode.
which one can be connected to two phones? (e.g.: in case two people want to watch the temperature?)
I don't know if that is possible. I'll try it.
can it be connected to two phones? (e.g.: in case two people want to watch the temperature?)
I'll try it and let you know.
2:33 thanks joeyjojo. 🤪
What type of pellets used? Thank you
I only use Bear Mountain. In this case, I used Bear Mountain Oak.
@@bignicksmeatsntreats Thank you!
Amazing work, love it
Thanks a lot!
It's not smoky?
Nope. Temps over 250ish don't produce smoke. Just works as a convection oven.
Love the outtakes! Great job!
That looks SOOO yummy!
It is!
Nice work. Looks great!

I'm going to have to try those. Looks amazing. You kind of cook it like a brisket. I can do that!
I'll make some next time you're over.
Um…OK!
Wow that looked delicious! Great video I’m subscribing now
Thank you.
Amazing video, really love it. I will try it. Let you know how comes out.
Please do
Them look damn tasty. For me getting a smoke ring isn’t the issue, for me it’s about the lack of flavor. It’s down right depressing.
I found the brand of pellets is a HUGE factor on flavor. I only use Bear Mountain for that reason.
@@bignicksmeatsntreats been there , done that, tried those. I believe it’s the pit boss 820 D. It’s an older one also updated the control board to a PID same frustrating issues.
@danielploy9143 sorry to hear that. Both of my Grillas and the Mixon Barq have controllers that are designed to have swing in the temps vs a PID that is laser focused on temp. The Grillas also have a PID mode, but I've never used it.
Man those look awesome!
They were!
Just watched the review. Excellent. Is there a published maximum temperature that the probes can tolerate without melting / failing?
There is. Let me check the documentation and get back with you. Just looked, says 212F internal, 572F ambient.
Used it the first time and it worked great… have had problems with it ever since. Bluetooth connection drop, probe paring drops, was plugged in for 2 day and still the probe was dead. I rotated the probe to ensure connection and still had trouble. So , i cannot recommend this item.
get ahold of ThermoPro. They will make it right.
Will do!
Just got mine for 19$ Sam’s club special!!
Wow! Great deal.
Looks tasty! How much longer to cook a 6.7lb pork rack? Can I substitute Grey Poupon mustard?
I would guess around 3 hrs total. Grey poupon would work just fine. Enjoy!
Looks fantastic, I don't even know what I would do with 40lbs of pepperoni. I don't think I'm worthy of that kind of power.
I split it with my brother in law. Two full days of work.
Yea, my Chinese "knock-off" of a Treager, the Camp Chef brand, is Very Chinese. The Burn Pot just disintegrated from Rust after a couple of yrs and I didn't know it. The ability of the Smoke Pro SE to reach and maintain temps above 300 F became more and more difficult over the period of a year and when I finally got smart and stuck an Inspection Mirror down in the Burn Pot, there it was. The walls were missing and flaking away from Rust, especially around the Feed Auger Tube. I ordered an OEM replacement Burn Pot from Camp Chef which was a Pain and never worked in the end. NONE of the Burn Pots listed in their Parts inventory had ANY description as to which model they were designed for ? ? So, I was forced to e-mail Camp Chef to ask which Burn Pot would fit. They e-mailed me back w/ a part number and I ordered it @ $40 bucks. It was different in that the Igniter tube wasn't offset from the Auger Tube cutout, like the Original was. This offset feature of the Igniter tube made removing the entire Burn Pot much easier. The New Burn Pot w/ the Igniter Tube directly under the Auger Tube cutout made installing the thing nearly impossible. I finally got it in and it was cut too tall and sat off the mount about an 1/8th inch. When I tightened it down it bound up the Burn Pot slide tray (used for emptying the ashes), and the Tray couldn't be moved. If I wanted to empty the Burn Pot ashes, I had to loosen the 4 mounting screws for the Burn Pot ? ? And lastly the Igniter Tube has a Hole drilled perpendicular to the tube (for cooling i guess) but I couldn't get the original Igniter past the Holes at midway down the tube ? I finally had to remove the Burn Pot again to have a closer look, which wasn't fun w/ the misplaced Igniter Tube. It turned out there was a Lot of burring inside the Igniter Tube that was remaining from the Drilling operation of the holes drilled at the cross section. They hadn't deburred the thing well enough to fit the Igniter in the Tube. At that point I gave up. I removed it and contacted Camp Chef and explained all the issues w/ the New Burn Pot that didn't get finished or test fitted. There was No quality control given to this part. I sent it back and purchased an aftermarket brand from pellet-stove-parts-4less.com. It was half the price, it was manufactured properly and my Pellet Grill now gets up to and maintains the higher temps easily. No More Camp Chef products for me.
Anything past ribs and the racks have to come out. Kinda false advertising on size if you ask me. And it's got Myrons name on it. Nope.
The only thing that is smoking brothers is the controller.
Boom! Get you some!!!
My goodness. Wish I was the guess. Great job. As usual. Please keep the videos coming.
