I remember being in Cromer during this with my grandparents. It was one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen. I'm glad this video is here because I didn't know if it was just exaggerated in my memories. I remember the ladybirds piling up at the side of thr road.
0:07 THAT FUCKING LADYBIRD WALKING ON THE CAMERA GOT ME 😭😭
As someone who has a vhs of the film I love to see many heritage railway going to such great lengths to recreate things from the film
Nice clip
Man's most civilized form of land transport.
Literally the best
I wonder what happened to the 1840s style Thunderbolt?
This engines are very good locomotives
Lovely Chris, wish you were here to see it now babe..
Wasn’t Dawlish a death eater?
What a fantastic celebration! 🤗
I prefer the Irish J15's :D
Not me
Excellent 👍
hm... a 14XX with a Toad Brakevan? where have i seen that before...
As a girl in the 1950s my mum went to Alton Towers by train from Castle Gresley South Derbyshire. Only in Britain would so much infrastructure be thrown away by self serving short sighted politicians. Ernest Marples was as bent as a nine Bob note .
My favourite steam locomotive. Nice video 👍
Its great to be an engine. Song.
Thomas and Friends. Island Song.
I have a Hardback Book called The Railway Policeman. The Story of the Constable on the Track. By J. R. WHITBREAD.
I have a Hardback DORLING KINDERSLEY DK EYEWITNESS GUIDES Book of TRAIN. Discover the story of railways - from the days of steam to the high - speed, sophisticated trains of today.
I wish They didn’t close down the railway
Yea but I never Ed ride a steam engine before only a deisal btw I don’t like deisal trains
Good evening cjh. Any chance of using a few seconds of footage? I need to illustrate Stephenson's Link Motion outside the frames, and 44767 is the obvious choice. With credit of course.
Oliver, Henrietta and Toad!
This is brilliant my son, Dad enjoyed his walk. xxxxx
Well done! The colours are just like in the film. Did you use filters? I thought the 1401 was destroyed because of Dr. Beeching. Is this a replica?
Loved it there, my son did the video, Brilliant ❤
This was brilliant I was there, my son did the video.❤
I worked on the railways throughout the 1970's. The Stoke to Leekbrook line was still operational as a freight line. There were signal boxes at Endon and Milton junction.
Churnet Valley Railway cjh30003 LOVE LOUIS SHIRLEY
We go on holiday up there twice every year for the last 13 years
I volunteer on the railway that inspired the film
Brilliant son xx
Brilliant Chris. xx
I was there when my son was recording this. Brilliant ❤
My all time favorite film and a beautiful recreation.
Brilliant
i and several others went to see a screening of the film on 25/5.23 at woodhall spa , still a good film

Is it just me, or does that guy behind the other two seem to be Chris Eden-Green? 1:17
I remember it very well. The pavements were red.
He worked at the hotel at a hotel at Cromer in front of the pier! He was a young man then!
BIG Fan of Dad's army
Brilliant
Brilliantly done
Just found this - wonderful!
I now want to watch the movie again, always puts a soppy grin on my face. Memories of times gone by when people had time for each other and courtesy and manners where the norm!
That was one of my favourite movies once and I just remember just a few details now.
Well worth a nostalgic trip back in time and watch it again, a cracking old movie.
the biggest difference is that 1401 here is so clean compared to the movie
I admire many of the GW locos as they, in my eyes, are more personal and beautiful then those of the other companies and the 14XX class of locos are simply in all its humbleness/humbelity one of the absolute stunners.
Unless I'm mistaken, the locomotive in the opening picture is the "Catch me who can" which was the first public demonstration to a paying public.
WINES AND SPRITS FIRST !
