Firstly mate, well done for doing such a positive thing with your club. Loved this video. My family have been lucky enough to have a place near Montgo for quite a few years now, but there has always been a game of golf, swimming pool and now kids to get in the way. Always wanted to do it and just started looking for some video info about route, length of time, terrain, amount of water to take etc and your video answered a lot. Take it easy 👍🏻

Not a route to use if the tide is in. At High tide, the sea comes up to the base of the cliff. The North Downs Way / England Coastal Path / King Charles Coastal Path follow the cliff edge towards Folkestone. At the pub The Valiant Sailor the NDW goes towards Postling. If you want to go to Folkestone there is a path beside the pub that takes you down into the harbour.

I've done this walk many times in the past. The caves are old pumping stations. Really enjoyable to see this again. Looking forward to more. New subscriber.

19.40 that looks like the sea side of Canvey heights formerly the land fill site. i have not been round there since the late 1970s i did however work on the land fill on weekends occasionally in the 1990s.

9.11 i believe is the gas loading jetty.

Thank you. This is a very good video. I grew up in Barry Dock and have explored many of the coastal footpaths between Cardiff and Barry but you have shown me spots which are new to me. PS The closed military establishment was HMS Cambria which has relocated to Cardiff Docks. Cheers.

Cracking walk in my home town of Gravesend pal... Things land a little differently when you get beyond Greenhithe and into the connubation of Gravesend (inc. Northfleet/Swanscombe)... It has more in common with the North in terms of its social make up and industrial look... A tough place but the folk there are incredivly friendly... Full of Kentish character too! When you go beyond Gravesend on the saxon shore way, it gets remote out on those marshes with some unbelievable old abandoned forts lining the Thames (some ravaged still with military damage), semi wild Gypsy Horses in herds in effect and some amazing semi wild cattle and bird wildlife... Was actually out towards Cliffe in the marshes yesterday trying to get to Shade house (an old smuggling home and possibly Kents most remote abandoned home)... Charles Dickens wrote Great Expectations about the area and its dark, bleak, remote nature amongst others whilst finishing his life in Higham (North Kent being his real home being raised in the area). How did you reverse the film when walking under the Dartford crossing? Going from Dartford towards Gravesend you would always be on the right bank of the Thames as you walk away from the bridge?

I lived in a caravan on Canvey for a while.. Before they built those nicer ones.. Colder inside than it was outside.. Back in Leigh-on-Sea now. Thank goodness!

Excellent example of the old adage 'Improvise. Adapt. Overcome'. Well done. Would very large sandwich bags and shoe laces be a lightweight remedy to the wet paths you may encounter?

To walk from dartford to gravesejd in 16 min ie impressive

Brings back memories of my mum and dad in the 60's, taking me to Dartford from Strood and Higham, as my grandad Harris was one of the Gypsies who left farming and went to build the railways and crossings there.

Great stuff. I'm not sure how you managed to do this walk without getting entirely drenched, so ominous were the clouds. Brought back memories of starting the London loop in Erith and going past the Dartford Creek barrier on my way to one of the Crays. You passed a statue on your way, an incongruous artefact if ever there was one, in such a semi rural industrial landscape. I'll hazard a guess that it was Pochahantos, who research tells me was born in Virginia and somehow ended up dying in Gravesend, a story notable enough to have made it to Hollywood and their Disney people. I have subscribed to your channel partly because I am intrigued to find out more about what proper blokes get up to. Please though, not a word to my wife.😊

Bradwell on sea is not near the sea Bradwell Waterside is on the water Quirky Essex !!!

The line you just walked was part of the old Midland Railway line which linked Bath Green Park station with Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and eventually Thurso and Wick right in the north of Scotland. On reaching Bath if you had crossed over the Lower Bristol Road near the Royal Oak pub you could have got on the trackbed of the old Somerset and Dorset line which will take you through the Devonshire and Combe Down tunnels and over the Tucking Mill and Midford viaducts and on to Radstock and Midsomer Norton. Fun Fact - Midford viaduct features in the opening scene of the film 'The Titfield Thunderbolt Thanks for sharing the walk.

Please keep having your adventures. When I was young I thought you had to go to places like the Lakes or Peaks to do proper walking. You confirm that I was a right idiot back then.