Thank you. We'll be putting out a bunch more soon. Wanna make sure the recipes are dialed in before we put them out.
Who is that handsome guest?! He’s awesome! Rib looks great 😊
Great job!
Are you a vampire or something, being allergic to garlic
May very well be. Lol. Garlic, onions, leeks, shallots. All in the same family.
Lot like a traeger 850 timberline.
Good looking grill. Tons of space. I would say that it sounds like they're fairly behind the times with the WiFi connection. Most smokers it's quite simple, so if there should be any feed back it's that connecting something shouldn't require multiple steps as you mentioned. Regardless I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with this. I had a Recteq when I wanted to see if I even liked smoking and when I decided I did I sold that and went with something made in the US. In fact, my Yoder is made just up the road from me since I live here in Kansas. Thanks for the video!.
I looked at Yoder. The 640 was no bigger than what I already had and the 1500 was going to be close to $7k by the time I got it to the house and with a cover. The app is functional but not as easy as some others to connect. I rarely use the wifi for anything other than monitoring temps without having to go outside and if I'm using one of my wireless probes, I don't even use the wifi on any of my grills because it monitors meat and grill temp at the same time and has alarms. Prime rib and 40lbs of pepperoni going on this weekend!
Good review. 3600 for a grill with no cover, hard to use wireless connectivity, no pellet dump, and limited app function through a browser? I’ll pass. Honestly there are better options out there that are US made.
I need to bring you some HGH Zesty Mustard!
And pray tell is that?
How did the new smoker go? Hold steady at 235? Run smoothly?
Runs like a top! I've done several cooks on it now. Mostly in the 225-325 range. Been running great even in the really cold weather.
Looks amazing!
It was!
The grill sounds tinny when you pull out the racks and I know you said the weight but what’s the thickness of the metal?
I can't remember. Smokin' Brothers could tell you.
@@bignicksmeatsntreats the thickness of the metal counts just saying you do you not subbing
Exterior walls are 12ga. I think interior are 14ga but trying to confirm.
Love my Gen 2 but jealous of the Smokin Brothers addition. I had narrowed to Mixon and Smokln Brothers before they joined up. Amen to the space and the design allowing 8 full pans.
Lovin' it so far. Did my first long cook yesterday. Doing prime rib and 40lbs if pepperoni this weekend.
What app are they having you use to control it? @@bignicksmeatsntreats
Wow that looks like an amazing smoker...so i have a sincere question if i could get you opinion...i have used a propane smoker and a pellet smoker (pit boss) both were relatively easy to set a temp and made some great food. A friend was kidding me but also being serious told me a real pitmaster doesnt use electric or propane, he told me it is an art to control temp and the flavor is much better....to be honest ive never used charcoal or wood chunks but i have my eye on the weber smokey mountain....any thoughts on all this? Thank you for your advise.
I have had a kamado (charcoal) for many years. I prefer the simplicity/flavor of the pellet grills, and a quality pellet grill can give amazing results.
@@bignicksmeatsntreats Thank you sir, I have been totally happy with both my smokers (master built and pit boss) and I put food in and go do yard work while it cooks...didn't know if I was missing something as I've never had smoked bbq from charcoal... One day I may buy the weber smokey mountain just cause I've heard so many good things on the reviews...happy cooking brother.
I know it is off topic, but being from Ca. it is just weird not to have rear yard fencing, is there a reason for that, or do just love your neighbors that much? Now back to the great review.
I live on a golf course. The HOA only allows short chain link if you live on the course.
@@bignicksmeatsntreats OK thanks, thanks for the review. Looks like a really nice cooker but to big for my needs.
@@Moondoggy1941 it's a beast! Shooting beef short ribs video on it today.

They may be. They told me a few of the small parts were not U.S. made but, didn't tell me exactly which ones.
Thank you for the detailed first impression!!

Those are nice smokers. I had the opportunity to use one with Myron's son at a cooking event we did. They have a trailer with 4 of those on there (2 smaller, 2 larger). It blew my Traeger Ironwood XL out of the water that I was using that day.
I'm loving it. I looked at the big one. Massive. Been doing some short cooks on it. As soon as the weather gets better, I'll be hitting it hard.
@@bignicksmeatsntreats looking forward to your videos, just subscribed.
Badass smoker Nick!
Great information!
Did you consider the Grilla Mammoth?
I did. New ownership. Was concerned it wasn't engineered by Mark Graham. It's too tall for how light it is and with the small casters, it would be blowing over constantly in our high winds. I also really wanted U.S. built.
if you can buy a smoker like that you can afford a wireless thermometers and custom cover!! for me my money is with Taeger for the weekend warrior family ptt master and Yoder for more passionate pitt master folks!!
I have lots of wireless thermometers. Got the custom cover today.
