I love this, my daughter is having a hard time with math in the good and the beautiful and I think it’s because of all the beauty and “fluff.” She sounds a lot like how your son started, I’m interested in trying this curriculum and see if I can get her to enjoy it a little more. Which means I’ll enjoy it more. 😆

I know that every child is different, but am just wondering how long it took your son. Have you continued through all 7 volumes? What is your opinion on the complete program? Yes! Much appreciated, thank you for showing the haul. I would love to see how the clickables markers hold up. Since I am new to homeschooling I just have bought the basics, filler paper, binder, pens. I am hoping to get a dry erase roll to stick on our table.

I appreciate you coming back. We HS too and some of the questions. Wow. Im amazed at how snarky people get. I planned a homeschool prom for our kiddos and it was one of the best nights of my own life! 😂 we live rural and had just under 30 kids... their self expression was so cool. Allllll of them danced. It was just fun! I feel like i just accomodate what my kids feel like theyre "missing" out on. Like dances, field trips, hang outs. This summer our house has been the teen gathering spot. I never wanted to be that parent BUT, God has grown me and taught me how to be that parent. Hope your new school year goes amazingly well! ❤

I think a day in the life would be great. I just started homeschooling my 8th grader last yr. I feel like a failure.... anyway, really hoping it gets better this coming yr.

This has been extremely helpful. I’m just coming across this video and going into my 4th year homeschooling.

We school year round but we take breaks whenever we need them. We had golf camp this week so I didn’t push school. We have a 4 day trip in July and a 10 day trip in October. We work around when my husband can take off or sickness or holiday weeks etc.

This sounds wonderful! Simple and to the point. Yay to no cc. We have had the curriculum with the 100 manipulative pieces 😂that was not “fun”. My math learning style is “I hate math” 😆

My 15 year old has an IEP plan but I’m going to start homeschooling, I’m just a little confused on what to put on my PSA where it asks about providing special needs services? Do I put yes because of the IEP? Would I need to attach a copy to my PSA? I’d really appreciate the help, thanks again and hope you and you’re family are doing well!! It gave me so much hope to hear your sons reaction in his reevaluation.

public schools is not helping us we need something different for my four kids they're struggling so bad one of my kids is in IEp .any homecoming program or academy ?

Did he test well on his state testing after Learn Math Fast?

I'm homeschooling a 7th grader who was very much in the same boat. I heard about learn math fast but he kinda needs the color in order to feel interested. So we went with TGTB math4 in order to get him to have confidence in math. Because he had the same "I'm just bad at math" mentality but we're now over half way through the book and he no longer hates math because he has that confidence of, "no wait, I can do math"

Good info. My oldest is in 8th this year. I have been thinking about high-school since last school year. My husband has been talking about sending her back to public. I am against it and want to homeschool through high school graduation. This seems like a good middle ground. I will be looking i to this option in my area and present that to my husband.

We have our morning time of group subjects then break away to individual work. I have an 5th and 8th grader we are starting our 4th year homeschooling!

I've got two 7th graders and about 2 days left to decide to homeschool or enroll in cyber school. Math is my biggest stumbling block. My son is not great at math and has forgotten much of what he learned last year already. Do you think it's good to start with book 1 of this or on his grade level? And can this program count as your math class for the year for homeschool?

My husband and I have decided to homeschool our two kids (6th and 8th). The both were struggling in math and I don’t get the common core way. While we’ve been home this summer I’ve been teaching them the old school math and they like it. The only problem is I have to go all the way back to the beginning. I’m excited about this curriculum and I know they will be caught up in time. Thank you for this video.

Do I need to buy the worksheet books that they sell separately or are they same as ones you can print online? Common core is stupid! Good for you! So, those conceptual ideas, the drawing the circles, should only be used to introduce the concept- as the abstract-then be related and transitioned into the abstract-the numbers and symbols. Sad to hear it’s being used wrong, and messing up so many kids! Thank you!

Hello there! We homeschool year-round, but we are taking four consecutive days off here and there this summer (especially for family fun with friends who go to public school). Today I am outside on the back patio watching CZcams and resting after a productive morning of cleaning all the things I never get to on a regular basis. I love cooking and baking new foods, so if my kitchen is clean at the end of each day, then I feel like I am winning. 😉 That's my thing for sure! I used to do my nails and makeup, but I've given up in that department (and that is okay by me). Your nails look so pretty! 😊
