Getting set means set still on toes or bouncing on toes?
Yes, I’ve also heard it as the ‘ready position’, getting ready to make a save. On balls of feet, hands out, balanced, ready to make the save!
set still on your flat foot. no one can balance on toes .
@@danieldengaky2137 if your weight is forwards you’ll naturally bring your heels off the floor slightly. Should be on your balls of your feet rather than toes with your feet in contact with the ground, some keepers ‘pulse’ their feet, some stay more still

you never want to be on your line as keeper anyway? how far out from the line though depends on how far the ball is away from the goal as you’re aiming to cover the direct angle of sight from the ball to the goal - standing there when the shot is coming from outside the box makes it almost impossible to save anything heading for the side netting.

Great video Andy. My daughter warms up but coaches feel she is not 'on' at the start of the game... any thoughts on improving mental readiness other than body readiness?
Hey, great question! I’ve seen coaches use questioning during basic movement exercises - for example maths during two touch - something to help shift focus from one activity to another. But reading in between the lines of what the coaches are referring to it’s possibly she’s not up to ‘game speed’ straight away which could be the warm up doesn’t build to match intensity?
