Is he not going through Dedede's hitbox in the video??
The way I jump and dash is just enough for Kirby to no collide with Dedede whilst still being able to hit Dedede with the parasol. During some of Dedede’s attack animations I would get hurt doing this. But his idle animation specifically is just low enough to get away with looking like I can jump through him while I’m actually just jumping over him.

@@AshuroRedMad43 it’s just cat spelled backwards it doesn’t have any extra meaning, idk why Nintendo made it all upper case like it was supposed to be an acronym but yeah my character is a TAC just recolored a bit

That final boss was nerve wrecking...
I've seen ProsafiaGaming do it, it's possible to do the paintball attack from Mark Soul damageless. Perhaps you flinched when you should've scurried, or you didn't have an upward attack.
@@GabrielRolland-l4n yeah it’s just because copy has a lack of option every other ability has some way to avoid it without having to play luck if the draw.

I was determined to do everything else still, 10 damage be damned (and it was part of a video series where I did the True Arena with every ability too, so obviously disregarding Sleep, I didn't leave any stone unturned)
Don't sweat it man, When I seen your series of you doing all of the abilities so I assumed you were another reputable source for Kirby SSU stuff, and I wasn't wrong since you're pretty good at the game.
In superstar original there was actually a sweet spot where you wouldn’t copy I am assuming it’s not in this game

For what it's worth, I feel like using that force ability cheat only facilitates the challenge, rather than invalidating it. The title is not "without losing the Copy ability", it's, "Only using" which means that using a cheat to enforce the rule doesn't seem wrong to me.

This takes me back to when I tried to do challenge runs of this game as a kid. From just Helper to Hero speedruns (managed to get I think 4 minutes with Bonkers and everyone else to under 10 minutes except maybe Sir Kibble?) to the final challenge of a damageless, no copy ability run of The True Arena. I don't think I ever finished that last one lol

@@thewitheredstriker with most other abilities there is always some sort of way to dodge, some moves have invincibility frames, so abilities have specially guard that make it so that you take no chip damage from anything. There’s tons of ways to avoid I was just using an ability that had very little options lol.

I loved this mode when I was little, but now it's pretty easy, I first tried it with every single ability (yes even wheel). So in looking for a challenge, I decided to play Kirby Star Allies Soul Melter EX mode with EVERY character and no allies. And it did not disappoint, took me over 3 months of on and off playthroughs to do everything. I thought I'd mention it because you can play that mode as one of the enemies instead of Kirby.

@@nkrumagames4796 Try it without any cpu allies, really changes how you approach the fights in that game.
I felt the stress when you got hit at the end of Marx Soul's battle. The fact that you survived and did this challenge is insane.
Since guarding does damage, you can actually defeat all the mini-bosses by guarding on them without ever losing the copy ability.
i was wondering why he didn't try guarding marx's attacks to deal more chip, but i think he was avoiding it as damage not dealt by copy abilities beam. So a more traditional copy-only run (where you just have bring it all the way through to the end) would be able to beat them, assuming Phan Phan isn't always ready to grab. Edit: just scrolled down and saw a comment of his lamenting not having thought of it
doesn't touching phan-phan at any point cause you to get grabbed by him regardless of if you're guarding or not? unless im thinking of kirby's adventure
@@snazzrin.7185 yeah i just tried to find a point where i could use guarding to damage phan-phan and failed, and the minimum b-press challenge run i looked at used plasma to damage phan-phan from a distance (of 1 cm)
Was awesome to see an old fav game of mine played in an interesting way. Good Job! was a rough fight but you did it. An extreme challenge would be to do it without dyeing at all like the Area is built to be a single run all the way through. But you'd probably want to practice a bunch on bosses to get better with the attack patterns and timing between scan hits. You got skills good luck!

Try a different challenge: have the copy ability on you by the final boss
For the mini bosses ya coulda used Tac and just not interfere, I feel. Another small youtuber (who likes Kirby as well) who's also black and has great editing skills AND uses Wario Land 3 sfx?? Hold this sub
